FG, actionaid in partnership to strengthen home-grown feeding programme

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to repositioning the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP) as a key driver of nutrition, education, agricultural development and economic empowerment.

The initiative will drive nutrition, education, inclusive economic empowerment programme manager

This was contained in a statement signed by Dr Princess Aderemi Adebowale, National Programme Manager of the Renewed Hope NHGSFP, on Saturday

She stated this on Friday at the National Policy Forum on the institutionalisation and implementation of the programme.

The event, held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, was organised by ActionAid Nigeria in collaboration with the Presidential Committee on Financial Inclusion and the NHGSFP.

The forum brought together stakeholders from government, development partners, civil society organisations, the private sector and smallholder farmer groups to deliberate on strengthening the institutional framework of the programme and ensuring its sustainability.

Adebowale said the engagement marked a major step toward consolidating President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to enhance human capital development and strengthen social investment initiatives.

She said the Federal Government would partner with ActionAid and other critical agencies to build a stronger, more sustainable and impactful school feeding programme.

“Together, we are building a programme that benefits our children, boosts local agriculture and empowers communities,” Adebowale said.
