On d issues of indiscriminate dumping of refuse in our state's metropolis...the situation is quite appalling,,i think the commissioner 4 works or so should look critically on how we can revive d state's waste disposal. These things ain't rocket science...with d high population density of Onitsha and d state as a whole,Anambra state should be able to cater 4 d populace in terms of waste clearance and disposal...what happens 2 d tax collected from landlords, shop owners, market sellers etc? A part of Those taxes and levies should be able to pay workers in d waste disposal and make them responsible 4 keeping our cities neat.

Though d situation of Onitsha has abated a bit..i still remember flying dirty gutters, stepping on dead animals, excreta, piles of rubbish as a teen in the early 2000s after landing in Onitsha lol..i think Onitsha and Lagos were competing in terms of city dirts then.

But we dont want Onitsha going back 2 that era anymore. Those responsible should do d needful. Not only Onitsha even Awka. A dumpsite should be provided 4 wastes, waste trolleys, waste dumping points should be provided as we see in other beautiful cities...pple should be made to go dump their trash at those points, which will be collected every 1/2wks, waste trucks should be provided..our own IVM can help with d supply of this na.

We should be able 2 manage our cities 4 future possible investments.

Governance aint rocket science...is it?
With 2bn naira you can solve waste disposal problem in the whole state. You see its not the issue of money but the people who are running the state. The governor has no idea. He barely has a vision. In 8yrs you budget 130bn every year and you cant find 2bn to buy waste trucks for every local government and build landfill sites and waste recycling centres? This is what happens when a state is captured by Apga members, traditional, rulers, church, sychophants. There will and can not be any major progress.
Anambra needs a governor who has ideas and keeps all those i mentioned away from governance. They are private citizens and should do their own bit like many other businessmen by building roads etc and stop holding the state to ransom under a cabal. Now all we see is our people singing carols up and down but how many of them can code or programme a software? We are in a mess.

Stupid hopeless illiterate that doesn't even know what's governance. If it is that easy your useless good for nothing father would have contested to rule his umunna.

Obiano is among the few best governors in Nigeria. He built roads, bridges, flyovers, now building ICC, stadium and most importantly international airport. In all these projects, he is still meeting his monthly. Something most Nigeria governors has failed to do.

Even your useless conjectures on this thread cannot change the position of Obiano as being among the few best performing governors in Nigeria. Stop coming here to spew nonsense, go and face your backward state.

[s][/s]
How many monikers do you have? Yesterday its was imaxdocuments and today something else. You keep talking about father. I have realised your a bastard with mental issues and this is what is disturbing you. Many did not have fathers but learnt to be men. Its nit too late for you.
Now those 3flyovers are the worst ever scene and what makes it more strange is the governor decided to give that same company the contract for the taxiway at airport. We are hoping and praying that obiano delivers a quality project at airport, icc, stadium but to say he is one of the best governors is not an achievement in Nigeria.
Ebonyi,Kano,Kaduna,Akwa Ibom, Rivers and 1 or 2 others are doing infratsructure projects that are quality even if its little things like a road. See how its turning the visual of the states. Why does Anambra still look like a giant village? Why couldnt this man obiano taken the plan for Awka,Onitsha,Nnewi and spent all the money on urban renewal in 8yrs to truly transform the state. He has been spending money on illeterate advisors, church, so called traditional rulers and Apga members. Why do we need stadium now? That money should of built an international market in Awka. Look at EkeAwka and you are telling me obiano is this and that. 2021 is here. Choose wisely and improve your life. 25k a month or whatever they pay you to act like a dog is not worth it.

You are an îdiõt.. Is the construction finished? why can't you criticize like one who has brains.. Jewsus wept!!!! fõöl
Is the construction finished? We can see the stage its at. Is that how you build a football stadium? Stadium is the word that you need to understand? World class pitch and no terrace till when? Mediocre project to satisfy mediocre people like you. A place is reflected by its inhabitants. The more visionless and uneducated sychophants that praise there elected officials the more money is siphoned and substandard work delivered. 2021 is here. Choose wisely in November. A man can not give you what he doesnt have. Let me know when the will build the seats so my people dont have to stand in the sun on the sand next to a world class pitch.

From my forensic observation MKtinsight isn't OgbajiIfeanyi on twitter.

Abeg those two are two different persons.

Then back 2 d matter...i would appreciate if y'all(those on d opposing and proposing sides) give ur points/arguments without cussing...it distorts our reading Thank you

I pray d airport's construction is handled and finished in due time so that Willie will focus on our roads.

I think an alternative route should be provided from around Eke Awka axis,,,i stand 2 be corrected. Last Christmas was hell around the market area...keke here and there, shuttles, buses all held in d gridlock. So many buyers and sellers hanging on d tiny road. My experience on d 24th wasnt so good.

The traffic from Enugwu uku down 2 Abagana was another hell biko.
Also what's been done 2 d Enugwu agidi road lying in waste now turned a dump site?

Our roads needs serious works...and if roads must be constructed or repaired, it should be done in its totality not tarring d main side of d road and leaving the 'red sand' portion untarred too. In fact, that portion should have a pavement known as pedestrian walk side and it should be completely tarred. Let's be trying to do away with d red sand signature on our roads...it makes d state looks dirty and dusty.

Honestly speaking I'm enjoying this thread

God bless Willie Obiano..
God bless Anambra State
God bless d SE region
Forget Obiano. He has done his best and its still very mediocre. Just look at the stadium you are building with no stands and seats. How will people watch the games? Is it by standing on the sound outskirt of the pitch? Unbelievable!

Young man. You were told before to conduct yourself properly. Failure? You have not seen or know who is typing. For you to make this comment has indicated to me not only your awareness level but education. You have a lot to learn but you maybe too far gone.

[quote author=Landmack post=97824960]But constructive criticism should be tolerated here without trading insults.

The airport construction is already in public eye and don't expect pple not to criticise in which ever way they deem fit.

For me const-criticisms are welcomed cause that's d only thing that keeps those we elected on their toes in Nigeria.

Y'all easy with d cussing here even though some of it cracks me up.

Let me go back 2 @OgbajiIfeanyi's wall on twitter 2 continue reading tweets and opinions.[/quote

The society we are growing in the east is getting very bad! All they do is shout argue and insult and dont know how to discuss or debate. I can not see a healthy society growing but a very dangerous and uneducated and unproductive society. They dont want to learn how to build and improve in quality of life. They just want noise and loud lifestyle that they see on tv. We need total reorientation and massive investment in education. Our reasoning level is soo poor. Its sad what we are becoming.

This shows you don't know anything.
Bus terminal supposed to be bigger because more people travels by road More than those who travel by air.
If Anambra are to build bus terminal, we will build bus terminal that can handle more than 50million passengers annually because those who uses bus are large than those who uses aircrafts.

For the control tower.
The total floors of the control tower building is 12floors, including the tower shaft, control cab, radar, non op, etc.
So in Anambra Airport Air Control tower, the tower shaft is erected on 7floors, the one you counted as 8floor is the junction level, then the rest (radar, cab, control, op, etc) will be erected on the remaining 5floors. So the base building will be build behind the control tower and it must connect with the tower Shaft.
So stop talking about what you don't know.

Look below the image, you will understand better, thank you.
Ok. Its at junction level and control cab remaining that will span 5 floors? Lets say your right. Next. If Anambra was to build a bus terminal. We would build a terminal for 50million passengers in Anambra?
Ok. I think i will leave this matter to you. Your the expert.

Mind you it's the longest runway in Nigeria and Africa, the total runway length is 4.5Kilometres.
The R runway thresholds is 400metres, the L runway thresholds while the main runway is 3.7kilometres making it 4.5, even MMA or Abuja airport doesn't have runway thresholds.
The runway is built in a way that aircrafts can land on the either sides that's on both the left and right of the runway, even MMA or Abuja airport doesn't have it.

For the terminal buildings, there are plans to construct more terminal in future time, just that the first phase of the airport project will be ready by April this year
This is why we are were we are. You have been to the airport and seen terminal but yet you have lived in denial to even what your eyes can see and abandon all rational thought to convince yourself that that buiding can process 7 to 10million people. The bus terminal in lagos is bigger! That i am dissapointed in. Does it have aero bridge? Or will people walk out in amd out of the plane on the apron. The aero bridge is the only thing that can save the size of that airport. It should of been twice the size. The control tower is 8 floors not 12. Count the window type openings and they have started on the control room so no more height! We are all happy for the airport but dont live in denial. What is not there is not there.

Anambra should aim to build bus terminals epecially in major cities to grow revenue and to organize mass transit.

Look at what Rwanda is doing with its City Bus Terminal:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnWZBwtuUEQ

Or Tanzania's massie Luis Mbezi Bus Terminal

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jt2dDRZGL8
My brother. I. feel your pain. We are better than this. That bus terminal in Rwanda is better than every single government project in our state. We are in a mess. Education, Infrastructure etc Roads dirty untapped sand everywhere falling apart, Markets all over the place. We are really in a mess. We need someone who will bulldoze the state and rebuild. I think the problem is the governor to the staff and commissioners have no vision or taste. Just look at flyovers in Awka even the airport am hoping but what I have seen of terminal and size is very disappointing. How are we going to get out of this mess? Anambra can not talk to Rwanda. Yes we may have people with money but we are light years behind. Too think these people had 1million dead in a civil war only 25yrs ago. We were nearly 60yrs and look at the difference. Rwandans may not have money like us but they have human capital development. I bet you they don't watch big brother nail all day and zee world. I bet you the girls don't behave like our own and prostitute themselves up and down. I bet you the guys don't spend all there time in cults and rituals.

In Igboland, we are lucky to have cities and towns that keep evolving as time goes by unlike other parts of Nigeria or even Africa where slums constitute a significant part of their cities. However, our biggest problem is that government has failed to keep pace with urbanization. You will see areas with fine houses lining up the streets yet terrible roads, open drains and zero aesthetics.

State governments should even pass a law that any house with spaces must either plant grass on it or use gravel to cover the red earth. We live in a globalized world and perception is very important.
Nothing but the truth. Individual although not perfect have done exceptionally well both home and diaspora to bring some wealth and build a mansion or small structure but government from day one has been a failure! How can you see streets flooded with mansions but the government can not build world class road to enable the state to turn into a finest world location. Instead they will spend money on special advisers and local cabal to loot the money on expenses. 2021 we must get it right! If not for this airport we would really be sad because 8 yrs and nothing to show. I was even dissapointed they gave idc contract for taxiway after that rubbish they built as 3 flyovers in awka. Our people are our problem. Not Buhari. Not the North but our own.

Update on Anambra airport runway
Still on asphalting
Good. Hope they plant grass on all sand next to runway, taxiway. The landscaping should be quality not dust blowing all over the place like sand on side of our roads. Once they can put runway lighting and landing systems then the size of the terminal can be forgiven for now. What we want is progress and slowly the airport will enable that.

Idiots from hell, why is Anambra airport bothering you people? What's it that's breaking you guy's hearts that Anambra is gonna have the international airport soon? Has those states with airport done anything better than Anambra in the areas of infrastructures? NO. Instead Anambra has done far better than them in all areas of development.

Make una continue crying, I dey here. cool

Nigeria, Africa is passing you by. This is Kakamega Town in western kenya the 10th largest town in Kenya. Not 1, 2, or 3 TENTH. Look at the roads and planning.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCXEJYb64DM

This is Kisumu, Western Kenya the THIRD largest city in Kenya. Again look at the planning. No dirty markets or 10x10 shops litering the sides of the roads. Parking lanes, pavements, trees, marked roads, no pot holes.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AK1I3zbMuBk
First off. Your frustration for quality is the same with many of us. Ignore that idiot! You see the reason why our place doesnt look like this or better is because of fools like that littered across our land. If we had more people thinking and talking like you then our place would look like that. Anambra needs an airport! We cant wait any longer. 2021 is the year for election. We are lucky. Now we have the chance to elect someone who will do all what we are saying. We need quality and not mediocre projects all over the place. No taste. All they know is sharing rice and small change to these hungry sychophants.
