SHOULD I PROCESS OR SELL MY RAW CASSAVA TUBERS?

As it is at the moment, selling raw cassava tubers seems to be a better decision than processing, especially to some domestic food products.
Raw tubers command good prices now. But surprisingly, cost of value addition is often missed in the pricing some of these finished products. This is largely due to the availability of inferior cheaper alternatives.

So, there is no point in wasting time and resources producing what the markets cannot buy at its real value.
But if you have access to premium buyers/markets, you may consider value addition. Yes, available premium buyers are the reasons why many of us are still in business.

You asked what about what those buying the tubers use them for.....

To produce of course. But the large number of local processors have their means of self-subsidizing production costs by doing some of the chores by themselves at no external cost. Hence, reason why they often undersell their products lesser than their real value, which a commercial processor cannot match.

To really match up in the same market with the local processors, a commercial processor has to put in place an effective and efficient mechanized operation system. Please note, the system must be efficient, else, high energy cost would make the situation even worse.
The wisdom is in understanding the market dynamics and knowing the right thing to do at a given time or season.

God no go shame us.
