What makes moringa so unique is that all these properties are 100 per cent natural, whereas most multivitamins and calcium supplements available on the market are made using synthetic ingredients that the human body absorbs very minimal nutrients from.

An experiment was carried out to determine the effect of M.oleifera leaves extract on male sexual behaviours in animal model of sexual dysfunction.
A male Wistar rat, weighing 200 to 250grammes, had been orally given M.oleifera leaves extract at doses of 10, 50 and 250 mg kg-1 BW once daily at 30 minutes before the exposure to a 12-hour immobilisation stress for 14 days. Their male sexual behaviours were assessed including mounting, intromission and ejaculation numbers and latencies after single administration and every seven days until the end of experiment. To further investigate the possible mechanisms of action, the serum testosterone level of all rats at the end of the experiment together with the suppression effect of the plant extract on MAOB and PDE-5 activities was also determined.
The results showed that after single administration, rats subjected to M.oleifera extract at dose of 10 mg kg-1 BW significantly enhanced mounting number. When the treatment was prolonged to seven days rats subjected to the low dose of extract showed the enhanced intromission number whereas rats subjected to high dose of extract showed the enhanced mounting number. The data also showed no significant change in serum testosterone level. However, the extract could also suppress MAOB and PDE-5 activities. Taken all together, the extract could enhance male sexual desire and performance via the suppression of MAOB and PDE-5 activities. The study recommended further study regarding the treatment of sexual dysfunction M. oleifera leaf extract.
Ajobiewe maintained that sugar related problems like diabetes have also contributed to sexual dysfunction, stating that “Dead Sea Moringa is now one of the most promising supplements for men wanting to maintain normal blood sugar levels. Scientific research indicates that it has a positive effect on normal glucose levels in the blood. It is important to note that studies have revealed that used freshly harvested Moringa leaves that were dried in sunlight and broken into powder has been proven to be effective. The supplement should be taken consistently over time to deliver maximum results.
“Other issues Moringa address in the body that could naturally transcend to improvement in sexual activities is weight loss. But it should also be stated that though Moringa could be credited as a miracle plant, when you continuously eat unhealthily, the plant may just not be able to help you effectively.

An 18-year-old man, Happy Eforpor, of Edere-Aviara in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State has been arrested for threatening to kill a girl and her mother if the girl refused his love advances.

Police surveillance team received information that Eforpor, in company with two suspected cult members, went to the house of one Fejiro Independence in the same locality and asked her to be his girlfriend. But the she refused. Irked by her refusal, the suspects started to exchange words with the girl and when her mother tried to intervene, Eforpor pulled out a locally-made pistol and threatened to shoot them.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Celestina Kalu, disclosed this in Asaba yesterday. She said: “On receipt of the information, detectives were quickly despatched to the scene and arrested the said Happy Eforpor.” The PPRO, however, Eforpor’s accomplice, Samson Dick, escaped. Kalu said one Oghenemaro Onowo of Edere-Aviara town, who allegedly aided the escape of the said Dick, was also arrested. She listed the items recovered from Eforpor to include a locally-made pistol and one expended cartridge.

The PPRO added that investigation was on while efforts had been intensified to apprehend the fleeing Dick. Meanwhile, two suspected armed robbers have died during a shootout with policemen at Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. The gunmen stormed the Rice Mill junction on old Ogoja Road, Abakaliki and the Mechanic Village and dispossessed a couple of N250,000 realised from sales of rice.

The robbers also went into the Mechanic Village and attacked a scrap dealer. They were later confronted by some policemen who arrived the scene following a distress call. Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP George Okafor, said policemen went to the area immediately they received the distress call.

He said: “On sighting policemen, the hoodlums opened fire on them and the policemen responded. The robbers were later overpowered and the robbers were gunned down.” The PPRO disclosed that cash was recovered by the police at the end of the gun battle and that the pistol which the hoodlums used in the robbery was also recovered.

Okafor warned criminals to leave the state or be ready to meet their waterloo. He also appealed to the people to continue to volunteer information on the activities of criminals to the police.
