It reminds me of what a friend told me decades ago when I was still in Nigeria precisely in Kano State

He told me that, he had a greedy girl whom he just met and They decided to hang out together

He said that when they got to the hangout location which was a bar and I think a hotel as well

They ordered for something to eat but he was surprised that the girl was ordering so many things and food to eat like chicken , Turkey , salad, breef etc and my friend told me that, he was not having enough money

Meanwhile to the main gist of now.
Before I became a commercial driver, I dropped out of Auchi polytechnic during my HND due to impregnating a girl and having to fend for her and the child.
Even though my late mum later helped me did most of the taking care of my baby and baby mama. While I work and give her money for upkeeps.

I left Benin and came back to Lagos to venture into full time transportation. In my park, I was known as Uche Man U cus we have more than 5 Uches there and I was differentiated with Man United cus I love the club so much.
Then my other nickname at the park was "students" cus I love reading a lot.
While other drivers are drinking and smoking or gossiping. I always sat in my bus reading from daily sports papers, newspapers and magazines.

One of those magazines got me an invitation to my first celebrity event.
The name of the magazine then was "Encomium" with the publisher named one Kunle ..... I have forgotten his surname but the editor was Azuh Amatus who later started publishing his own.
Encomium was produce weekly every Tuesday and I never missed any edition from January 2008 I started buying them for #200.
Encomium was a little less opposite of Dele Momodu's Ovation.

To my surprise from their August edition, they started advertising that they'll be having an October 1st independent day party for their readers, clients, advertisers and celebrities.
That entry ticket for readers is 20 different edition/copies of their magazines between April to August.
If you bring it complete to their office in Ogba Ikeja, you will be giving a special IV for the event. And the dress code for the event is green and white.

I said to myself ope o, even if they want 100 of it I get am, cus they have turn library at my home. The event will be co hosted by Encomium and Kennis Music owned by Kenny and D1.
So on a chosen day, I gave my bus to someone else and then went to Ikeja. Luckily for me that day I met Kenny and D1 at their office that day, that was my first time of meeting celebrities and interacting with them face to face, apart from the one I saw on the way or inside their car.

They checked my copies and confirmed it, and it was D1 himself that gave me a specially crafted IV.
I was overjoyed, for the first time I am going to party with celebrities.
I took the IV home and showed it to my younger brother who was a soldier and tailor.
I told him to help me design and sew a nice senator for me. He said no problem, opportunity for him too to advertise his handwork.
I went to Iyana Iba market and got the needed materials. By September 25th my outfit was ready.

October 1st before I left home, my brother gave me a couple of his complimentary cards, just in case someone likes my outfit and wants to know the designer. I gladly collected it, anything to promote my bro's skills is allowed.
After all he sewed it for me free of charge.
By 4pm off I headed to Planet 1 Maryland Ikeja.
The show is starting by 7pm and ends by 10pm, and the after party at Planet 1 night club.
I loaded my pockets with money just in case, not knowing everything there is gonna be serve yourself and free.

Due to traffic along Igando and Egbeda road I got to Maryland by 7:30pm. No big deal the show was just starting.
For the first time in my life, I saw hundreds of Naija celebrities packed in one venue.
From Chinedu Ikedieze, Chidi Mokeme, Bob Manuel Udokwu, Julius Agwu, Okey Bakassi, DJ Jimmy Jatt, the DJ of the day. Kenny and D1, Uche Ogbodo, Queen Nwokoye whom I took selfies with Chidi Mokeme, the reigning artiste of the time in the person of Kelly Handsome, Saidi and Fathia Balogun when they were still marry. And so many other actors of Yoruba movie I can't rmbr their names.

First of all I went to the food section were I served myself hot jollof rice and a chicken. Went to the fruit juice stand and also made the people there make orange juice for me.
Time for wine and liquor, it was going round by the waiters who were giving it out like it was going out of fashion, thank God at 28 then I just started taking alcohol, so I had my fill. Honestly I have never had so much fun at a go.
Then by 8:30pm, the party went into overdrive. Jimmy Jatt wan wound us with music. Not long after Kcee and his partner then Precious when they were known as Kcpresh serenaded us with their hit song "Shokoribobo".

I will leave the story of how majority of our celebrities behave for another day, I saw a lot of negative attitude from celebrities that day, story for another day.
The show ended, and we were directed to the club house for those who came from afar.
We troop to the the club and they were twice of guys there to girls, unlucky for us none of the celebrity we saw at the show came to the club. Some went home with their cars while some book a nearby hotels especially Sheraton which was along the road.
Inside the club, I manage to corner a girl to myself. She told me how she loves my outfit and looks astonished in them.
Lest I forget, at the show about 5 guys have collected my bro complimentary card bcuz of my outfit.
Honestly I looked sharp like "ajebutter pikin" 😀😀😀😀.

I think it was my sharp and rich outlook that drew this aje pako abi ghetto girl like me to my side.
While we were dancing and gisting around 11:30pm. Then next thing we saw was 2face and his crew walked in. One of his crew members started pointing and snapping fingers to the girls inside the club and then signal for them to come along.
Before we knew it they have reduced half of the girls that guys are managing, and those once followed them like dundies bcus of Tuface.
After they left, see guys cursing Tuface.
E no go better for you, na woman go kill you for there.
Thankfully the one with me wasn't picked, even though she told me categorically she would have love to be among them.

By 2am we were tired and resting at one place, and I asked the babe with me where he came to the party from. She said, from VI.
I asked how did she get the invite, she told me she got it the same way I got mine.
After much interview from me to her, she switched over to me and the first thing she asked me was: where did I parked my car.
I was taken aback, but not to be undone or carry last according to Warfarians.
I told her shit: it was my driver that dropped me off last night and promised to come picked me up this morning, but around 12am he later called me that the car developed a fault, that he only managed to drive it home, so the car can't make it to come pick me. I told him don't worry I will find my way home in the morning 😀😀😀😀😀.

Then she asked where I lived, I told her Festac Town.
By morning, time to go. We went and boarded a bus to Oshodi.
Getting to Oshodi, I expected her to cross to the other side and board a bus going to Obalende where she will now connect VI.
She told me she's going to mile 2 to get CMS bus.
I said but mile2 side is long journey, she said I shouldn't worry that's where she likes to take. I said no problem, we entered mile 2 bus and I was doing all the paying, but I wasn't worried, money dey with me.

When we got to mile 2 Festac side, we exchange numbers and bid each other bye. I walked inside mile 2 estate pretending I want to go look for bike that will take me to Festac Town. I dodge and hid in one corner watching her. Immediately she thought I was out of sight.
O baby galantly walked into a bus calling Okoko - Iyana Iba - Volks hahahaha.
It was those mercedes old model buses that has front and back doors.
She entered thru the front and sat in one of the front row seats there.

I quickly came out from my hiding place and boarded the same bus from the back and sat at the back, me wey dey go Iyana Iba lolz.
When the bus was filled, the journey started.
There was one conductor at the front and at the back.
As they started collecting money, I quickly pay for two people to the conductor at the back and told him to tell his partner at the front not to collect money from the girl who braid her hair.
So when the one at the front got to where she was to collect money from her, the one at back quickly told him "dem don pay for her" she looked back to see who pay for her.
I stood up and waved at her, she was shocked and quickly turn her face forward bending down her heads.

Occasionally she will look back and when our face meet each other, she quickly turn away.

The next thing I heard was PPL owa. Ppl is after Alaba rago, that was where she wanted to come down.

Me too I told the conductor at the back that I will be alighting at PPL too.
The bus stop, as she was coming down from the front me too dey come down for back.
Then I walked to where she was standing looking at me, we stood looking at each other for some seconds without saying a word.
Then all of a sudden, both of us burst into laughter. I spoke first, shey na your VI be this and she reply shey na you Festac be this?
And we burst into another round of laughter and then hugged each other.

I then said to her, why did you have to lie to me you live in VI while na same ghetto here we dey. She said, she thought I was a big boy and didn't want to fall her hand.
I told her that it's she too that inspire my lies and we bought laughed it off while I escorted her to area in PPL. But when I got to know area there, I just decided she's not for me.
She was living in then den of notorious cultist from LASU and environs.
Me no fit find her come there lai lai, though I didn't tell her.
But after that day, I deleted her number and whenever she calls I didn't pick till she got tired and stopped calling.

So guys, that was one hell of experience of mine.
Watch out for my encounters with our celebrities full time, and what you will hear about their lifestyles and all, you will shake your head especially if you're their wives.
