Ybholy:
We’re not in court yet ; Chief.

We’re taking logical steps to ensure a sustainable development is achieved.

What brings all this issues most times is little misunderstanding.

You should know better since you sell USED items.

There’s always a way to settle this.

For example:

If the screen is 40k, and seller want to add 10k
He will simply tell buyer higher price and make first offer. The buyer will bargain or accept.

At end of the day, he’s spending same 10k and still maintaining his customer.

They’ll transact again and again - Life goes on.

I share from the fee of fixing inverters for my customers.

Real Life Examples:

1. I did waybill of 300W Energy Storage and 50W panel to Abuja. The vehicle got accident and the panel broke into pieces.

Luckily, the main solar generator has no defect 😋

Customer sent photo of damaged panel. I went to park and confirmed they had accident.

I asked the customer to leave the damaged panel and take the solar gen home. He did.

I bought a new 50W panel and send to him - I didn’t ask him to send me any money.

He received it.

Few weeks or months, he connect me to a lady that bought same item from me. The transaction was fast since I don’t need to prove to the lady that she will get her item after payment since I don’t do “Payment on Delivery”.

Up till last week, I still had biz discussion with the guy.

2. I sold fans to a firm in Ilorin, Kwara state.

10 units of solar fans. We had agreement for replacement of anyone that has issues. The way we do it is to return to company and take another one or company fix it and return it.

One of the fans has issues. He sent it to a woman coming to Lagos. The woman came with it. I don’t want to be stressing them and stressing myself- I just gave the woman another brand new fan.

The only thing I did was to put remove their damaged fan from the old carton and put the brand new fan inside their old carton. I kept my new carton. She left

I contacted my customer in ilorin and told him I’ve changed it.

One early Sunday while I was taking beer, this man chatted and paid for 50 fans. The gain is more than what that guy selling shoes here is planning to use to and rent 1 room and parlor in Lagos 😂😂😂
I have replies, but

I don comot hand for the matter.

You people should agree on what you're convenient with.

1. If seller is not accepting to replace with lower end, same end or higher end device, then he’s looking for trouble.

I don’t want such to happen.

2. What you’ve done to be responsible for shared bill is this;

You send someone to check the item on your behalf and ship to you.

I STRONGLY believed he told you the item is working fine before you asked him to waybill to you.

If he said otherwise, you won’t ask him to send to you.

Did you have a warranty disclosure with the seller on the said used item?

Most sellers will tell you physical examination of device removes whatever warranty. Your doubt is what made you to send the person to examine it.

Or you think the person that went there isn’t involved in the transaction?
To be honest asking seller to share any part of the financial burden is not just with the evidence on ground.

Seller's evidence is weightier as it stands if we are going to measure objectively. How is it just to make him share in the financial burden?

That's only my analysis.

Hmm.. I don comot hand.

Your 1 cent is not really scenting o chief. There are lots of issues with your write up and I don't want to shift potential customers away from you so I'll just address what concerns me. If you read my write up you'll realize I offered him such an option to replace the device. In fact I went above board and offered in all three directions a lower value phone, a phone priced same, and an phone priced higher. He availed to none. I have been buying and selling US devices laptops for quite a while now and a lot of times they have no issue. So your submission of a foreigner not parting with his goods except there is an issue is moot. We have over 10000 pages of the Offeruo thread to dispute your notion and honestly it doesn't speak much to you that you would think that in the first place.
Secondly, you're suggesting shared responsibility from me the buyer when you have not stated what I could have done wrong to be responsible for this shared bill(P. S I did nothing wrong, but I still welcome you to state something so I'll address that too.
You should be glad with shared responsibility proposition because you also attested seller delivered a tested okay phone (which was why I said no refund at first - justice is for both parties). But your narration about what happened to the device is only your word. Unless you can hard prove.

I think you need to use understanding yourself. The buyer received it from his courier the 3rd day on 2 percent. Not like he has been using it since pm the 13th. He plugged his charger and the phone went off. What else was he supposed to do correctly that he didn't do? He shouldn't have charged it? If the phone was returned with dent or Crack that would have been a differently story. Then we might have said the impact made the phone to go blank. Be empathetic and place yourself in the buyer's shoe. So he should let go of 310k just like that? Haba be reasonable
Ybholy has made a more reasonable proposition, they should probably go with that unless buyer's video can fully prove his innocence - then burden falls on the seller alone.

Verifying by his contact or not, every used/tokunbo item has number of days to be checked by the buyer to confirm it works 💯

You’re selling USED items and you don’t know this.

The issue here is the negligence of the buyer to ASK for such warranty.

In Alaba here, few sellers will give you 3 days to check.

No one can check a device under that few hours.

How about a device that goes off or locks when a sim is inserted? How about a device that goes off at 40% battery? How about a device that stop working once it overheats?

I sell in Alaba and I always communicate these things with seller whenever I buy foreign used stuffs. I records the discussion each time.

If a seller is jokingly asking me to go with the item claiming it works 💯, I’ll also jokingly insisted we have an agreement with each other.

That being said, best options here is:

1. The phone screen will be replaced and both the buyer and seller will split the bill and phone will be sent to buyer.

2. Seller will offer items on close specs and buyer will take one. If the item is priced higher, he will balance seller. If the item’s price is lower than his 310k, he will count his loss and have a 100 working phone.

3. Pursue the case and lose both phone and money (very bad)

Currently, the phone is a property of the buyer and not the seller - as per law. The buyer can arrest the seller for selling item and indirectly asking him to return it which is theft.

In another angle, the seller is not supposed to be in possession of the said item but will work with the buyer to make sure the ORIGINAL screen is replaced and the bills will be split.

The buyer won’t bear the full bill. The seller won’t also.

That’s how it’s done in this case.

The phone is not brand new and that dismissed the warranty of FULL REFUND and all that.

I’ve bought a new item that developed issue under 7 days and it’s changed.

I’ve bought iPhone XR that I noticed it has mouth piece issue and I returned it and take XS and balance seller.

Seller bought the item as used, sold it as used. Not brand new.

The item developed fault at sellers hand.

Whether the item has issue beforehand or not is not the case here again since item was confirmed OKAY before shipment. That one is left for the sellers mind to judge him if he knowingly sold defected item.

There’s no way you can test a used phone, laptop or gadget and detect all errors on it immediately.

This don’t need much talks.

What has happened has happened. It’s painful to the seller and the buyer as buyer’s money is at risk now and sellers reputation is also at risk.

The sellers duty now is to make sure the device is repaired to 💯 percent state with original parts.

Tips: while buying used phone or laptop, avoid seller with only one piece unless you can forfeit the funds if things go south. Buy from someone with other items so you can upgrade or downgrade if things go south.

This is out of my so many years experience buying used phones and laptops in Alaba market. I rather buy a phone 350k from seller that has varieties than buy it 310k from someone that has only one left.

Know this: a buyer won’t throw away a defective device 😂. He will fix it a bit and sell it cheaper to any unsuspecting customer - be it phone, laptop, game, TV etc.

Truth hurts but every Nigeria is motherfucking hypocrite Burna boy said it.

My 1 cent.
There was no intital agreement between both parties on warranty, so that's not a variable to consider in this case.. but your propositions are very reasonable.

Unless video exonerates buyer fully.

I just checked and realize you sell gadgets they might explain why you're being defensive. You know well that sensing someone is to verify a phone's condition doesn't entirely absolve the seller. You know there is a way you can work on a phone and a buyer won't be able to detect the fault at that moment expect days after. I'm not saying the seller sold a faulty phone here but your initial submission of no refund at all is very wrong!!
Use understanding.

The buyer said the screen went from working perfectly 3 day ago, working perfectly when he recieved it to "blank"

For an oled screen to behave like that "blank" not ink or something else - and you know, this is only his account, we were not there

I made that submission based on this.

But if he has a meaningful video to support, it is welcome.

okay, you have some points.

Send the video, let's see.

I appreciate your comment, I do, but apparently you did not read my post properly. Both my submission and his verified there were no physical dents or cracks or anything suggesting damage in transit.
I'm reiterating your narration about your picker testing the phone and ascertaining you of it's perfect working condition before you decided to pay. I mean, look at it from both sides.
Technology Market › Re: House Clearance Sales.. Come In Here!!!! by 100FIX1: 9:11am On Jul 24
Joeysage:
I just read your whole submission. Lol. Pls read the whole issue properly before "attacking out of ignorance, do in fact check all I've said"
Why are you not able to point out the ignorance in strong8kIPTV remarks? That would have amplified your truthfulness.
Technology Market › Re: House Clearance Sales.. Come In Here!!!! by 100FIX1: 9:06am On Jul 24
Joeysage:
Pick a struggle for God's sake. One minute it is the dispatch handling even when no sign suggests so on the phone. The next minute it is me, which are you saying so we know how to address this thing. Stop shifting goal posts pls.

If it's me you're addressing, there is still no merit in your words. Phone first went blank> I assumed it had gone off due to low battery>Plugged it in> Showed charging(blink fast you'll miss it) >Went blank again(even the video I sent you showed that same thing).
But let's even assume it went the way you're trying to bolden to defend your claim, how in God's name does that change anything in your favour. Abi dem no dey charge phone ni.
So now, according to your insinuation and what you'll prefer people to believe, handling is and was not ever an issue with the phone. You're only looking for a neck to tie so you can avoid responsibility. You're grasping at straws if at all chief.
Pls people make una talk for this matter abeg.
If we can see the video, it might shed more light on the nature of the defect.
