Politics / Re: Why Are There Not Developed Towns In Delta And Bayelsa? by Aderewah: 9:05am On Sep 01, 2022
Iriruaga100:

Warri is far better than all the towns in Ogun, Oyo, Ekiti and Ondo. Remember some folks call Udu and Effurun Warri. I currently reside in Udu not Warri and the road from my house to my business place in same Udu is tarred. Almost all the roads in main Warri both inner and main are tarred. Iyara in Warri has very good road and it’s a slum. You can’t find the above in the over hyped Lagos and other state in South west.

Warri is better than Ibadan, Abeokuta and akure? What exactly is in Warri?

Asaba is okay. But you see warri? Let's not not deceive ourselves, warri is a huge slum and and very depressing to behold

I’ve been to Warri and Asaba. Asaba is just an oil town. No single economy. How many people are moving into Asaba? You compare Asaba to Ibadan? Do you know Ibadan is many of towns on south south combined? Lagos isn’t a town. Lagos has cities inside it. Ikeja is a city. Lekki is a city. Magodo etc. how many south south towns can compare to the cities inside lagos? Be deceiving igborants like you with nonsense travel diatribe

warri and asaba are more developed than every south west cities aside Lagos the former state capital..

We are not asking for beer parkour talks. We know states with better secondary schools and universities. We know states with highest igr. We know states with highest numbers of companies and jobs. We know states with highest number of GRAs, hospitals, and many more indices of development. We know Warri and Asaba are behind places like kaduna and Kano not to talk of Ibadan, Abeokuta, osun and even ondo states

Politics / Why Are There Not Developed Towns In Delta And Bayelsa? by Aderewah: 8:13am On Sep 01, 2022
These states are in the top three highest earning states in Nigeria with very low populations. They have the ocean at their doorstep to develop fishing industry. They have oil in abundance. We hear news of developments in lagos daily. Why do we hear of nothing in these states?

4 Increase minimum wage to 400k monthly
5 Free electricity
6 Lecturers earning 3m a month
7 Universities and secondary schools free
8 Seaport in all Southeastern states, even the ones not bordering the sea
9 All Nigerian politicians in jail except Igbo politicians

Peter Obi would have definitely done better than this given the resources.

Is Anambra a poor state? Why is kaduna and Kano looking better than Anambra after Obi managed the state?

This is after. Haters of Tinubu say Tinubu did nothing in lagos. Is lagos of 2022 exactly how it was on 1999? They say it was Tinubu boys that did something. Will they achieve what they did if Tinubu didn’t Rejig the igr of the state since 1999?

Educated people know lagos state was not the capital of Nigeria but lagos island. And the military governments didn’t invest in lagos infrastructure as much as the federal government did in Abuja.

Lagos as at 1999 suffered from bad roads, kissing key infrastructure, insecurity and very low funds generation. A political family created by a visionary has changed the story

Yes. I ponder day and night on this. Igbos are great. They are resilient. They are high achievers. They are the envy of other groups in Africa.

They could have been the best in Africa arguably if Yoruba is not in this continent. But they are lacking in something that the Yoruba has. I don't know it. This should be the task of Igbo intellectuals.

I don't think the Hausa or Fulani is the problem of the Igbo. They shouldn't see the Yoruba as the problem either, rather they should see them as a group to learn that particular missing something from and then surpass them in it.

Apart from politics, what area of human endeavour can Hausa/Fulani match the Igbo? Which other tribe in Nigeria or Africa can match the Igbo? But this is not so in comparison with the Yoruba.

Nigeria today is in turmoil because no real or effective opposition to curtail the excesses of the ruling party. When Yoruba is in the opposition party we all know how they kept the ruling parties on their toes from the 50s.

There is one thing sophisticated about Yoruba that the Igbo needs to learn to surpass them!

I like your honest admission that the yorubas are the best tribe in Africa. However, note that yorubas won’t be surpassed. They will continue to improve faster than anyone trying to catch up
