‎THE PRODUCTION CAPACITY OF OIL PALM TREE WHEN COMPARE TO OTHER OIL PRODUCING CROP PLANTS
‎
‎When it comes to agricultural productivity ,oil palm tree remain the most productive crop plants and when you compare it to other oil producing plants it still top the list of the most oil yielding plants .infact it remains the only tree that can yield two different type of oil from the same fruits all year round which are fresh palm oil FPO and palm kernel oil PKO.
‎
‎Despite the tons of demand for oil palm related product we are yet to meet local demands not to even mention the international demand of these products .the supply vs demand gap of these products can be bridged by boosting our production through planting high yielding oil palm seedlings and improving our farm management techniques and more importantly we need more people to invest in oil palm farming by investing in farmland acquisition and planting of these crop plants .obviously you cannot own an oil palm farm without first investing in land acquisition .
‎
‎Except you are doing something wrong at the farm or let me jokingly say your village people are against your success you can hardly loose money in oil palm farming .you have variety of products( palm oil ,palm kernel oil ,palm kernel cake) to produce and sell from the single plants hence it is only mismanagement on the side of the farmer that can lead to loss of investment in oil palm farming .
‎
‎
‎Within the first decade of planting ,a well maintained single tenera oil palm tree can bear fruits bunches which can yield between 15 to 20 litres of palm oil annually at full maturity under good agronomic practice and the good news is that the oil yield increases as the plant increase in girth and size which enable it to carry more fruits bunches .therefore when you have 60 productive oil palm tree on an acre you can estimate the litres of oil you will obtained annually .whatever yield you obtained within the plant early years of fruit production will increase in subsequent years .
‎
‎
‎Agriculture is not a rocket science ,it requires having the basic knowledge of what to do ,how to do it and when to do it and if all these are strictly adhere to your oil palm tree will reward you year in year out .
‎
‎With the level of hardship this economy is facing we need to redirect our focus to producing cash crops which we can sell both locally and internationally so that we can earn more money to reduce the negative effect of inflation we are currently facing .
‎
‎If you have taken a decision to set up your oil palm plantation you can reach out to kkfarms for a business proposal that will guide you on how to successfully establish your oil palm plantation and provide you with basic cost of every farm operation from year 1 to year 3 .Do not forget we also have viable seedlings available for sale to all farmers for this year's farming season
