The foreign Rice you are currently eating at home, might be Rice farm and locally processed by Farmers in the North. The rice is processed and packaged in branded bags. Some times foreign Rice branded bags are used to bag the rice.

Business men and women, mostly from the Southern part of Nigeria. Flood the North to buy those locally processed Rice. They take them to a local machine that de-stone and remove the chaff. After which, the rice will be polished (locally) to make it look like foreign Rice.

The business men/Women use any of the popular branded bags to bag their rice. Several bags of foreign rice and local rice are available. Each bag cost 1k.

Note this: It's not all the Rice that is polished. Only some business men who want their rice to look like foreign Rice, polish their Rice. Most other business men bag their rice without polishing.

This is commendable. But why can't those businesses men use their branded bags to bag their rice, instead of using popular rice brand bags?
