✅ Prepare Bucks Early – Start at least 2 months before mating season to ensure strong sperm development. Feed high-protein diets, avoid fat buildup near the testes, and monitor overall health.
✅ Optimal Doe Condition – Ensure does have a body condition score of around 3 for peak fertility.
✅ Health is Key – Vaccinate against common diseases and control internal parasites for both bucks and does.
✅ Timing Matters – Estrus (heat) occurs every 21 days. Recognizing this is crucial for timely mating.
✅ Breeding Ratios – Normally 1 buck to 30–40 does, but reduce to 1:20 when synchronizing estrus.
✅ Milking Does – Avoid mating until 3 months after kidding. Dry them off within the first 3 months of pregnancy.
