Tiya is 16 cups. 40 tiyas make a bag from the north. Half of a tiya is 8 cups. Half tiya is also called mudu but it is only 8 cups, unlike mudu used in the south that is up to 10 cups.

Sorry, that's a mistake on my part. A Nigerian mudu is 8 cups while a tia which is pur measurement here is two mudu which is 16 cups.
