As reported late last night, the last official PlayStation 2 title will be released at the end of March 2013, just a few weeks past the console's 13th birthday.

But as it turns out, today is the day in which Sony has decided to finally cease production and shipment of the system to Japanese retailers.once remaining stock has been depleted, that's it.

The PS2 was released on March 4, 2000 and would go on to sell over 153.6 million units since. It is, at this point, the most successful home console of all time. Coming in at number 2 is the original PlayStation, at 102.49 million units.

When also factoring handhelds, the PS2 is still the king of the hill, though the Nintendo DS (which includes all variants: the original, Lite, DSi, and DSi XL) is a close second at 152.50 millions sold.

As also mentioned previously, the PS2 remains popular to this very day, and will probably remain so for the foreseeable future, not just in Japan but across the globe. It, unquestionably, has one of the richest and deepest libraries out there, one that many of us have yet to fully explore.

the media are @ it again !!this time it seems they are blaming video-gamers for event that occurred in the killing of those teens !!Some media reporters are speculating wildly and suggesting that video-games were partly to blame for the killing of 20 children and six adults in Connecticut on Friday.
At this point, everyone is looking for a reason as to why a person could carry this heinous crime, but to jump on the violent video-games bandwagon once more is plain ridiculous. Someone should conduct research to find out what the gamer to killer ratio actually is. I think they’ll find that most these people are mentally disturbed, not gamers.what do u guys think?

Project Fiona is a concept design that was revealed earlier this year by Razer and is a tablet that is designed for PC gamers. Min-Liang Tan, CEO of Razer USA, made a post on his Facebook page last October that challenged gamers worldwide to share /like his post and if ever it reached 10,000 shares/likes within 7 days the company will be making the tablet a reality. It broke the 10,000 mark in less than 7 days which is why the device will be made to the delight of fans.
This
is going to be the world’s first crowdsourced gaming tablet as the feedback of more than 10,000 was taken into consideration as to what the specifications of the device will be. The final specs are listed below.

The specifications listed for the device will make it play Crysis 2 however we doubt if it could handle Crysis 3. We’re also unsure on how the battery life of this device will fare when playing games. We all know that playing games on laptops rapidly drains the battery.

Over at their Facebook page a contest is being held which will allow 3 lucky people to win a Project Fiona once it ships out. All you have to do is like and share the gadget on their page on or before December 31. The contest is open to anyone worldwide.
No date was announced as to when this gaming tablet will ship out but we are most likely to be seeing it this coming CES 2013.

Razer is well known as a company that makes computer accessories for gamers. Some of their products include mice, headsets, keyboards, mousepads and just recently a gaming laptop called the Razer Blade.

In a rather classy move, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida recently went on Twitter to proclaim that he's now an owner of Nintendo's Wii U.
Not only that, but even posted his Nintendo ID publicly and was asking for "friend requests," too. Here's his entire tweet regarding the matter.

Bawss1: That's still a fat rumor. The development name for Sony's next gen console was widely known as Orbis. Either way it's just a development name, upon completion the names usually change.

Got an Xbox 360 but don’t like paying for Xbox Live? Well, you’re in luck: this weekend Microsoft is letting everyone enjoy all the features of Xbox Live for free.

Microsoft’s charitable gesture will only last until the end of this Sunday, after which they’ll once again lock most of the 360′s online feature’s behind Gold’s pay wall. But for now, all of the common rabble can enjoy what it’s like to get fragged by a ten year old and get called a “gay” as he teabags our corpses. In addition to online play, other Xbox “apps” like Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Crackle will be available to everyone as well, provided you already have an account with those services.

Strangely, the free weekend is only happening in non-European territories: while the rest of the world gets to enjoy the benefits of Live for free this weekend, Microsoft has strangely decided to leave our Old World brothers and sisters out. I feel bad for you guys, I really do, but if it makes you feel better, you guys usually get nicer collector’s editions than we do.
