Good morning Nairalanders.
Happy new day.
I came across a YouTube post ( I'll still search for the address later) about an Alfa ( Islamic Cleric) who was also a naturopathic practitioner ( oniṣegun-ewe àti egbo) who was praising the wonderful effects of a Yorùbá/ northern Nigeria concoction called ADI-MẸ́NU ( hold it in your mouth).

It is said to be used by blacksmiths, farmers, market women, loggers and stone quarries , after the day's work, in order to re-boot their strength.

You'll be surprised by the ingredients said to be used to make it:
- tobacco
- cow urine

Note:- it is so potent that NO YORUBA MAN SWALLOWS IT! At the dosage of 1 tablespoon, if you swallow it, you MIGHT DIE.
That's why it's called adi-mẹ́nu ( you hold it in your mouth and let it's essence sip into your system. Maybe you spit it out later ( I don't know).

I want to ask Nairalanders , if you've ever heard about it, and how is it prepared.

- how long is the tobacco soaked inside the cow urine

- are there other ingredients attached to it?
- do they boil the urine or is it fresh or fermented?

Anyone in the house, kindly respond or tell us about your experience with it.

I have heard about how dangerous it is to use.it has killed some people and those that told me said they almost died when small part was swallowed.
