Let him educate you, it's called a coastal road because it passes through all the states that has coastlines in Nigeria. Driving along it for most parts, you won't see the coastline. For Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, and some parts of Ondo states, shoreline is littered with rivets, deltas, impassable mangrove swamps and marshes where it will be pointless building a road through
So most of the road will pass through dry land away from the shoreline. That's it. If you don't like the development, don't use it when they finish it. Simple.

Ondo is relatively safe, so why not. We really need a huge animal park game reserve along this coastal road.
