JOB VACANCY: PURCHASING AND SUPPLY MANAGER

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, proactive and result-oriented Purchasing and Supply Manager to oversee the company's procurement, purchasing and supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of high-quality raw materials, production ingredients, packaging materials, equipment, spare parts and other operational supplies required for the smooth running of the company's production activities.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement effective procurement strategies that support the company's production and operational requirements.
• Identify, source, evaluate and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors of raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials and production equipment.
• Work closely with the Head of Operations to understand production schedules, forecasts and raw material requirements.
• Ensure that all raw materials, ingredients and packaging materials are available before the commencement of production.
• Prepare procurement plans based on production forecasts, stock levels, sales projections and operational requirements.
• Oversee inventory management to ensure accurate stock records, adequate stock levels and re-order level.
• Implement effective stock control systems for raw materials, finished goods, packaging materials and consumables.
• Monitor stock movement, stock balances, reorder levels and minimum and maximum inventory quantities.
• Ensure proper documentation of goods received, issued, transferred and returned.
• Monitor the shelf life and storage conditions of raw materials to minimise spoilage, contamination and wastage.
• Ensure that temperature-sensitive and perishable materials are stored under appropriate conditions.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, distributors, and logistics providers.

Qualifications and Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or HND in Purchasing and Supply, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
• A professional certification in procurement and supply chain management (CIPS, CIPSMN or other relevant certification) will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement and supply chain management, preferably within the food and beverage, FMCG or manufacturing industry.
• Demonstrable experience sourcing agricultural raw materials, food ingredients, packaging materials and production supplies.
• Good understanding of inventory management, warehouse operations, supplier management and procurement processes.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, quality control procedures and regulatory requirements within the food manufacturing industry.
