The 30 year old took his goal tally for the season to 19 in all competitions from a total of 41 games, putting himself in pole position to be named in the final 23 man list.
Dessers opened scoring in the 6th minute stunning the home crowd at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium. With scores tied at 1-1 he scored twice but was denied on both occasions by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).


His team were however not in the mood of taking their foot of the gas with Václav Černý scoring a brace to pipe more misery on the Jose Mourinho led team right in front of their fans.

Following their hard-fought 75-70 victory over Libya in the opening game of the third qualifying window on Friday, Nigeria was able to keep their Afrobasket hopes alive. However, a win against Uganda—who had stunned Group B leaders Cape Verde 63-60 in their opener—was crucial to strengthening their position.
