willise2n: Workforce has failed in dis UAC online-test process,its a big sham, dey were not prepared for an online process neither did dey hv d facilities or right server to accomplish dis task. I am not afraid to say dis bc its d truth, Workforce shld hv stuck wit d paper-based test or arranged a computer test in a way dt candidates come and take d test in batches at centers dey prepare jst like dey did in d 2011 Nigerian-Brewries test which I took wit dem 3yrs ago in Lagos. To avoid over-crowding or d NIS situation, d test shld have been conducted over a period like a month or two,not rushing it, and UAC which is a billion-naira multinational company can afford to pay for d excercise. I am not saying dis bc mine went bad,not at all,I had a good test and finished all my questions and clicked submit wit 2mins to go,but reading thru dis thread, I m seeing a lot of cowardice and nobody has had d confidence to call dis exercise what it really is,a sham and a FAILURE on d part of Workforce. If we don't complain,dey ll not improve and UAC and other big-companies will be paying dem millions to conduct dis rubbish, a test where 98% of d people guess answers bc d questions are not complete or correct and yet d time is running accurately and correctly,why cnt dey use d same technology for d server-time to make other aspects of d test as accurate and correct? check SHL or GRE or TOFEL online tests, and u ll see d standard used for millions of people all around d world. If Workforce must stick wit dis arrangement, den nxt time dey shld take part of d millions dey collect from dis big-companies and either get a better server, or contract it out to an agency dt does dis tests accurately everyday. Congratulations in advance to d LUCKY ones dt sail thru,am also praying for myself too, if we succeed, it does nt make us better or more intelligent dan others who took dis sham,its jst destiny and God's favour, as in wat is for you is for you. Location: NSML Head Office - Port Harcourt

Responsibilities
The appointee will assist in maximizing the utilization of NSML seafarers to ensure statutory safe manning levels, relief planning and overall co-ordination of logistics for implementing all Crew Changes.
Undertake ship and college visits to Nigeria" Officers on board/colleges and respond to issues/concerns raised by Officers/Code's. while counselling them with view to creating a harmonious working environment.
Support NSM in the provision of effective oversiqht manning activities for third party
Manning Agents confracted by BGT Fleet Managers for provision of Nigerian Ratings
Manpower services for BGT Ships.
Relieves NSM in his absence and represents Company in appropriate meetings in furtherance of Shipboard Personnel and crewing matters as directed.
Prepare Management Report on utilization of Nigerian Officers and Cadets.
Plan shipboard assignments for assigned BGT ships and ensure all stokeholders' interests ore met whilst ensuring that the vessels are adequately manned in line with Flog stole requirements.
Implement Crew Changes and ensure adherence to uniform interpretation and application of approved policies and procedures for seoforers,
Assist in the development and implementation of NSML policies and procedures and provision of professional advice and guidance to appropriate line managers and seafarers on shipboard personnel related issues.
Investigate, recommend and implement strategies for improved performonce and increased Officers' availability for sea service.
Requirements
Possess a University degree in Humanities or Social Sciences, obtained af a minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1)
Have five years post graduation experience, out of which three years should have been spent os an Officer in a HR function in a reputable organization.
Be good team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Be computer literoie with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Not be more than 35 years as at 31st December, 2014.
Experience in the Maritime Industry will be an added advantage.
Have knowledge of shipping operotions in the maritime industry.
