Nigeria’s diverse climate offers farmers a golden opportunity to cultivate crops year-round, provided they understand the nuances of seasonal planting. From the rains of April to October to the dry months of November through March, knowing what to plant and when is essential for a profitable harvest.

Unlocking Nigeria’s Planting Seasons
Nigeria’s two primary planting seasons—rainy and dry—each come with distinct advantages. The rainy season provides abundant moisture, making it perfect for staple crops like maize, yam, and rice. In contrast, the dry season favors drought-resistant crops and irrigation farming, with high-value options such as tomatoes, onions, and watermelon thriving under well-controlled conditions.

Top Crops by Season

1. Rainy Season Crops: Maize, cassava, yam, and fast-growing vegetables like okra and pumpkin flourish during the rainy months.
2. Dry Season Crops: With proper irrigation, tomatoes, peppers, and leafy greens like spinach are great choices for dry season farming.

The Key to Success- Quality Seedlings. Your crop’s success starts with the right seedlings. Subpar seeds can lead to poor yields, pest issues, and crop failure. That’s why sourcing from a trusted supplier is non-negotiable.
