DeOTR: Leave the rookies. He should have allowed his party to collapse because he's the president. No wonder Obi couldn't manage labor party because he lacks the leadership skills like this.
What leadership skills does Tinubu have if 27 years of raising tax burden on Lagosians have failed to translate into water supply and free education, despite 100 times increase in budget?
What leadership skills is he demonstrating in Abuja if he can't pay salary awards to workers since October 2023, and is owing contractors, failing to release capital budget while borrowing more than PDP presidents who did not remove subsidy to make petrol expensive and make life a hellhole for Nigerians?
SlavaUkraini: So MC Oluomo is telling us that Tinubu is bigger than any court judgement ...
Thugs always believe that they are above the law
That is what Oshiomole's Assembly of Past Criminals, APC has changed our lovely country into.
chisomkachy: The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has withdrawn the alleged money laundering suit it filed at the Federal High Court against Lagos Speaker Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa.
Naija News understands that the anti-graft did not give any particular reason for its application for withdrawal.
Following the application to withdraw, Justice Nicholas Oweibo discharged the ‘lien/Post No Debit’ placed on Obasa’s three accounts in Standard Chartered Bank.
The accounts are (US Dollars) 0001852063; (Current) 0001852056 and (Saving) 5002309624.
The judge also set aside the ex-parte orders he made on September 15, 2020, which led to the freezing of the accounts.
Recall that the court on September 15, 2020, granted an interim order freezing Obasa’s accounts following the EFCC’s application in a suit marked FHC/LCS/1064/2020.
The agency had said it was investigating the Speaker for the alleged offences of conspiracy, diversion of funds, abuse of office and money laundering.
But Justice Oweibo, on August 16, 2023, heard the application to unfreeze the accounts in his chamber.
During the hearing, the EFCC was represented by Mr. Sulaiman I. Sulaiman, while Obasa was represented by Mr. Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN).
The EFCC lawyer told the court that the application to unfreeze the accounts was pursuant to Section 44(2)(K) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and Sections 26, 29 and 34 (1) of the EFCC (Establishment) Act, 2004, and under the court’s inherent jurisdiction.
Section 44 of the Constitution concerns constitutional rights to property.
Justice Oweibo held: “It is hereby ordered that an order is hereby granted to the respondent/applicant setting aside the ex-parte orders of this court made on the 15th day of September 2020 upon the ex-parte motion of the Applicant/ Respondent in relation the funds of the Respondent/Applicant domiciled in the accounts stated in the following schedule:
“ACCOUNT NAME, FINANCIAL ACCOUNT INSTITUTIONS, TYPE OF ACCOUNT, 1. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered, (US Dollars) 0001852063 2. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered (Current) 0001852056 3. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered (Saving) 5002309624.
“Issued at Lagos, under the seal of this Honourable Court and by the hands of the Presiding Judge this 16th day of August 2023.”
Newsmills: Hahaha ................only buffons are discussing about judiciary in Nigeria,I pity lawyers whose means of livelihoods are blatantly denigrated by the power that be,flaunting court orders will becoming the new normals henceforth.
Is that why ologogoro FCT minister built houses for judges while owing teachers salary
aswani: A period of handing money hand over first to oil entrepreneurs under the guide of subsidy, really?
Any idea why A-looter Propaganda Congress, APC has piled up more debts for us since 2015, even though they removed subsidy TWICE and city boy even bragged about ending borrowing because he hit his higher revenue target in August
In 2012, petrol price went down after APC played politics with our wellbeing, during their Ojota protests against fuel sector deregulation and subsidy removal.
In 2015, PDP also reduced petrol price that All Promises Cancelled, APC told us should never be above N70.
How much subsidy do you estimate we are being forced to pay APC for the massive corruption in their oil sector for the past 11 years?
Basicend: Dangote's dream has finally come true. At least temporarily.
If he is the only one in-charge of the pricing and supply of petrol, he will be able to maintain high prices for a long period of time.
If we have 2 or 3 other refineries in the country, price adjustments will be quickly dramatic and competitive.
It is well with Nigeria. Hmm.
A-looter Propaganda Congress, APC leaders of integrity have repaired NNPC refineries since 2015, and even exporting fuel from one of them since December 2024.
Why are you not including their fact in your comment
aswani: Is this meant to be a joke, PDP gave us what?
PDP gave us the better country that Wale Edun talked about below as confirmed by various credible data sources.
thisweekng: The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Chief Olawale Edun has said the last time Nigeria’s economy looked stable was about a decade ago.
He made this statement during his maiden press conference as Minister of Finance where he outlined President Bola Tinubu’s vision, agenda and strategy for the economy.
He said, “I think as we all know, we are not where we should be. The economy is barely growing above the rate of population growth.
“But it was not always so, and I think in trying to look at the way forward, if we now have a situation of slow growth, double-digit inflation, weak/depreciating exchange rate, as well as security concerns that are resulting in an economy that is not growing and not taking Nigerians out of poverty.
“If we think back to the last time when the economy was stable- when it was growing, when inflation was low, and the interest rate was affordable, that period was about a decade ago. Growth was about 6% in 2013 and 2014.” Private sector to drive the economy

Racoon: Festus Keyamo Defends Tinubu From Drug Trafficking, Says Tinubu Mistakenly Shared Flats With Drug Lords
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo, has distanced the All Progressive Congress presidential candidata, Bola Tinubu, from being a drug baron who was involved in the traffic of narcotics in the United States.
Keyamo, who also doubles as APC Presidential Campaign spokesperson, noted that the former governor of Lagos State only shared a block of flat with drug barons about 30 years ago in the US.
His reaction is coming following documents of a Chicago District Court indicting and convicting Tinubu of drug dealings and money laundering in 1993.
The document which emerged online two days ago, described APC standard-bearer as a drug baron, adding that Tinubu entered a plea bargain, leading to the forfeiture of his assets to US authorities in 1993
It was also pointed out that Tinubu forfeited the sum of $460, 000 dollars in his bank account at First Heritage Bank to the US government.
Speaking on Wednesday on Channels TV, Mr Keyamo dismissed such claims, insisting that Tinubu was linked to drug peddlers who were his neighbours.
He said: “What happened was that Tinubu went to open an account. The address which he used in opening the account was the address used by these people. I think some blocks of flats. Maybe, he was happy to be in that block of flats too.
“So, they now link it that the other people they were investigating for narcotics are in the same address used by Asiwaju to open that account.’’

anonimi: Petrol should never cost more than N70 per litre, says APC
January 19, 2015
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as mere tokenism the reduction of petrol price from N97 to N87 per litre, saying the petroleum product ordinarily should sell for N70.
On Sunday, the federal government announced the reduction of petrol price, citing the fall of global crude oil price.
But the APC through Lai Mohammed, its spokesman, on Monday accused the government of making a show out of deceit, saying “a 10.3 per cent slash in the price of petrol was a mere tokenism at a time the price of crude oil has crashed by about 60 per cent”.
It argued that the pump price of a litre of petrol should not be more than 70 Naira, alleging that at N87 per litre, the government was forcing Nigerians to subsidise the massive corruption in the oil sector by N17 for every litre of fuel.
Freetech: Atiku is looking for what remains of national asset to sell.
All his criticism is directed at his pain that the opl is not going to yield fund he'll end up using to flex in Dubai at the expense of Nigeria.
He's the MMM leader according to Sowore
Atiku’s deregulation and privatisation policies were the bedrock of PDP’s 16 years of widespread prosperity, peace and security with less debt burden for Nigerians.
What is Tinubu doing with the greater public money he has been stealing since 1999 from Lagosians and since 2023 from Nigerians
May Day: Hunger, unemployment, insecurity real— Tinubu
According to him: “The theme demands our collective attention and serves as a stark reminder of the need to create an environment where every worker feels safe, valued, and empowered to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our nation. As your President, I assure you that this administration is committed to creating such an environment for the common good.”
On the economic hardship, he noted that while it is a global phenomenon, its effects on Nigerians are particularly severe.
Tinubu said: “I am aware of the peculiarities of the economic hardship Nigerians face—rising living costs, hunger, insecurity, unemployment, and the loss of livelihoods. These challenges are real and demand definitive solutions, which I am poised to address as your President.
Prospect of a possible alliance between the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN and Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, was dashed yesterday in Kano as the leader of the party and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu described CPC as parading “expired leadership.”
Tinubu told ACN supporters in Kano during the party’s Presidential rally that: “What Nigerians need now is a transformation in leadership” as obtained in the advanced economy.
The two-term Governor of Lagos State explained that the leadership of ACN was offering Nigeria the brilliance of Nuhu Ribadu who, he said, is in the class of Nicolas Sarkozi of France, David Cameron of Britain, Medvedev of Russia and Barack Obama of the United States of America.
“What has CPC got to offer? We certainly don’t need expired leadership as we are offering the best in terms of brilliance, courage and patriotism in the class of Sarkozi of France, David Cameron of Britain and Barack Obama of the USA.”
Tinubu’s position came on the heels of Ribadu’s declaration penultimate week in Kaduna when he hinted during a political rally of a joint ticket between the two opposition parties to confront the dominance of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The national leader of ACN criticised President Goodluck Jonathan for shying away from the national debate held last Friday, stressing that”that singular act exposed Jonathan as a coward who has nothing to offer.”

orisa37: GOD SAVE OUR GRACIOUS 36 CONSTITUTIONAL STATES.
……..and 774 constitutional LGAs.
May we not experience the consequences of a successful coup against our hard earned democracy, like what Buhari did in December 1983!
Splashme: The first civilian governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, on Tuesday, said that the cancellation of the Lagos metroline project in 1985 was a major mistake and disservice to many Nigerians.
Jakande spoke in Lagos during the launch of a book which chronicled his life in politics and journalism.
The book, entitled, ‘Jakande: Leadership in Action’ is written by Dr. Bola Olaosebikan, who told the audience at the event that the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), was not responsible for the cancellation of the project.
Jakande said, “Reflecting on the metroline project, I think it is a major disservice to many Nigerians. Imagine how many people would have benefitted. It would have made life easier and changed the face of transport in Lagos. Whoever cancelled it or gave the advice towards its cancellation didn’t do right.”
The former governor asked Nigerians not to vote for unserious leaders in the coming polls, saying the elections presented Nigerians with a good opportunity that should not be squandered.
Expressing the hope that Nigeria would soon overcome its developmental challenges, Jakande said hope would be actualised faster if credible people emerged as leaders in the next dispensation.
He said, “This book comes at a very auspicious time in Nigeria’s history as we need leaders who can act. We need leaders who would not compromise the standards of good governance. God has blessed this nation the most in Africa, although we have not reached where we should be; with the right leaders, Nigeria would overcome its challenges.”

WHO SAYS 4 YEARS IN OFFICE IS NOT ENOUGH FOR MEANINGFUL ACHIEVEMENTS?
IT'S A FACT THAT 90% OF GOVERNORS IN NIGERIA SINCE 1999 WITH REVENUES AT THEIR DISPOSAL CANNOT BOAST OF A QUARTER OF THESE ACHIEVEMENTS EVEN WITHIN THEIR EIGHT YEARS IN OFFICE.
Manny21: APC is about to implode. Wait till after conventions and primaries. You will see what Yoruba calls ile tia a fi ito mo iri no oowo (a house erected with saliva will be collapsed by dew)
APC won’t implode because it is filled with typically greedy and selfish Nigerians, whom Tinubu will settle with the 53% of federation account that he has to himself.
Is that not how he used consensus to pick Osun governorship candidate for August election
jaxxy: This is true but the opposition is also not working together which is critical.
How can ordinary Nigerians help the opposition to work together for the return of our country to better days of PDP before Tinubu fraudulently sold his 2011 expired Buhari as APC change messiah four years later?

anonimi: My dad, victim of complex conspiracy – Kola Abiola
What role did Bola Tinubu play in all of these?
At the very beginning, he was part of the Yar’Adua PF group from Jos. He was a senator then, and as far as the group went, we related. The crisis started post-election. When Abacha came, one of the things he wanted to do was to be the administrator for Lagos.
That is Tinubu?
Yes. I am sure you have seen pictures of him and my dad. He was hoping that there would be civilian administrators like we had under IBB but Abacha said no, that he was going to have military administrators. So he (Tinubu) said okay, in that case, can I be a deputy administrator? But Abacha said that there wouldn’t be deputies. Then he wanted the post of a commissioner.
He wanted to be a commissioner?
Yes. Then it was a choice between him and someone very close to Jakande who has passed on now. I can’t remember his name, but because Babagana was already in the government, that guy was picked as commissioner. But really, Senator Tinubu had lost out already.
Was Tinubu very close to MKO?
Yes, he was close enough. He and Adeniyi Adele, a very good guy, were close to my father. In fact, Adeniyi was closer to my father and more dedicated to the process than anyone of them. When my documentary comes out, you will see Tinubu’s take on issues. So once he lost out, automatically, he became a NADECO member and Adeniyi was incarcerated.
anonimi: How we foiled Jonathan’s effort to make Mulika Adeola Speaker, Akande reveals
AS president in 2011, Goodluck Jonathan did all he could to ensure South West grabbed the country’s number four seat, including lobbying then opposition leaders from the zone, to no avail. The North West eventually grabbed the seat, supported by South West leaders in opposition to then ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Former Governor of Osun State and now statesman, Chief Bisi Akande, made this revelation in his autobiography, “My Participations” which is currently dominating political and national dis- course.
Aminu Tambuwal, now Sokoto State governor, won the seat, against the preferred pick of his party, Mrs Mulikat Adeola Akande, from the South-West. Defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, then a fledging opposition, which had Akande and his soulmate, former Lagos State governor, Senator Bola Tinubu, as front- line leaders, openly asked its elected members of the House of Representatives, mostly from the South-West, to work against their region and back Tambuwal from North-West.
The opposition party’s support carried Tambuwal through the contest against Akande, then ruling party’s favourite for the speakership seat.
In his book, Chief Akande revealed that former president then as incumbent, personally reached out to Tinubu, who is now believed to be nursing presidential aspiration in 2023 and himself, but couldn’t convince them.
He wrote, “President Jonathan, immediately after the meeting (with political parties), called Bola Tinubu aside into a lobby to broach the matter of ACN support for a choice of who would become the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
“That same day, President Jonathan talked to me on phone about the same matter. He disclosed that PDP had zoned the position to the South-West but that only one Muraina and another Mulika won elections on PDP ticket from the zone into the House of Representatives.
angelboy01: If Bola is doing this then he's not sure of winning. Forget The judiciary, INEC and the likes. You have about 32 governors in the bag but still scared then that tells you he's not sure of himself. Even INEC won't save him..
How can he be sure of winning reelection after admitting to making things worse for us since he fought for power and grabbed it to run cluelessly like a headless dog 🐕?
WizardOfNG: You have no shame, as a southerner, supporting Fulani Atiku who, in 2023, sought to directly replace a Fulani President who had been in power for 8 years so that we face the scenario of having Fulanis in power for 16 years. Precisely what rotation is against.
That ambition of Atiku that Bode George warned against, citing the chaos it can throw Nigeria into, was what killed PDP.
Rotation agreement sought to stop power remaining in the hands of one people indefinitely to the disgruntlement and displeasure of others.
You feign 'good governance advocate' but your backing for Atiku show you lack character and uprightness because a principled Nigerian would know what led to a North-South power rotation agreement and what the agreement wished to prevent from ever happening again.
For thinking men, wherever they are from, Atiiku is a no no for his lack of honour and disinterest in sacrificing for the greater good of Nigeria as all genuine statesmen would.
Any Southerner supporting him is aberrant also because the North must learn to wait her turn as the South did impeccably while Buhari was in power.
There may be grave consequences if the North rejects the path of honour because the rest of us are not slaves or serfs of the North.
Times have changed meaning Southerners won't accept Fulanis and Northerners perpetuating themselves in power today as they did with military might in the past
The fact that the South, precisely SW and SS, is essentially all that is good and commendable about Nigeria today means the North should be going out of her way to never attempt to take us for granted and cause us to be completely disillusioned with Nigeria because once that stage is reached for the SW and the SS then Nigeria is done.
Go and bone up on history to know why rotation agreement was settled upon in 1999 and is even more important today that Nigerians are more cynical, more combative, way more divided and much more disunited.
This is a time Atiku, if he is a good leader with good intentions, would do the right thing putting Nigeria first. Yet we all know he won't.
Same way Atiku's unappealing character is visible is how it is clear you, regardless of what you type here, are not a sincerely principled person who wants the best for Nigeria. If not you'd automatically understand and support the notion the North must wait her turn.
You have shame as a tribalistic person to hypocritically want rotation like Wike and Makinde in 2023 even though they succeeded Ikwerre and Ibadan governors respectively after eight years.
If you want the best for Nigeria, then why are you supporting the worst rogue in Aso Rock?
El Rufai will save us when he is finally released from city boy’s prison.
Maxymilliano: The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has explained why he delegated some members of the party to respond to questions posed to him. According to the former Lagos Governor, he adopted the delegation method “to show team-ship”.
Tinubu spoke at the Chatham House lecture titled: ‘Nigeria’s 2023 elections: In conversation with Bola Ahmed Tinubu’, monitored by The Nation.
At the lecture, Tinubu after his opening remarks, assigned Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai to speak on how his (Tinubu-led) government would address insecurity and asked the Director of Strategic Communication of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Dele Aleke, to respond to the question on oil theft.

lexylaw40: The “president-elect” saw in Obi's presidential bid, a good chance to reduce the winning chances of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.
The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Oyo State, Tawfiq Akinwale, on Wednesday stated that the “President-elect” Bola Tinubu asked popular economist, Prof Pat Utomi to step down for Peter Obi in the buildup to the 2023 general elections.
Akinwale made this revelation while he appeared as a guest on a radio programme on 101.7 YES FM, Ibadan, Oyo State, while alleging that Obi received campaign funds from Utomi, whom he described as Tinubu's "son."
The LP aspirant, who spoke in Yoruba language, said "In the buildup to the 2023 elections, Obi who had purchased the nomination form of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), suddenly announced his exit from the party.
"Initially, Pat Utomi had secured the LP's presidential ticket, but when Peter Obi said he resigned from the PDP and joined the LP. Bola Tinubu, a master political strategist, quickly told Utomi, that everyone knows to be his son to step down for Obi.
"The “president-elect” saw in Obi's presidential bid, a good chance to reduce the winning chances of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.
"What Peter Obi didn't know is much more that what he knows, he started collecting campaign funds from Utomi, while Tinubu was giving the money to Utomi.
"This went on until Obi's presidential campaign got to a stage it went beyond target. Obi was used without him knowing," Akinwale said after announcing his departure from the party.
Obi defected to the LP after resigning his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and also withdrawing from the presidential race under the party.
The former governor consequently joined the race for the party’s presidential ticket, while Professor Pat Utomi, in June 2022 stepped down for him to emerge as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, unopposed in Asaba, Delta State.
