Health8 Quick Measures To Reverse Hair Breakage by Abimaye(op): 6:33am On Aug 03, 2018
Are you struggling with Hair Breakage? you’ve come to the Right place. Below is an advice from renowned dermatologist, Dr. Susan Taylor, on how to reverse Hair Breakage.
What can you do if you notice hair breakage? There are several simple measures that can be done to stop and reverse your hair breakage.
Recognize that your hair is breaking and take action. By that I mean, sometimes we find it difficult to recognize or even admit that our hair is breaking. The experience can be very traumatic. If you suspect breakage, ask your hair stylist or a family member to take a look at your hair to determine if there are areas that are shorter than others. If that is the case, it is time to take action (see below).
If you have relaxer in your hair, analyze how often you get a touch up. Ask yourself if you could be getting touch-ups too often. For some women, using relaxers too often can damage and weaken the hair shaft and cause breakage. Generally, touch-ups are performed every six to eigh weeks.
Determine if you can possibly space your relaxer out to every eight or ten weeks or longer, particularly during the winter months when there is little to no humidity and you hair is less likely to revert. Can you use moisturizers more consistently to smooth and “tame” the new growth until it is time for a touch up? Can you use a wide-tooth comb to gently comb the hair, beginning at the ends and working up towards the root to minimize breakage? Can you avoid pulling and tugging the hair when combing new growth?
Combining two chemical processes such as permanent hair dyes or highlights, containing hydrogen peroxide, with relaxers can lead to damaged hair shafts and breakage. I generally suggest picking one or the other chemical treatment and avoid using both chemical treatments on your hair. However, if you do use both chemicals, do not have them done at the same time but rather, wait several weeks after applying one to your hair before applying the other. Additionally, condition your hair regularly and minimize heat from blow dryers and curling or flat irons if you have both chemicals in your hair.
Excessive heat may also damage the hair and produce hair breakage. This may be from hot combs, curling irons, flat irons, blow dryers, hooded dryers, or hot rollers. Do not use these implements more that once a week. See if you can decrease the heat that is generated from them by turning the setting down. Roll, pin curl or wrap your hair at night so that you do not have to apply heat in the form of curling irons or flat irons each morning.
The hair of many black women is very fragile and studies have demonstrated that normal brushing and combing the hair can result in breakage. Brushing your hair 100-times a day is a no-no for our hair. Only comb and brush your hair to style it. Also avoid rubber bands or other implements that can physically cut into and break the hair shaft.
Natural hairstyles are not immune to the possibility of hair breakage. If twists or locks are twisted too tightly, hair breakage may occur. Have you experienced a twist, lock or braid snapping off?
Hair care practices that you could once tolerate (relaxers, blow drying, flat ironing) may result in breakage at another time in your life. Just like your body, your hair changes. If hair begins to break, ask your stylist what you can do differently. You might wear a wig for a period of time or smooth your hair back in a loose ponytail.
Trim the damaged ends of the hair, wash and condition the hair every two weeks.

He was subsequently loaned to Kano Pillars F.C.,[7] in the 2009–10 season where he set the league record scoring multiple crucial goals as Pillars finished second.

VVV -Venlo
He transferred to Dutch club VVV-Venlo in summer 2010,[10] but the move was held up because he was only 17 years of age and therefore not eligible for an ITC in accordance with the current FIFA rules.[11] He was officially eligible to play for VVV-Venlo on 14 October 2010 when he eventually turned 18 years of age.
Less than a week after arriving at the club, Musa made his debut for VVV-Venlo against FC Groningen on 30 October. He started the game for VVV-Venlo, was fouled in the 50th minute and received a penalty kick.

The event had in attendance, BBC African Footballer of the Year winner, Ghanaian Asamoah Gyan and the top officials from the Nigerian football federation including the president Aminu Maigari.
In April, Venlo's football director Mario Captien said that representatives of Tottenham Hotspur had visited the club regarding the player,[16] also Ajax scout Tijani Babangida said that Ajax were interested in Musa but that the outcome would be decided at the end of the season.
On 1 May 2011, Musa hit a brace to sink Feyenoord 3–2 and end any lingering fears of automatic relegation from the Eredivisie.
In August 2011, after returning from the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia, Musa made his first appearance of the 2011–12 season at home against AFC Ajax and scored two goals.
In September VVV-Venlo chairman Hai Berden disclosed on Eredivisie Live that VVV-Venlo had turned down a last minute bid of €10 million euros for Musa from the Bundesliga. The name of the Bundesliga club was not disclosed.
CSKA Moscow

PoliticsAmeachi Fires Wike-say His Govt Has Failed by Abimaye(op): 12:30am On Jun 12, 2018
The Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, has noted that any government that watches the killing of its people on a daily basis is responsible.
Amaechi said that the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike has failed in providing good governance for the people of the state.
The former governor said that under Wike’s watch, killings and massacre of the people persist all over the state on a daily basis.
Amaechi, the leader of the APC in Rivers, said this at the weekend at a rally where he received hundreds of supporters of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, into the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Bera, headquarters of Gokana Local Government Area of the state.
He said, “Every government has a responsibility to protect lives and property. The reason there is a government is because the people are alive. If a person dies there will be no government.
“Any government that watches its people killed every day is an irresponsible government. Governor Wike watches his people killed every day.
“I met a woman yesterday whose husband was killed in front of her with her son watching. It could have been any of you. I can assure you today that this government of Wike has failed.
“When I was your governor, you slept and I kept awake. As governor, I chased away criminals to their holes. I know that the reason they are into crime was because they had no money for them.
“I knew that for you to stop a man from crime you need to provide an alternative means of livelihood. And to do that, I started building infrastructures. I built schools, hospitals and health centres.
“A lot of people were employed in each of the schools and health facilities I built.”

PoliticsWhy Court Ordered INEC Account To Be Frozen by Abimaye(op): 7:55am On Jun 11, 2018
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is in a fix after the Federal High Court in Abuja ordered the freezing of its accounts over a N34bn contract, thereby threatening the upcoming elections in Ekiti and Osun states.
The Court also ordered the deduction of over N17 billion from the accounts of the electoral body in favour of Beddings Holdings Ltd (BHL).
Justice John Tsoho granted a Garnishee Order Nisi on the accounts of INEC in First Bank PLC and UBA PLC with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for the sum of N17.2bn
Information gathered was that a garnishee proceeding, is a judicial process of execution or enforcement of monetary judgment whereby money belonging to a judgment debtor, in the hands or possession of a third party known as the ‘Garnishee’ (usually a bank), is attached or seized by a judgment creditor.
According to the court documents, Beddings Holdings Ltd.’s ex parte application, in suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/492/2018, was awarded the garnishee on an earlier judgement by former Chief Judge of the court, Justice Ibrahim Auta.
Justice Auta’s judgement delivered on January 28, 2014 was in respect of a contract for supply of Direct Data Capture (DDC) machines, Electronic Collapsible Transparent Ballot Boxes (ECTBB) and Proof Address System/Scheme (PASS) worth N34.5 billion for the 2010 voters’ registration.
Bedding Holdings had approached the court challenging INEC’s decision to give the contract to three companies – Zinox Technologies, Avante International and Haier Electrical Appliances, saying the decision had violated its patent right.
Joined in the suit with number FHC/ABJ/CS/816/2010 were INEC, the Attorney General of the Federation and the three companies that secured the contract.
The company urged the court to compel INEC to pay it half of the total contract sum amounting N17.2 billion as compensation for infringing on its valid and subsisting patent right.
The court agreed that with the total evidence provided by the parties in the case BHL owned a subsisting patent right over the process, application and the use of the DCC machines.
The court, therefore, ordered the then INEC chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, to pay the compensation to the patent holder.
But INEC filed an appeal before the Court of Appeal in Abuja in 2014, challenging the judgement of the Federal High Court which awarded the compensation.
INEC is insisting at the Appeal Court with appeal number: CA/132A/2014 that BHL is not the sole patent owner of the election equipment.
It is also challenging the way and manner BHL rushed and secured the patent right from the Federal Ministry of Commerce within two weeks, even though the process takes months to accomplish.
The case is still pending at the Appeal Court when the ex parte order for the Garnishee Order Nisi was granted last month.

CelebritiesPopular Nigerian Reggae Artist Ras Kimono Is Dead by Abimaye(op): 7:43am On Jun 11, 2018
The singer who dominated the music scene in the 90's died today in Lagos
- He was to travel abroad yesterday but complained of not feeling too well
- Music veterans Shina Peters, others are currently meeting to deliberate on burial arrangements
Legendary singer, known for the hit singles like Under Pressure and 'We no want' Ras Kimono is dead.
The renown singer who was in the fore front of the Nigerian music revolution of the 90's is one of the most accomplished Raggae acts Nigeria has ever produced. He died today in Lagos.
Metro News reports that was to travel to United States last night, and he complained of not feeling too well. He was rushed to an hospital in Ikeja, Lagos then later taken to Lagoon Hospital in the Island.
As at press time , music veterans Tony Okoroji, Sir Shina Peters, others are meeting to make burial plans.
Ras Kimono's debut album Under Pressure, led by the single “Rum-Bar Stylée”, was a big hit in the Nigerian music scene in 1989.
Kimono served a long apprenticeship on the Nigerian music circuit, experimenting with a number of styles, before making his late 80s breakthrough as a reggae singer. Together with his Massive Dread Reggae Band, Kimono released his debut album, Under Pressure, in 1989.
Accompanied by the popular single, ‘Rum-Bar Stylee’, this revealed both a Jamaican and native African influence (the latter particularly evident in his ‘patois’ delivery, as frequently employed by Fela Kuti to communicate with the urban underclass). His strongly polemical lyrics produced album sales of over 100, 000 copies, and a fervent following for his advocacy of social change.
What’s Gwan proved even more successful, with the topics selected including legalisation of marijuana, and the need for Africans to intellectually repel colonialism and its arbitrary boundaries between tribes. Most controversially, he was not averse to naming directly those in power he saw as synonymous with backdoor imperialism.
Despite his success and achievement's he remained level heads, which is perhaps why was very respected in the music industry. In a recent chat with Sunday Scoop, he said
“I have never smoked and I don’t drink alcohol. I tell people I have been a vegetarian for 37 years. Even when my friends were having sex with two girls at the same time in those days, I didn’t join them. I have never done what these girls and boys call party despite being famous and I am sure there are other people who have never done that too.
“When people attribute recklessness to youthful exuberance, I get worried because I once passed through that stage too. I believe it is all about your upbringing. The fact that you are young doesn’t mean you should be wayward.”
Speaking about his unwillingness to change his music to appeal to a younger audience, Kimono stated,
<blockquote>“I have been playing reggae music for years and I don’t plan to change my style or dilute it. Those who want to listen will surely do. The truth is that you can force a horse to the river, but you can’t force it to drink from it. We still have a lot of youths who know my value. I don’t believe that all the youths are senseless.
“I believe two million youths out of five million youths know the difference between good and bad. If I had changed my style, I would probably not be here talking to you. I am certain the media would have crucified me that I did it for the love of money. My brand of music has kept me alive and still makes me relevant.”

Politics We Are Planning Mass Defection-apc Parallel Excos by Abimaye(op): 11:59pm On Jun 10, 2018
The All Progressives Congress leaders who organised parallel congresses which produced separate executives in some states are planning a mass defection if the Odigie-Oyegun-led National Working Committee of the party fails to address their grievances.
Investigations by SUNDAY PUNCH correspondents in the affected states showed that while some state factions of the APC were perfecting strategies to dump the party, others preferred to remain within the system and work for other parties’ candidates.
In Oyo State, the Unity Forum, largely made up of the late governor Lam Adesina’s loyalists, Adebayo Shittu’s group, some aggrieved loyalists of Governor Abiola Ajimobi and those who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party and Accord Party, have vowed to defect en masse soon.
The spokesperson for the group, Wasiu Olatubosun, said although the group had approached the court to seek redress, arrangements were being made to pull out of the party in case the state government manipulates the court process.
He said, “We are aware that the governor and his people have been saying the judiciary is an annex of the executive and that we cannot defeat him there.
“This group is not politically inconsequential. If he has the judiciary in his pocket and believes that everyone has a price, he cannot control who we associate with. We have a plan B.
“We are aware that some people will stay back in the party because they hold one position or the other. What matters is for us to go for a credible platform where we can prove that we are not inconsequential. We proved to him that we are relevant during the by-election in Ibarapa East last week.
“The government spent almost N100m on that by-election but the party candidate lost by a wide margin. There is an election pattern that was jettisoned and that was the reason for the failure.”
However in Ondo State, the factional group within the APC has vowed to take a definite action against the disqualification of their congresses held in the state by the party’s NWC.
The group, which had its parallel ward, local and state congresses disqualified, described the action of the national leadership of the party as unfair and unacceptable.
Speaking with one of our correspondents, the factional chairman, Mr. Idowu Otetubi, insisted that the group produced the authentic state executive because it conducted a proper congress.
He said, “We are definitely going to take action. In very few days to this time, you will see what will happen. I won’t say more than that for now; just wait.
“This is our party, we are not going to leave the party for anyone. It is an internal crisis but we are going to fight the injustice, just wait and see what will happen in the next few days.”
One of the ring leaders of the group, however, told one of ourcorrespondents in confidence that they were already considering a mass exodus from the party.
In Enugu State, the Deacon Okey Ogbodo-led APC faction had already gone to court to restrain the NWC from recognising Dr. Ben Nwoye as the chairman of the party in the state.
An Enugu Federal High Court had made an interim order restraining the APC national leadership from recognising Nwoye as the Enugu State chairman, pending the determination of a suit filed by the Ogbodo’s camp.
In defiance to the ruling, the party’s national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, inaugurated Nwoye.
The court has fixed June 26 to deliver judgment in the matter.
The spokesperson for the Ogbodo faction, Mr. Melvin Onuora, said his group was waiting for the court to determine the matter.
He said, “There is nothing like inauguration, what happened was nothing but an attempt to scuttle the court order.
“Now that the court has given a date for the judgment, we will wait until the court decides but we are confident.
“As far as we are concerned, there was no inauguration. We are waiting for the court to decide.”
The factional spokesman was, however, silent on whether his group would consider leaving the party, though sources among them said they were ready to quit in order to protest the injustice.
Onuora insisted that they would continue to push their case in court until ‘justice’ was done.
The factional chairman of the APC in Kano State, Haruna Doguwa, said he was waiting for the party’s national secretariat to make pronouncements on the fate of his executive before directing his members to take necessary actions.
