Alright, for anyone who might not know the full story, let me break it down. Back on October 7, Hamas terrorists/so called Palestinians crossed into Israel and kidnapped the Bibas family, including tiny babies who were literally taken from their home.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago: the father was released as part of a hostage deal. But just hours ago, Hamas sent over coffins claiming to hold the bodies of the babies, their mother, and another hostage. Here’s the kicker: when it was checked, **e realized the body Hamas said was the mom wasn’t her at all, it was someone else. Basically, Hamas tried to pull a fast one on Israel, making it look like it was the mom's body.

Now, here’s where it gets even worse. The autopsy just came back, and it shows the kids were strangled to death by Hamas and then mutilated with rocks to make it seem like an airstrike did it. I mean, seriously, why would anyone do something like that? Why strangle and brutalize little babies?

Did anyone also observe that there's been a huge surge of Hamas supporters lately, trying to spin the story and blame Israel’s bombings for the babies’ deaths. But now we know the truth, this was straight-up murder. How can anyone defend that?

I expected this, the security personnel will swerve from chasing the initial named herdsmen and start arresting locals who may revealel the real suspects, then frame them with being accessories to the crime and immediately start brutalysing them till they extract a forced confession, or if the person dies, they will accuse the person of attacking police.

In the next episode, the story will change and you will hear stories like, police arrests those who killed people in nkalagu, and no herdsmen will be seen among those rounded up.

You, like most children of the post Babangida era who know no better because they never witnessed the era of intellect in government have defined intelligence by financial success. You don’t need to be intelligent in Nigeria to be rich. If anything financial success in Nigeria is determined by one’s penchant for corruption, criminality and illegality.

There is no derailment. The military era frrom 1984-1999 altered our public space. The result was intelligent people stayed away from government and I agree with ElRufai, financially successful “illiterates” took over the machinery of government.

It is because you are a product of that era that you do not know the difference. When I was growing up people like Peter Obi and Atiku would never have reached the political heights that have. They do because the intelligent people stayed away from politics and created the vacuum which they filled. Even ElRufai’s journey into politics was an accident. Compare Okpara, Zik, Mbadiwe, Sam Mbakwe to Peter Obi. He is not fit to lace their shoes intellectually. Similarly, Atiku. ElRufai is one of a few politicians that can compare intellectually and sit comfortably with the great politicians of old.
