Cassava Peel: The Hidden Gold Most People Are Throwing Away in Nigeria

Many people in Nigeria see cassava peel as waste, but in reality, it is a powerful resource with huge agricultural and economic value.

Instead of dumping or burning cassava peels, they can be converted into:

- Animal feed (especially for goats, sheep, and rabbits after proper processing)
- Organic compost for improving soil fertility
- Biogas production for energy
- Raw material for black soldier fly (BSF) farming

In a time where feed cost is rising and soil fertility is dropping, cassava peel can become a cheap solution for farmers and agribusiness owners.

The problem is not lack of resources — it is lack of awareness and processing knowledge.

This is exactly why I documented practical methods of reducing feed cost and turning local resources into profitable livestock production in my book Feed Reduction Strategies for Smart Farmers.
