About the Role

Ave Maria Farms and Foods Limited seeks an experienced, commercially minded General Manager to lead its operations and expansion programme. The successful candidate will improve poultry productivity, develop profitable egg markets, coordinate pen construction and flock expansion, and strengthen cash flow to support sustainable growth and timely repayment of financial obligations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business leadership and expansion: Prepare and implement business plans, budgets and phased expansion programmes covering additional pens, equipment and increased bird capacity.
2. Poultry production: Supervise the Poultry Manager to improve egg production, flock health, feed efficiency, biosecurity and egg quality, while reducing mortality, breakages and wastage.
3. Marketing and sales: Develop reliable sales channels in Lagos, Ibadan, Oyo and other viable markets, including hotels, supermarkets, distributors, bakeries, caterers and institutional buyers.
4. Financial management: Work with the Accountant to prepare cash-flow forecasts, monitor production costs and margins, control expenditure, recover receivables and plan for loan interest and principal repayments.
5. Funding and investor relations: Support the Executive Director and Board in preparing investment proposals, financial projections and funding applications, and maintaining relationships with lenders and investors.
6. Procurement and controls: Strengthen purchasing, feed and egg inventory management, stock reconciliation and protection of company assets.
7. Staff management and reporting: Set departmental targets, supervise staff performance and submit weekly management reports and periodic performance reviews through the Executive Director.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Business Administration, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness Management or a related discipline.
• A relevant postgraduate qualification or professional certification will be an advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, including at least three years in a management role within commercial poultry or an integrated agribusiness.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, integrity and accountability.
• Willingness to work closely with farm operations in Oyo State and travel regularly.

Remuneration
Competitive and commensurate with experience, with performance incentives linked to agreed profitability, cash collection and operational targets.
