Cattle ranching in Nigeria for one thousand heads

The only way we can get the Bororo out of the forests in both the North and the South of Nigeria is to render their business model obsolete as they do not want to do it by themselves. They can not be left to master all the forests. There are many nomadic peoples across the world that became sedentary only decades ago and the Bororo must join them.

From my research, you need two hundred and fifty hectares to grow and store feed if you are not moving the cattle around at all and this means the cattle will grow very fast as they will not be wasting energy to move about and they will probably be ready for slaughter within one year.

Your profit will be in excess of two hundred thousand naira per head of cattle per annum and the revenue will come from beef and milk and probably blood and other products

It is from this revenue that you will pay salaries and cover all expenses. The highest paid person or chief expert can not be paid up to ten million naira per annum

There can't be any village that does not have 250 hectares to spare in Nigeria and there should be more than twenty thousand villages in Nigeria. There is no village that can not host one thousand heads of cattle and they can eat farm waste too

It is when you are doing rotational pasture and open grazing that you need up to one thousand hectares for one thousand cattle heads and this is what the Bororo are doing

Yes of course. I am not a professional in the field. I know a village can feed one thousand cattle. The farmers can bring grass from their farms everyday to the ranch while it is weighed and recorded for them and etc etc.

There are many ways but open grazing is the worst and the most expensive
