Pineapple fruit is one of the best crop that never disappoint with return on investment (ROI), if you properly manage your pineapple farm well, you can make more than 900% profit on your capital.
For example, you bought your 15,000 suckers, transport to the farm, plant it, fertilize the crop, control weeds and induce ( for uniform fruiting), total of 1.6m and you harvest, if you breakdown your expenses on each unit, you spend 150 or less on each, then you harvest 10,000 fruits to sell at 1000 naira per 1, equals 10m.
Can you see pineapple plantation lucrative

My major issue with pineApples is their long maturity time. Even on a small scale, can't stand it.

If you can stand the long maturity state what of the likes of cocoa, coffe, kola that takes more years. That’s why it’s called cash crops.
If you can’t wait for it maturity, you aren’t fit to run it.
Meanwhile, you can do three months crops while waiting to mature.
