daveP: Vicmo and Etebo are the only SE players that i think are capable of scoring that Arda Guler screamer. Abi Nacho can? Nacho can. I don't remember Vicmo hitting any long-rangers though. |

Seeing the Denmark team knocking the ball around with ease brought jealousy to my mind. When we go reach this level? |

Mujtahida: Finidi's mistake walahi was his changing from Peseiro's tactics. Now this is not to say Peseiro's tactics was the best.
Thing is that the players just 4 months ago immersed themselves into that system. Finidi should not have abruptly changed into tiki taka mode.
Trying to play tiki taka don finish Finidi. He should have used Peseiro's tactics to get us over the line first before switching tactics. Playing defensively against SA is understandable. Against Benin, it would have been very shameful to do so with the massive gulf in quality between our players and theirs. I honestly don't know what to blame. Our players looked quite lackluster, the general team play wasn't clicking.....a lot of things were off but parking the bus was definitely not an option. Atletico Madrid is largely considered a defensive team. But do you think they will play defensively against relegation zone teams in Spain? |

Subzerooo: I've never seen someone contradict himself so much I said Finidi's employment was justifiable. That doesn't mean I think it was the best option. It only means I can understand the NFF's reasoning in choosing him. But since he has shown he isn't quite ready for the job, I would have loved him to get a chance to grow on the job since he has already been employed. This culture of hire today, fire tomorrow will never work for us. How many coaches have we hired and fired since Rohr? How has that helped?. Since Finidi has stepped down, the NFF has a chance to make a better choice now. |

TheGoodJoe: What made Finidi's appointment justifiable? A coach without a UEFA Pro Coaching License or equivalent. It was just politics to remove Amunike from getting the job. That is all. His experience coaching the team at the last AFCON in assisting capacity. It would make sense to assume he knew the players' strengths and weaknesses more than other candidates. Remember we had little time to prepare for the qualifiers so, picking someone who was already "on the ground" was a justifiable move in my opinion. |

Would have loved for him to stay a bit longer though and try to save his reputation. Now everybody will always remember him as the guy who lost to Benin Republic in a WC qualifier.
Many will blame the NFF for hiring him in the first place but I think his employment was justifiable.
Poor knowledge of tactics failed him. The argument that he didn't have time to get used to the team is a bad one since he served as an assistant coach on this same team during the AFCON, watching them at close range. Any coach worth his salt would have transited seamlessly into the head coach role.
Good riddance anyways. If he knows what's good for him, he should go on some coaching refresher courses before taking his next gig because he clearly still has a lot to learn tactically. |

Finidi is màd. So he wanted a half-fit Osimhen to come and start over a fit Boniface and Moffi?
A good coach should be able to beat Benin even with a 100% NPFL team. |

Deltamani: 🇪🇸🇫🇷🏴🇩🇪🇺🇸🇸🇪🇯🇵🇨🇦🇧🇷🇰🇵
The latest #FIFARanking has dropped! 📲
••• This is where the European teams have an advantage given they're playing qualifiers for the 2025 EUROS. So I'm not surprised the US dropped below Germany despite winning the Women's Gold Cup and She Believes Cup.
••• You have to beat teams rank higher than you to gain this massive points
••• Still wondering how Korea DPR🇰🇵 (North Korea) are in top10, while Australia ain’t there..
••• NFF give us those top20 teams for friendly games and I’m very much certain than not more than 5 can beat the SuperFalcons hands down.. Defensively we have improved a lot, Randy just need to find the best trio that work well for us upfront..! Especially at No.9 and Kanu’s Position… Use Friendly games to try One or two of this forwards.! Lol. I don't really follow female football that much but how did North Korea end up in the top ten? Can't remember seeing them at the knockout stages of any female world cup. |
