At about 7:32PM on Sunday the 18th of March, 2018, I should have died. I had just returned from Washington DC. I was too focused on composing a thank you email to my hostess and I missed my stop on the air train. I got out at Westfield Road station in front of the rental car center of San Francisco Int’l Airport and I was crossing the road to get to the other side so I could take the next train in the opposite direction.

I was at fault. The pedestrian crossing light was red, but I crossed anyway without looking. How the oncoming car did not hit me remains a mystery. It was meant to hit me. It missed me by milliseconds. I believed I was going to die. But the strangest thing was that my life did not flash in front of me in an instant as they say. What I recall was this sense of calm. Of acceptance of what was surely to come. I was not afraid. I believed there was no escaping death at that instance.

Have I lost my sense of fear? Because even immediately after the event, I still was unafraid. There was no fear or aftershock. There is still no fear or aftershock hours after the incidence. Right now I am still analyzing why I was not afraid.

Whether it was an angel that gave me wings to run or whether my sub conscious took over, I don't know. What I know is that I give the God and Father of my Lord and Saviour Jesus thanks for being alive today.

I know my Redeemer lives! If I keep this to myself, I am robbing someone out there from knowing that God exists. He delivered me today and since He does not love me more than you, he will also deliver you from the premature death the enemy has orchestrated for you if you believe in Him and believe Him

A Russian pop star has come under fire after she was caught on camera apparently performing a sex act on her boyfriend at a fashion show which took place in the capital city of Moscow.

In the viral video, which was filmed by another guest, singer Yulia Berg is seen massaging TV host Dmitry Torin’s groin under his jacket, while he kisses her passionately in her neck in the clip.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has announced that Zimbabwe’s first presidential and parliamentary elections since the end of former leader Robert Mugabe’s long rule will take place in July, said on Saturday.

The polls will be the first major test of the new leader, who took power in November after a de facto military coup forced the 94-year-old Mugabe to resign. They will also be the first without Mugabe’s name on the ballot since independence from Britain in 1980.

“As a nation, party and government, we are looking forward to very peaceful, transparent and harmonised elections in July this year,” Mnangagwa told reporters after a meeting with South Africans President Cyril Ramaphosa on Saturday night.

Mnangagwa, 75, said the elections would be free of the violence that gripped previous polls and which was one of the reasons for strained relations between Zimbabwe and the West. “I have already invited all political parties in Zimbabwe to a roundtable where we all commit ourselves to non-violence,” he added.

Mnanaggwa will have to announce a date in an official notice. He has said he would invite Western observers, who had been banned under Mugabe’s rule. The state-owned weekly Sunday Mail said a European Union pre-election team was expectewd in Harare on Monday.

The EU head of mission in Zimbabwe, Phillipe Van Damme, told the paper it would meet the president, political party leaders, and the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission. Mugabe, in his first comments since he stepped down, said last week that Mnangagwa’s rule was “illegitimate” and a “disgrace”.

Wole Soyinka has revealed the reaction of former Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan to the abduction of schoolgirls in Chibok during his tenure.

The Nobel Laureate said that when he reached out to Dr. Jonathan in the wake of the Chibok abduction, the former president dismissed him.

Speaking on Thursday at a dialogue organized by Ripples Centre for Data and Investigative Journalism in Lagos, the Nigerian playwright said Jonathan told him that the abduction of the schoolgirls was his own business and he should deal with it.



He said Jonathan believed the opposition was using the abduction to discredit his government, and it wasn't until three weeks after the incident that Jonathan acknowledged that over 200 girls had indeed been abducted in Chibok, Borno state.



Soyinka said: "I reached out to former President Jonathan, and protested, chiding him severely on his reaction over the abduction of the Chibok girls. I said to him; ‘you want to be accepted as a political leader, and you do not even accept as your duty to be there, at the scene of the disaster?’ And I asked him, did you actually utter those words attributed to you? His response remains a riddle to me till today."

He continued: "His exact words to me, not easily forgotten I assure you, were ‘Kampala tie niyen,’ meaning that is your own Kampala."

With history repeating itself in Dapchi where schoolgirls were recently abducted, Soyinka said that rather than visiting the affected areas, Buhari should speak to people’s security needs, and bring perpetrators to book. He said that failure on the part of government has been the reason the country is yet to get over the security challenges.

American rapper, Snoop Dogg and his company Casa Verde Capital are looking to invest in the ancillary cannabis industry. While Snoop will not be investing in dispensaries or any business focused on the actual process of growing weed, he has already invested in eight companies that support the picks and shovels specially produced for marijuana growing.



The $45 million fund marks one of the largest in the cannabis industry, with Casa Verde Capital raising much of the cash last year. Snoop is reportedly unwilling to invest any less than $1 million per company as he maintains a view that the industry will be among the most compelling of this generation.

The cannabis industry has grown steadily over the last decade and with more states legalizing the plant, the business will only continue to widen. Snoop's firm has previously invested in companies like Eaze, a delivery service and two marijuana-centric tech companies, Leaflink and Greenbits.

Karan Wadhera, the managing director of Casa Verde Capital, has implied that they are looking to the future with their investments, saying, “We’re more interested in companies that are building functions for the long term because those short-term solutions won’t be relevant once we’re in a federally legal environment.”

The burial of the 26 persons killed by suspected herdsmen in last week’s bloody attack on Omusu village, Ojigo ward Edumoga in Okpokwu local government area of Benue state will hold today March 15th.

A statement issued by the chairman of the Okpokwu Local Government Area, Francis Ogwuche, says that a requim mass will be held in honor of the victims afterwhich their bodies will be released to their families for burial.

A requiem mass would be held for the victims at the Saint Bernard Catholic Church, Ugwu Okpoga on Thursday March15, 2018. Thereafter their corpses will be released to the various families for burial in their respective communities especially those of the married women according to customs and traditions of the people.”

Ogwuche who commiserated with the Omusu community over the tragedy assured that the victims would not die in vain as efforts to bring the perpetrators of the heinous murder to justice would be intensified.

Suspected herdsmen stormed the village about 4p.m. on March 5th, shooting sporadically at anything they sighted and burning down houses in the community. Recall that on January 1st this year, a similar attack left 76 persons dead. The January 1st victims were given a mass burial.

This was the statement that converted me from a bubbly university third year student with boyfriend troubles into a stressed out full-time bag maker with monthly sales figures regularly entering 7 digits. I heard it from so many people when I used to upload photos of my former craft hobby on Instagram, and soon I convinced myself that it was worth taking a risk, so I took a deep breath and deleted all my ex-boyfriend’s photos from my Instagram. In my desperation one day, I stumbled across an article about building a website for N50,000 with a web provider called Whogohost and I decided to just give it a shot, after all I had nothing to lose. What happened next was my biggest miracle of 2017 – with only that N50,000, My new website ended up changing my life permanently. The effect was slow and subtle at first, with no significant rise in my sales numbers, but I started noticing that more people started referring to my bags using my business name, instead of just “Rukky’s bags”.

When I attended events and displayed my bags, when people saw my website displayed alongside them, they treated me with more respect and stopped trying to price them like watermelons. A bride-to-be in Arizona was arrested on her way to the solemnization venue, for allegedly Driving Under the Influence (DUI).


Marana police said 32-year-old Amber Young triggered a three-car collision that sent someone to a hospital with minor injuries at about 10:30 a.m., on Monday. An officer suspected Young, who was wearing a white, floor-length dress, was driving impaired.


She was immediately arrested, handcuffed and taken to a police station. The bride submitted to a blood test and signed a criminal citation for DUI before she was released to her fiancee, according to Sgt. Chriswell Scott of the Marana Police Department.


“This could’ve turned out way worse than it did. It’s supposed to be the happiest day of her life, and this just goes out as a reminder as to why you should never drive while impaired" Scott said.

A couple who had a society wedding in January this year have announced that they are getting a divorce.

Mr Omorode and Doris Omoraka had a high society wedding in Delta state early this year. It was such a glamorous wedding that the wife was being referred to as the 30 Billion wifey. But the couple has now announced that they can no longer live together.

It was Mr Omorode who made the announcement. He said divorce is better than death in marriage and as such, they are going their separate ways. He did not give a reason for the divorce and added that it's their final decision.

According to the New York Times, former President Barack Obama is in advanced negotiations with Netflix to produce a series of high-profile shows that will provide him a global platform after his departure from the White House.

Under terms of a proposed deal, which is not yet final, Netflix would pay Obama and his wife, Michelle, for exclusive content that would be available only on the streaming service, which has nearly 118 million subscribers around the world.

The number of episodes and the formats for the shows have not been decided and Obama does not intend to use his Netflix shows to directly respond to President Trump or conservative critics, according to people familiar with discussions about the programming.

The Obamas had talked about producing shows that highlight inspirational stories. But the Netflix deal, while not a direct answer to Fox News or would give Obama an unfiltered method of communication with the public similar to the audiences he already reaches through social media, with 101 million Twitter followers and 55 million people who have liked his Facebook page.

A phone thief who was captured in a viral CCTV footage currently circulating on the internet has disclosed that he was propelled to steal an iPhone 8S in a retail outlet in Ikeja because of the need to pay his school fees.
 
The suspect, Timilehin Olaniyi, who was captured in a trending CCTV footage disclosed that he was desperate to pay his school tuition fee of N80,000, hence he stole the iPhone 8S.
 
Olaniyi, a 200 level student of DS Adegbenro ICT College, Ogun State noted that he was in Computer Village, Ikeja on 16th February, 2018 in the morning to dispose off an iPhone 5s given to him by his course mate to enable him raise money for his school fees.
 
The suspect was tracked and arrested in Wasimi, Ogun State by the Decoy Team of
 
Rapid Response Squad said:
“I was in Lagos on the invitation of a close friend. He is aware that I was struggling to pay my school fees, so he gave me an iphone 5s to sell in order to raise money.
“So I went to Computer Village to sell the phone. When I entered the phone store, my plan was to know the price of Iphone 7s but it was not available. I noticed that one of the attendants went out leaving behind an Iphone 8s on the table.
I don’t know what came over me. I monitored the other attendant and I went away with the phone. I never knew I was captured by the CCTV camera. I sold that iphone 5s to pay my tuition fee while I started using the iphone 8s”, he stated.
 
He continued
“it was about the second day that the friend I was squatting with sent me packing from his house over a CCTV footage circulating on the internet of a phone thief. He said I was the one.
 
Source stated that Olaniyi failed to open up to his elder brother who saw him spotting a T-shirt he bought for him in the video. The brother  had gone to engage the services of a lawyer for defamation.
 
The suspect was arrested few days later in Wasimi, Ogun State.

The police in Cross Rivers state have arrested two young men identified as Inyang Patrick and Ibah Edetfor allegedly drugging and raping a lady named Umoh Joy and then using a video recording from their illicit act to blackmail her and demand a ransom.

The state commissioner of police, Hafiz Inuwa, who paraded the suspects before newsmen, said the suspects were arrested after the matter was reported to the police by the victim.

On February 23, 2018, one Miss Umoh Joy alleged that she was invited by one Inyang Akwanyene Patrick ‘m’ 22yrs, to Harris Guest House along Atimbo Road in Calabar. On her arrival to the Guest House, she met Inyang Akwanyene Patrick and Ibah B. Edet ‘m’ 23 yrs, and was offered a bottle of drink suspected to have been drugged, which she took and became unconscious. Thereafter the duo forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her and videotaped all that transpired which they later used for intimidating/demanding ransom from the victim or threatened to make it viral to the public if she failed to comply. During the interrogation, the suspects confessed to this crime. The phone used for recording the incident was recovered from the suspects and will be tendered as an exhibit in court. Meanwhile, the medical examination has been carried out by a qualified medical personnel to know the victim’s health status.”the police boss said

In one of the biggest hauls of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in recent times, a 38-year-old Nigerian national was nabbed with 1.21 kg heroin worth Rs six crore from Mumbai-bound Rajdhani Express at Vadodara railway station, Ahmedabad, India on Wednesday, March 7.

Madubueze Nonso Charles, who was travelling in A5 coach of the train, was arrested around 3.30 am from the train by the Ahmedabad zone sleuths who had a specific information about him from the Delhi zonal unit.

“When we searched his luggage, we found three concealed food packets of pistachios and rice flour. On opening them, we found white powder and tests confirmed that it was heroin,” said Hari Om Gandhi, director of Ahmedabad zonal unit of NCB.

He added that Charles, who is living in Mumbai as as a clothes trader, is only a carrier while the sender is the drug dealers.

“During interrogation, he told us that he had received the consignment from another Nigerian. However, he has not revealed the name of the person,” said Gandhi.

“Charles was told that on reaching Mumbai he would get a call from a specific phone number. He had to tell his location to the caller,” said Gandhi.


NCB officials suspect that the receiver would also be a drug dealer as no consumer of heroin would buy the drug in such a large quantity. “Often those addicted to heroin, buy around 50 grams since it is a costly drug,” Gandhi said.

NCB will now be investigating about the frequency of Charles’s travels between New Delhi and Mumbai since he has admitted to carrying drugs consignment in the past as well.

Though Charles had been living in Mumbai since four years on a business visa, he used to travel between Nigeria and India frequently. Whether he used to carry drugs during his trips between the two countries has not been known.

On checking his passport, NCB officials also learnt that his visa had expired on February 28.
NCB suspects that the heroin seized from Madubueze is of Afghan origin.

According to NCB officials, the heroin which is usually found in India is little brown in colour while the one seized was white, which is found only in Afghanistan. Lately, smuggling of drugs from Afghanistan through Pakistan has increased, officials said.

During interrogation, Madubueze told investigators is HIV infected. However, NCB will conduct medical tests to confirm this.

“He must be saying that he is HIV infected so that we go soft on him or for gaining sympathy from us. But we will make him undergo a medical test to know the truth,” said NCB official.

Police in Ampang, Malaysia, are trying to identify the man who masturbated in front of a 53-year-old woman while both were riding in the elevator of an apartment unit at 4pm on Tuesday, March 6.

The video clip that has since gone viral, shows a tudung -wearing woman enduring the longest lift ride of her life, while the man casually self-services off next to the door while holding a phone in his right hand.

Drunk husband kills wife after sticking 16-inch-long 'mortar bomb' as intimacy gadget into her vagina (Photos)
A Peruvian woman was tragically killed after her husband allegedly used a mortar bomb as a intimacy gadget on her after they had been drinking for hours.

According to reports, Ruben Valera Cornejo and his wife, Yubitza Llerena de Meniburu were having sex inside their home in Arequipa, when he inserted a 16-inch-long, 2.4-inch-wide mortar bomb as intimacy gadget into her vagina.



Unfortunately, Mr.Ruben fell asleep, and when he woke up he found his wife unresponsive.

He was arrested on suspicion of murder, and explained to authorities that he was so drunk that he could not remember what happened to his wife.

Police chief Javier Arana said that the mortar, believed to be inactive and used as an ornament, was around 15.7 ins long and around 2.3 ins wide, meaning the mortar bomb didn't explode during the romp.



He added: 'Painkillers were also found and it is believed they were used to control the pain.'

Llerena's father Washington Llerena has called for late daughter's husband to be jailed.

'He should be jailed for what he did with my daughter. 'I will keep on fighting until the end.'

A BANGLADESHI passenger who reportedly stripped naked and attacked a stewardess during a flight from Malaysia has been arrested, the airline said overnight.

Shortly after the Malindo Air flight departed from Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, the 20-year-old took his clothes off and started watching pornography on his laptop, local media reported.

The man, a student at a Malaysian university, initially put his clothes back on at the request of cabin crew, the New Straits Times newspaper reported.


But he then tried to hug female crew members, and when his advances were rejected he became aggressive and attacked a stewardess, the paper said.

The cabin crew and passengers reportedly managed to subdue him and his hands were tied up with a piece of cloth for the rest of the flight.

The airline, a Malaysian subsidiary of an Indonesian company, declined to confirm all the details but said in a statement that a “disruptive passenger” was tied up on the flight to Dhaka, and was arrested on arrival.

It explained: ‘The crew on board has followed the standard operating procedure in restraining the passenger from causing further disruption on-board the flight.

“The disruptive passenger was accompanied by Dhaka security team upon arrival and he has been put to jail by the authorities there.

“The airline will continue to stay vigilant to ensure passengers travel soundly.”

The Sun Daily, meanwhile, quoted a man claiming to be a passenger on the plane.

He explained that the Bangladeshi man stripped naked and watched porn while “ignoring all those around him”.

“The cabin crew approached him and politely asked him to put on his clothes,” he added.

“He complied with their request. A short while later there was some commotion at the toilet area and it turned out that he was harassing a stewardess.”

Former Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta star and father of six, Stevie J, will spend some time behind bars for failing to pay child support.



The US Attorney Southern District of NY said in a statement that Stevie J will have to turn himself into authorities on April 10 after failing to pay $1.3 million worth of child support.


According to a TMZ reports, the cases are usually handled in state court, but it has been taken to Federal level because the women involved in it are from the different states.


Back in February 2017, Stevie pleaded guilty to failure to pay child support. He accepted full responsibility and had been ordered to pay over $1,304,835.86.


He was also placed on probation for 3 years until he pays off the child support.

The Imo State Police Command arrested a teenage mother and two child traffickers over the sale of her baby.



Parading the suspects alongside others arrested for various crimes, the State Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike, disclosed that one Chiamaka Njoku, 18, of Umuokpo Emeabiam Owerri West LGA of Imo state, took in outside wedlock, gave birth on December 10, 2017 and sold the baby girl at the cost of #120,000.00.

"She was impregnated by unidentified man out of wedlock. She left her parents house and was harboured by Okere Justice of the same address who contacted one Franca Chukwukere, the Proprietress of an illegal orphanage, Franca Gold Orphanage Lagos, where she remained until on 10/12/2017 when she put to bed. The baby girl was sold out at the cost of #300,000 and the sum of #120,000 sent to Chiamaka Njoku through Justice Okere. Two baby girls of one month three weeks and one month two weeks old respectively were recovered from the child trafficker" said Ezike.

Three members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) have been confirmed dead and 17 other persons injured in a suicide bomb attack that took place in Maiduguri, Borno state yesterday Monday March 5th.



A statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Joseph Kwaji, says the attack occurred at about 8: 30 pm at Muna Delti area in the outskirt of Maiduguri.


According to Kwaji, a male suicide bomber riding a bicycle detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) strapped to his body killing himself and three CJTF members in the area.


He said the 17 persons that were injured in the attack were evacuated to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for treatment.

According to him, the police EOD team had sanitized the area while normalcy had been restored.

A gang of five cultists butchered an officer of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corp, Mr. Moshood Bolaji at a bar in Surulere area of Lagos, Nigeria. Bolaji was killed on Wednesday at about 9:30pm at Umunede Bar in Mallam Isah close, Aguda-Surulere by a suspected gang of five cultists.



He was said to have been held down and slaughtered by the cultists after gunshots at him did not penetrate. However, the Lagos State Police Command has launched a man hunt for the killers of the officer. The State’s Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal who paid a condolence visit to the family of the Aguda-Surulere office of the Corps, said he had directed a contingent of Special Anti Robbery Squad personnel (SARS) and the personnel of the Command Anti-Cultism Squad to relocate to Census Police Outpost, Aguda-Surulere with immediate effect.
