HelenaWills:
Good morning TV gurus.
I have this 50" Sony Bravia smart TV that I bought in 2021.
I returned from work to see that my little nephew and niece had broken the screen and instead of fixing it, I decided to get a new one.
But recently for some reasons, I decided to fix the TV after being abandoned for about 2 years. I had the screen replaced and I confirmed it was working perfectly while it was with the repairer. I sent someone to bring it home (I wasn't around at the time). While I returned after about 2 weeks, I turned it on and noticed four vertical lines on it. I am not sure if it fell or anything but the lines weren't obstructing the view and I decided to look past it.
But in less than a month, it started flickering, like it now flickers so much that I can't even enjoy watching it again. The money I spent on logistics and screen replacement could comfortably get me a new one and it's painful. My questions anyways are, was I sold a damaged screen or something happened to it during conveyance? Or the over two years abandonement could be a cause of this? Is there a solution please, TV experts?

Cc
Alabaconnect and whoever could help.

Good evening. Sorry for the late response. Most lines like this come from poor packaging when moving the tv. I can't say for Samsung and LG but replacement screens on some brands are Korean screens. They are strong if they are direct but if they have been worked on once, they get weak. If you want to get your screen replaced (If you would want to), make sure they do the whole magic in front of you. No soldering of anything.

Psady:
In my opinion I say toshiba for picture quality but can't tell about durability because both are durable, still waiting response from alabaconnect to throw more light on this ,they are gurus in this field.

I have had the opportunity to check a tv for 2 different customer. One for Toshiba and the other for Panasonic (Both on recent model sets). Panasonic has a very sharp display especially on their black "oled-like screens". The only downside with Panasonic is that their power consumption is way high. Sold one 2020/21 model last year to a Nairalander at Ibadan or so and he called that it wasn't coming on. Turned out his light hasn't full. Had to wait for a better current or when he use generator. If you can afford Samsung, LG or even hisense, just go for that. They consume less.

freshdudeyeeks:
Please, between Toshiba and Panasonic, which one has a better picture quality and durability?

For me o, Panasonic has a better display (Using their recent model sets to judge). Sorry for the late response
