Nairaland GeneralCrisis Rocks Akwa Ibom Female Students Association (aifsa) Worldwide by akamba01(op): 1:29pm On Feb 18, 2016
CRISIS ROCKS AIFSA WORLDWIDE
- Idongesit Micah indicted for fraud
- May be charged soon
- Governor's aide calls for calm
JOHN OBOT - Uyo
Female students in Akwa Ibom State have set for a showdown if the needful is not done to probe the outgoing president of Akwa Ibom Female Students Association (AIFSA) Worldwide, Comrade Idongesit Micah. They have also formerly suspended her and constitutionally instituted a new Caretaker Executive Council headed by Comrade Ofonmbuk Edet of the Akwa Ibom State University.
However, the change of government is unconnected with the crisis that erupted this week's Tuesday, when Idongesit Micah connived with security agencies to order the arrest of over 250 students who were genuinely protesting at a venue for a purported female students summit organized by Akwa Ibom Female students Association (AIFSA).
This reporter has, however, scooped from top female students leaders in the state that the change of government is sequel to the refusal of Comrade Idongesit Micah to constitute an Electoral Committee for the purpose of power transition, almost a year after she graduated and proceeded on the mandatory National Youth Service and, of course, her indictment for fraud to the tune of almost Four Million, Two Hundred Thousand Naira (4,200,000).
This reporter also gathered that , except in the event of a last minute change of mind, the new AIFSA Worldwide Caretaker Executive Council has concluded arrangements to take legal actions against Comrade Idongesit Micah and few others over offences bordering on forgery, impersonation, conversion and stealing of public property during the period she served as president of the Association, however renowned for its strong advocacy for gender rights.
In a telephone interview, Comrade Ofonmbuk Edet, the new Caretaker President of the Association, admitted that Idongesit Micah has lost the confidence of all female students in the state, and that she has been indicted by the Executive Council of the Association for fraud and criminal enrichment and has, subsequently, been suspended from office, pending when the AIFSA Worldwide Disciplinary Committee clears her, or otherwise, of all charges in the impending crime.
According to Comrade Ofonmbuk Edet, who spoke on the heels of a rally, shortly after an explosive students riot was quelled when Idongesit Micah ordered the security men to arrest thousands of female Students who were protesting at a venue she (Idongesit) illegally convened a students summit earlier billed to hold at University of Uyo but relocated to a location at Ewet housing after the riot in report which is tied to Comrade Micah's continual hold onto power, suppression of the Association's constitution, embezzlement of funds and other organizational incomes. " yes, it is true Comrade Idongesit Micah is now history to our association, we collectively regret all the hardship her ill-fated tenure caused people and other stakeholders, but we are glad today to heave a sigh of relief, she has been suspended and a new interim government put in place. She must even be probed and prosecuted for the various crimes she felt do not count. She must account for everything she did with our funds, and we are not joking"
Meanwhile, the Senior Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom state Governor on students affairs, Comrade Otobong Akpan, has called for calm, urging all factions in the female students union to pursue their grievances and other disagreements within the rule of law, and in ways that will advance the leadership training aspects of students unionism.
In an exclusive chat with this reporter on phone, Comrade Otobong Akpan, the Governor's aide on students affairs, implored female students to keep their calm and trust her to resolve the crisis rocking AIFSA in a short while. According to her " I am not pleased with the sudden agitation in AIFSA, but I will not also negate my commitment to ensure we work as a group to achieve our aims and goals. However, both parties must sheath their swords and trust my confidence to restore peace. We must act in line with the ideals that will build better friendship and deepen the principles of a fair, just and egalitarian Democratic society"

WebmastersThe No Pain, All Gain Reasons You Should Dump Radio/tv Advertising In 2016. by akamba01(op): 9:08am On Feb 07, 2016
Probably you haven't given it a thought, but there are huge benefits and enormous advantages in shunning the cutthroat priced world of radio/TV advertising and focus on using the latest, cost effective, fast and reliable advertising technology - BULK SMS!
In this article, I will tell you the secrets/
advantages behind this speedy means of reaching your target audience.

1. EASE OF REACHING A LARGE GROUP OF PERSONS.
If you have ever tried using your phone to send SMS to many people at a time, you will find out how difficult it can get. Besides the cost (N4.00K)of sending each message, you will spend more time and energy trying to achieve your goal.
However, with Bulk SMS, you can reach out to millions of people within seconds. All you need to do is to type your message and click "send" and the message reaches all the numbers in the recipient box. So, if you are looking to advertise your business, events, school, church program etc. Consider using Bulk SMS.

2. VERY AFFORDABLE/CHEAP SERVICE
If you have ever tried using radio or TV to advertise your services, you can easily relate to what I am saying here. You will agree with me that while reaching about 10,000 persons over the radio or TV will render you broke (figuratively) except you have a big budget, using Bulk SMS to get across to the same number of persons will cost you next to nothing.
Therefore, with Bulk SMS, you save a lot of money and increase your return on investment.

3. REACHING YOUR AUDIENCE PERSONALLY
You will notice that whenever an SMS (text message) gets to your phone, you will suspend other tasks to read through it. You will agree with me that the easiest way I can get your attention, other than calls, is through SMS.
Whatever the content of your message, you can be sure that 99% of the recipient will get to read what you sent.
On the other hand, you cannot say the same of radio or TV and all the other forms of information dissemination. How many people actually listen to radio or watch TV at any given time? How many of the numerous adverts that get aired on radio/TV that you actually listen to? I can be sure its a few.

4. EASE OF CUSTOMIZATION
With bulk SMS you can customize the look and "feel" of you message. You can use your name, your business name or just any name you wish as the sender ID (name that appears on recipient's phone, instead of your phone number). You can schedule your message to deliver automatically at a future date (suitable for alerts, notifications, anniversaries, birthday wishes etc.) In fact with bulk SMS, you are the chief designer of your message.

The above four are just a few reasons you should be looking at dumping radio/TV and keying into the cheap, easy, fast and efficient world of bulk SMS.

To get you started in your path of superb communication using bulk SMS, I strongly recommend using Nigeria's cheapest, fastest and most reliable bulk sms service provider - AKAMBA SMS - www.akambasms.com. they offer free SMS, fast and reliable service etc. Signing up with them is free and you get free units upon sign up and their service is very cheap. Just log in to their portal now - www.akambasms.com to find out other benefits.

Goodluck!

- THE REAL POINT ABOUT SMOKING AND HEALTH -

You probably know plenty about the way smoking compromises your health. We do not want to go over familiar ground again, but there is more to it than you may realize.

Everybody knows about the big serial killers like lung cancer and heart disease. And the really horrible humiliating things like chronic bronchitis and emphysema. But it's possible to push those out of your mind, or convince yourself that it's an acceptable risk.

What no smoker can avoid is the gradual, bit by bit erosion of your general physical condition. It's not just about your chest getting clogged up with tar, making you tired and wheezy.

Every time you smoke, along with the nicotine, you're putting all sorts of poisonous chemicals into your bloodstream. So you're constantly starving every organ and muscle in your body of oxygen and other things it needs.

Your skin, your eyes, and your hair are all ageing more quickly. You're growing old before your time: smoking is linked with premature menopause and with impotence. If you hurt yourself it takes longer for the wound to heal.

On top of that, you're laying yourself more open to any other disease that might come along. You're more prone to skin cancer, diabetes, varicose veins, eyesight problems, and fertility problems - even tooth decay.

Of course, all this is rather remote. Lots of smokers just can't - or won't - see what it is doing to them with every day that passes. I used to kid myself that as long as I kept my lungs working running, I would get away with it. Of course, all that deep breathing just made it worse.

I fell for all the usual stories at first. I couldn't see any real difference between my capabilities and those of the non-smokers around me.

We all hear about people smoking all their lives without apparently suffering any ill effects. And we all manage to keep the really bad news at a distance.

It worked pretty well for me: I ignored the problem, and it really did seem to go away. But of course it wasn't going away. It was there all the time, gradually eating away at me.

That is a very important point to understand: that smoking isn't a game of chance, that lighting a cigarette isn't playing Ludo with the possibility of lung cancer or a heart attack, it is self harming behavior, repeated several times a day, thousands of times a year.

When you stop smoking, the improvements happen gradually too, almost imperceptibly.

But just let somebody else notice after a couple of weeks how much better you're looking, and it will become obvious to you too.

At that point, once you're out of the woods, you can safely look back and remember how you used to feel, how you used to look, and finally realize what it must have been doing to you all those years. And feel the joy of knowing that those days are over for good.

Keep a date with me for a continuation of this very interesting topic. Tomorrow I will be talking about “THE GRAND ILLUSION!” Don’t miss it! Visit our blog on http://www.favourhouse..com/ . WELCOME!
Nairaland General10 Steps To Overcoming Indecency Addiction by akamba01(op): 8:58am On Jul 10, 2014
1. First, you must acknowledge the addiction exists. Many who are caught in the trap of addiction will adamantly deny the problem.
"He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion." - Proverbs 28:13

2. You must recognize that what you are doing is wrong. Addicts find a way to justify their problem in their mind.
"For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world." - I John 2:16

3. You must not blame others – “If my wife/husband were just more affectionate.” … “If women/men were not so seductive.” Adam blamed Eve and she blamed the serpent. Instead, you must begin to take responsibility for your actions.

4. Make yourself accountable to a spiritual authority, perhaps a pastor or mature believer. Everybody needs a “safe” person to share their struggles with. "Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much." - James 5:16

5. You must recognize that “will power” is not the answer. At a weak moment, your “will” may fail you. By admitting that you are in need of God’s help, you open access to His supernatural intervention in your life. You must yield your will to God’s will. That’s when He can begin a new work in your life.

6. Study the Word of God concerning sexual purity. "Therefore putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the Word implanted, which is able to save your souls." – James 1:21

7. You must destroy any pornography in your possession. You can’t wean yourself off pornography. Think of the hidden pornography in your home as a ticking time bomb that will ultimately destroy your family.

8. You must learn to flee temptation. Self-deception may enter when you think you can play with fire without getting burned. "Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not proceed in the way of evil men. Avoid it, do not pass by it. Turn away from it and pass on." – Proverbs 4:14,15

9. Give yourself time to work through the process of recovery. More often than not, God chooses to take us through a learning and growing process, that can be very painful. Victory over addiction should be viewed as a marathon, not a sprint.

10. It’s cliche, but you must approach your addiction one day at a time. Look for little victories and rejoice in the progress you’re making. Recovery is a cinch by the inch, but a trial by the mile.
