Your question is not clear to me. If you mean the number of quantity to bring in as a wholesaler, it can be 5000-10,000 cartons of light. Other wholesalers in Alaba can buy 500-1000 cartons from you at once and it will be going small small. The price range is 50 RMB per 1 carton x 5000 cartons. Profit is 3-4k per carton x 5000.

For oil, it might not do 100% but close, just depends on available supply, demand and weather. Last year, 1 keg bought for 40+k and went as high as 70+k in November. I’m talking of 25 litre gallon
Haven’t heard back from you … should I take that as you are not interested

Cost of property (built up or bare land) depends on your choice location. However, considering the business idea, ideal locations such as Ikeja GRA, Surulere,Gbagada,Lekki,Ikoyi and V/Island would range between N50m to N200m for Outright purchase and between N20m to N80m for long lease.

Thereafter, renovations or possible remodelling of the property (if the property is on long lease, as stated on your lease agreement) including furnishing and provision of amenities might cost you N8m to N10m (or even less, provided you are working with professionals and its directly supervised by you or your confidant).

Finally, you run your adverts and start your shortletting. Locations and available facilities determine the rates per day. Certain location costs within N100 000 to N250,000 per day. Most celebrities, nollywood professionals, patronise this property type a lot. Most guys on short visit from their base abroad are also on client list, likewise gen-z folks that rent such properties for their house parties.

Another real estate investment opportunity is LAND BANKING. Where you sign an agreement with the real estate company and invest an amount ranging from N100,000 and up to billions for 12months,18months or 24months period and you get within 40% to 100% (depending on the amount and tenure) of your invested capital paid to you at the expiratory of your contractual agreement. This is a business option that have been operating for almost 10 years successfully. Once interested you visit the office, make your investment and get the following documents issued to you instantly:'
1. Receipt for invested amount, acknowledging your payment.
2. Contract of sale document binding on the client and the real estate company.
3. Post dated cheque authorising you to cash your full payment ( capital + % profit) on the day of contract expiration directly into your bank without any need visiting the office.

Our major investors are those Ladipo and Ojo Alaba business men and women, likewise some corporate clients who use the medium to secure their yearly annual rent by investing in the 12months package.

I'm reachable via WhatsApp in case you want to reach faster. Please I don't attend to any GET-RICH-QUICK topic.
I'm a realtor by profession along some other legit businesses I do on the side. I don't believe in fast money.
Apologies for my late reply, I rarely visit Nairaland due to busy schedule especially on other online fora.

Have a great week ahead.
thanks so much for sharing this. It definitely sounds interesting. Just a few quick questions I’d love to get clarity on land banking :

1. What’s the full name of your company, and are you registered with the CAC?
2. You mentioned this plan has been running for almost 10 years… could you kindly share proof of past payouts or completed projects? And would it be possible to speak with one or two previous investors?
3. last but not the least , What documents do I receive upon investing? Are they legally binding?
In the event the company is unable to pay at maturity, is there any legal backing… such as a court-enforceable clause or agreement … that protects the investor?

Thank you so much for the well detailed response. I really appreciate you taking the time to share all this.. it’s been super helpful, not just to me, but to a lot of people as well. I can see from the views on my post that many are following and learning from what you shared too

Just to clarify though, the 50 RMB per carton you mentioned, does that already include shipping, clearing, and other logistical cost ? I ask because 50 RMB is around ₦11,000 and by the time we factor in shipping and clearing, the total cost might be closer to ₦12k -13k per carton. So I’m just trying to understand how the ₦3k–₦4k profit works out …. unless I’m missing something here . Just want to be sure I’m calculating right. Thanks

Morning. I sell directly at Alaba myself. But the demand for the light is high so it will always sell. Selling wholesale is if I have container load and I don’t bring such quantity yet. Even big quantity of light will sell fast, I know wholesalers in the market that buy hundreds of carton at once and other shop owners will buy from you as long as your price is not above market price. I cannot guarantee the time it will take for all the goods to sell but even big quantities sell out in 3-4 months max. As for you, you don’t have to be in shop all day. You can bring the goods and store in a warehouse then we inside Alaba will do the marketing and sale and supply direct from warehouse. Construction materials and light will always be in demand.
Another business I’ve done I can recommend is buy groundnut oil during harvest season (April-May-Jun) and sell in December when price might’ve done 2X. I have other business but these are the ones I’m willing to share here
Thanks for the response

Quick one…. price-wise, when you say wholesaler, what kind of quantity or price range are we really talking about here ? Just want to understand the scale

And that groundnut oil angle got me thinking…. honestly I always thought the price of oil was kind of steady, maybe small ups and downs, but not like double. So I’m kind of curious

I don’t like sharing details online. Basically I order fast selling lights(type of light purposely withheld) from China and sell at Alaba market for 30% average profits. I already have 8 years experience and social capital to handle the storage and marketing and sales. Some chandeliers can give 80-100% profits but you have to wait 4-6 months to finish selling it. The type I bring sell out in 1 or 2 months. Business success get little little secrets. Production and shipping to Nigeria takes 2-3 months. It’s pure business not get rich quick schemes
Sorry for late response

Quick one …..

So, I’m trying to figure out how your business works—are you more of a wholesaler yourself ? Like, do you mostly supply other sellers in bulk, or do you focus on selling directly at Alaba yourself?

Personally, I’m not really looking for a business where I’m stuck in a shop all day. I’d rather prefer a setup where once my goods arrive, after like 2 or 3 months, I already have buyers or retailers I can sell to and just move the goods. I’d love something like that.

Getting buyers is not as hard as you stated.
Because it’s something have been doing before. I bought 2000 pieces of iron sponge and I got buyers after I met buyers in gbagi, aleshinloye, Dugbe, that was the first time I went there and I got people, I met buyers and we discussed. It’s because I don’t have up to 500k to buy it that’s why I didn’t do any research further by getting buyers but that’s the easiest thing to do. It’s like you want to sell notebook and you are afraid of getting buyers. Ordinarily, every students uses note books, so it’s something that must sell.
It’s just quality and price that needs to be improved on to convince them.
But I understand you, having distribution channel is the only exercise to do. I did not continue because I don’t have money to buy it.
To get distributors,
One needs to meet wholesalers in Big cities like Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt , Edo, and probably Jos for those in northern Nigeria. You can meet lagos distributors in a week to discuss with them. Then you can then expand to other states, start from Lagos because other states buy from there.
Since it’s been quiet on your end …. so, I’ll take that as a green light to go ahead unless I hear otherwise

And another thing …. make I ask you straight, and I need you to be real with me ….

I mean the contacts aspect …. are you 100% sure we go get the buyers?
Not just “I believe” or “it should,” I mean sure sure, like you fit beat chest on it?

Because I no wan enter once chance with big money tied down.
And more importantly …. 10 million no be 500k, and it definitely no be 20 million too.
You get what I’m saying?

Buying small quantity and selling it off is different from handling a whole container of large stock. So I just want make we reason am well …. you really believe say we go move that kind volume without wahala?

Probably you don’t understand me because
1)you don’t know the product I am talking about so it might be hard to believe,
2) You don’t know how social media ads works.
3) You think we will run ads and start awareness after getting the goods, Note if you are using sea to buy something from China, it takes 2 months at least before the goods will get to Nigeria, so, why won’t 2 months be enough to see big buyers, especially if you live in Lagos. I stated Lagos because it’s Lagos that Nigeria sea port is located, so goods will be brought there bulk and send to other states.
But, I think have done my best in explaining, and I can’t do more than that.
Wish you good luck in your findings
Oya, explain na…

You see how you broke down the sourcing of the product and explained the research you did on it? You showed how profitable it can be, and that makes so much sense.

Now, I need explanation and conviction of the distribution part as well …. just like you explained the product itself.

Like I told you earlier, distribution is key to any business. Take the example of Nike’s deal with Kanye west…. Nike didn’t have to start from scratch. They already had distribution channels in place, so it was just a matter of putting Kanye’s product into their existing system( plug & play ) . That’s exactly what I need to understand here. How can will we get this product to the people who want to buy it?

I didn’t ask for the product name because I believe you must have done your homework and have a solid conviction about this product. What I really need conviction on now is the distribution aspect of it . No business works if there’s no solid way of distributing it . The product is only half the story; the other half is getting it to market and selling it.

We’ve already had three long lengthy messages about the product, so breaking down the distribution part in detail shouldn’t be too much to ask. I’m just trying to understand how this will all work once the product lands here. Once we get that part clear, we can move forward. Thanks

I'll suggest your venture into real estate with special focus on house flipping. Simply buy an existing old house in an already developed area to avoid any future government acquisition issues. Remodel the house into an apartment building for shortlet purposes. With this, you earn DAILY on the property. This is a high-in-demand business model that lots of real estate investors are venturing into and as a realtor I can advise on possible location you can buy these properties. I equally have one that the owner wants to give out on a long lease of 5 years minimum at a very busy location ideal for this sort of business idea and also a bare land within a secured estate ideal for same business, if you are interested, reply to this post and we take it from there. This is a guaranteed income means.
I’m very much interested & Thanks for the idea …. sounds more like something that could work if done properly well. But before I take any steps, I’d need more details like:

How much the properties cost ?
What renovation budget we’re looking at ?
Expected daily income based on similar properties in the area and Proof that the area has high shortlet demand ?

I like to treat things as a full business, not just “buy and hope it works.” So if you can help with real numbers and maybe case studies from similar projects, then we can talk more.

1) it’s something people buy often, not edible item but it’s a consumable.
2) it’s something that has been selling even before I was born, so it’s not a new item in industry.
There’s no too much supply for the item, the reason is because it’s something that homes, schools, and individuals use.
And the beauty of the item is that this particular brand that I made research on is the commonest of it in west Africa, Among those companies producing the item, the probability of getting other brand that retail sell in Nigeria is 0.1 out of 1.
There is no much market saturation for it, it’s not something everyone can set up as a business, the reason is because
(1) For you to know the item, you must be into importation
(2) You must have done thinking and ruminating on different item to import that can pay you huge money before you get it, I took like 4 months before I got the item.
(3) Another problem is it’s only a single producer that sell it in Alibaba
(4) If you don’t buy up to 500, 000 pieces, they will not answer you. I begged them to sell 100k pieces but they didn’t succumb.
So, it’s not something you can just get everywhere.
3) this thing has been existing before I was born, and I am 30 yrs, for you to know how long it has been, Another thing about it is among countries producing the item, that of that country is the commonest in Africa and even some part of China and America
4)it is not something that should take time to sell, especially if you run social media ads, meet big stores in Lagos, Abuja, port harcourt, If you buy 500k pieces or less which I suggest you start with, it can’t be enough for Ibadan students alone( Primary, Secondary students) let alone houses /Families in Ibadan, now think of Lagos and other states.
Within a week, you can exhaust 500k pieces if one make necessary awareness
5)We can’t sell to end user now, such goods is too much to target end users, wholesalers, retailers is the best.
6)it’s not something hard to sell, it’s something you will even have in your house.

I have imported and sold several things before. In fact, I have 10 blood pressure monitoring that I just want to ship in Lagos currently.
So, it’s something I have been into since last 2 years.
Thanks bro, this really helped me understand things a lot better. I can see you’ve done your research and put in serious effort in it

But I have to be honest with you…. one big thing I noticed lagging : is the distribution part of the business . That side is not clear at all.

You explained the product well and showed that there’s demand. But without a clear plan for how well we can sell it, the business is not complete.

Saying things like “we’ll run ads” or “meet big stores” ….. bro, that sounds more like a guess work than a real plan. Same thing with “we can finish 500k in a week if we create awareness” …. that sounds like hope, not facts.

I’m not trying to kill the idea at all …. I actually like it. But if I’m putting big money into this, I need to be sure there’s a solid way to move the product.

Because even the best product will just sit down,
and tie money down, if we don’t have strong distribution channels….. And that’s not business

It’s just normal importation business but from experience, I got a goods that can make you millions within 2 months if you use sea and millions in like 2 weeks if you use air.
80 percent of capital one spends on importation goes to transportation because how heavy the goods is will determine the money you will pay.
Normally, most goods in China store are very cheap, but if you add transportation fare, it will be almost the price sold here.
But from my research I got a good that is around 1 to 3g per one, which is sold at around 20 naira there, that same goods is 100 naira and more in Nigeria.
This goods is some that almost everybody use.
The seller want to sell 500k of 50kg,in price for me but the reason I didn’t buy was Moq was 500k piece which I didn’t have. The 50kg has 50 thousand pieces, if you use cbm to pick, 1cbm is around 700k currently , if you add 700k plus 500k, that’s 1.2 million, let say it’s 2 million, if you sell at 80 naira per item to retailers, 80 times 500000 is 4 million, you gain like 2 million, these is just estimation, the actual price of cbm is not up to 2million and 50kg of good can’t fill a cbm, it’s like half that it will fill, a cbm is like 1000 litre of stores tank but this item I am talking about is very light that a quantity is less than 2g, then the volume is small, it’s like half of regular atm card but thick like a sheet of paper. So you should know how that could be.
Hey bro, thanks for response ,before I consider investing, I just need some clarity

A few questions I need clarity on:

1. How often do people buy this thing?
• Is it something they need all the time or just once in a while?
For example, items like toothpaste sell constantly — is this product in that category?

2. If we bring in a large quantity, can the market handle it?
• Will people still buy it at the same price?
• Or will the price drop if there’s too much of it everywhere?

The reason I’m asking is because you said you wanted to buy around 1.2 million worth of product , but didn’t. Now imagine I’m coming in with 10 to 15 million ….that’s a lot more. So I need to be sure the demand is strong enough for that.

3. How long has this product been selling well?
• Has it been in demand for years, or is it just something trending now?
• I want to know if it’s something that can last and stand the test of time , I think If it’s a long-term seller, that’s a good sign. But if it’s just a trending item, big red flag.

4. How long does it normally take to sell one shipment?
• I’m not just asking best-case scenario… I mean average time, based on real demand and buyer behavior.

5. Who are we selling it to?
• Is it for regular people or shop owners?
• Do we already have people ready to buy it from us, or do we need to go and find them?

6. Will it be easy to sell?
• Like, will it move fast because people already want it?
• Or will it need a lot of convincing before people buy?

7. And lastly….. how sure are you about everything?
• Have you done this before or seen someone do it successfully?

Hopefully I’m not asking too much . I just want to make sure I understand everything properly before putting any money into it . I’m treating this as business, not just something to rush into.

Bro, don’t waste your money, it’s better to buy landed properties, you could buy land that you can be selling for estate later, On that land, while it’s not in use, you can plant tree crops that you will not really use money to manage and in 2 to 3 years, it will yield.
Tree crops has less maintenance.
You could go into importation of goods into Nigeria, in fact the money is too much for that. Just study it very well before doing it. Because their a lot of disappointment there. Though their are still hopes and huge income there. A good can give you 200 percent return of your capital in 2 months. It’s not all goods but some goods can. I knew this base on research.
Because putting such amount into anything non physical is very risky.
sounds promising! ….. tell me more about this importation business?

Invest in treasury bills and money market.
Annual interest is between 20-22 percent.
While thinking of alternative ideals that are profitable, the money will yield good interest for you . You don't need to give anyone your money . Visit the investment arm of any bank and implement. Preservation of capital is key , low risk investment is important also. Take advantage of compound effect on investment.
It’s a good idea, but in Nigeria, if a business isn’t pulling at least 40% profit annually , it’s not sustainable, especially with how fast the naira is losing value.

Instead of that, I’d rather put my money in dollars… at least that way , I’d retain its worth, while still earning some yearly returns

I recently received an inheritance and now have over ₦150-million just sitting here, doing nothing. I need solid advice on how best to invest this money. I’m looking for a moderate to high-yield investment that won’t be affected by the depreciation of the naira.

Let’s be real ….. we’ve all seen how bad the naira has devalued over the years. The last thing I want is to put my money into something, only to wake up in a few years and realize its value has been slashed into half. You know what I mean. Even if the business is in naira, it has to be highly profitable so that currency depreciation won’t eat away it.

I don’t want meaningless or negative suggestions…. only serious, well-thought-out opinions . I’m open to meeting up as well….. to discuss solid business ideas, and trust me, a handsome reward awaits whoever brings the best proposal.

That said, let me be clear:
I have the Commissioner of Police and EFCC on speed dial. If anyone thinks this is an opportunity for a scam, just know that any fraudulent attempt will be dealt with the full extent of the law.

If you have a genuine, profitable, and well-researched idea, let’s talk.

Hello everyone ! Hope you are doing well , I need some serious help here. I'm on the hunt for the absolute top-notch Mercedes Benz mechanic workshop on the island. By "best," I mean the crème de la crème, the ones who truly excel at their craft. I don't care about the cost as long as they are incredibly skilled.
So come on, give me your recommendations
