Wike is doing well for himself after getting rid of the Anambra wannabe godfather to make it easier for ebilokan to continue APC shege on the basis of 100% indirect votes for him in the five SE states.
anonimi: 2023: PDP and politics of healing Wike’s self-inflicted injury
Then, the race began in earnest for three years now, reaching a frenzy with the works of the two PDP committees on zoning. The first was the Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi committee on the zoning of the PDP party offices. The Ugwuanyi committee quickly told the world the committee’s assignment did not cover zoning the office of the president. Though this was true, the question is: why didn’t the Ugwuanyi committee zone the PDP chairmanship to the North without aligning it to the divide that would produce the PDP presidential flag-bearer? The second committee headed by Gov Samuel Ortom of Benue state was specifically on the zoning of the presidential ticket and, with the votes of the representatives of all the 17 Southern states without any exception, the Committee unanimously recommended throwing open the PDP presidential ticket, which the PDP NEC simply upheld.
One thing irrefutably stands out – Wike shot himself in the leg. Here was a man who had an overarching influence on both committees but could not insist that the ticket be zoned South. Many had wondered why? The reason is also relatively in plain sight: the Southeast factor. As the clamour for zoning of the presidential ticket of the PDP to South reached its crescendo, many had pointed out the fact that though the PDP Constitution had prescribed zoning of the office of the president to be between North and South since the South-west and South-south had taken their turns in producing the president and the vice in this current dispensation in the persons of Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, zoning this time around, should not just be to the South but the Southeast.
Atiku Abubakar went a step further by offering to step down from the race if it would be agreed that the touted zoning to the South would mean micro-zoning to the Southeast. Wike and the rest could not take the Atiku challenge maybe because Atiku would likely back Peter Obi, who was his vice-presidential running mate in 2019 and an ally. The prospects of Peter Obi picking the ticket if PDP zoned South was so real compelling Wike to go for an open contest, believing he could pick it up ahead of Atiku, Tambuwal and Bala Mohammed, given his large war chest.

Lawmaker scores Lagos Water Corporation low
A Lagos State lawmaker, Mr Saka Fafunmi, on Thursday expressed dissatisfaction at the performance of the state Water Corporation.
Fafunmi, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA), said in Ikeja that the corporation had not been able to justify statutory allocations to it.
The lawmaker, who represents Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 1 at the assembly, spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
He said that the corporation had the capacity to generate much fund internally through water rates but had relied solely on government funding because of poor performance.
'' Anyone that is using water will be willing to pay for it; the corporation has not been giving us water.
"Is there any new community that Water Corporation has given water? People depend on boreholes; even government estates have industrial boreholes.
"Why do we keep pumping money into an agency that does not give us the desired results?'' he asked.
He noted that the Adiyan Waterworks was located at Ifako-Ijaiye, where many of the residents had resorted to digging boreholes as a means of getting water.
''A lot of people are falling sick because they don't drink clean water.
''In the same compound, where you have sewage, is where you have a borehole.
''There is no way you can manage the sewage that it will not leak and pollute the water; everyone drinking such is drinking contaminated water,'' he said.
The lawmaker urged the corporation to increase water reticulation and supply to residents.

The same guy who was justifying SUV purchase for lawmakers from the $84 billion subsidy savings that hiked petrol price five times and made everything cost more?
If Obi was sharing SUVs as governor, how much more was he spending on meals and fumigation when the dollar was only N100
[quote author=NLCreator post=126854133]Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, has defended the purchase of sports utility vehicles (SUVs) for members of the national assembly.
There have been reports that the leadership of the 10th national assembly has bought SUVs for all lawmakers.
Each SUV is said to be valued at N160 million.
The LP had asked members of the party in the national assembly to kick against “wastage”.
While responding to questions during a press conference in Abuja on Monday, the former governor of Anambra said the SUVs are not personal cars of the lawmakers, noting that they are for official use.
“Let me start with the issue of Labour Party members in the house. I have actually discussed this issue with them,” Obi said.
“Surprisingly, I can tell you I heard that these vehicles are official cars. They have to use it. It is meant for office.
“So it is not as if it is their vehicle. They said it is official cars and you are meant to use it while you are in the senate.”
Obi also hinted at contesting for the country’s number one position in 2027, adding that Nigeria deserves dedicated and visionary leaders who will lead the country towards a brighter future.

He might not have even embezzled the money but duped. You just need to confuse his brains and he will sign. Anyone who has worked with somebody not in the know, will know how money flows through them.
Does Oyetola also have a school certificate when he refused to pay the debt of salaries and pensions to the workers in his four years tenure?
How much was he spending on meals and fumigation then, before his brother crashed Naira value from N400/$1 to N2,000/$1?
How much was the state government spending on meals and fumigation when APC and Oyetola were unable to clear the arrears of salaries and pensions owed by Aregbesola when Oyetola was the CoS

Governor Oyetola, a relative of Mr Tinubu, may have sabotaged his own country by buying the exotic property as Nigeria made to seize it. ByNicholas IbekweandTaiwo-Hassan Adebayo October 7, 2021 in Headline Stories, Pandora Papers Reading Time: 8 mins read
It was a meeting of two of Nigeria’s most influential politicians in London – President Muhammadu Buhari was visiting political kingmaker and senior member of his ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.
In July, the presidency announced that Mr Buhari was heading to London for an education summit. The office also added that the president would also see his doctors for “medical check-up”.
Coincidentally, Mr Tinubu, who had travelled to London earlier, was also receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment in the British capital. So, a perfect setting for both men to meet was created.
A rat swallowed a diamond and the owner of the diamond contracted a man to kill the rat.
When the rat hunter arrived to kill the rat there were more than a thousand rats bunched up and one sitting by itself away from the pack. He killed the one by itself and that was the exact one that had swallowed the diamond.
The amazed owner of the diamond asked: How did you know it was that rat?
He responded: "Very easy When idiots get rich they don't mix with others!!!"

How does empowering people in our country help them to put pressure on their public servants to stop stealing money that should employ them and pay them well?
How is such empowerment not double jeopardy on those who have escaped our hellhole country?

Anytime I think about the social issues in our country, everything falls back on the economy. We need to become upper middle class as a country.
If we don’t advocate successfully for free basic education for all children in quality schools with adequate number of well paid teachers and other staff, then how can we ever become upper middle class as a country? How do we evolve beyond our self-centred, lone star mindset?
How do we get there if a state that has been ruined by progreThieves for 26 years has less than 5% schools owned by the government?
The abysmal record is despite the UBEC established by the Obasanjo/Atiku PDP administration in 1999.

Obi, according to Soludo, would only deplete the votes of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and pave the path for an APC victory.
He stated, “The current fleeting frenzy, if not checked, will cost Ndigbo dearly for years. The South-east has the lowest number of votes of any region, but it is also the only region where the presidential race might be a four-way race (it is a two-way race in the other five regions) thereby, ensuring that our votes won’t count in the making of the next president of Nigeria.

Always first to comment. The poster above me even opened up to 17 threads when Peter Obi newly joined the ADC. God have mercy.
Now, to the topic, it's only Nigerian politicians who are obsessed with power and not service that don't want to release power. If you're truly serving, 4 years of service is enough for you to back out.
When Peter Obi says he'll only do one term, he means he wants to serve and 4 years will be okay. He has a life outside politics.
Why was four years not enough for him as Anambra governor before he imposed his Fidelity Bank boy as his successor? That one wasted no time in shaking off the wannabe godfather.
So much for the naive politician and his tall tales about serving the people
newsbook: Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano has re-echoed his allegation that his predecessor, Mr Peter Obi demanded the sum of N7.5billion from him for sponsoring his election in 2013.
Obiano and his predecessor, Obi have had a frosty relationship shortly after his swearing in.
Obi has however denied that he demanded for the sum of N7.5billion from Obiano, saying that his problem with him was his (Obiano’s) underperformance.
Obi said if he needed the said sum, he would have simply taken it from the N75billion he left for the Obiano administration at the end of his tenure.
But Governor Obiano while speaking on Wednesday evening at Ezechima Primary School, Onitsha where he inaugurated his reelection campaigns in Onitsha North Council Area, said the clarification became necessary because of the recent accusations against him by the former Governor.
He stated that his predecessor had demanded the sum of N7.5billion from him as funds spent in prosecuting the election on his behalf, but that he refused to pay the money because it was not true.
Obiano said he refused to pay because he strongly believed that public funds should be used for public good, and not to settle godfathers.
These, he said, was the reason they fell apart.
The governor said that another reason he refused to pay the money was because he was aware that enough money was raised for his campaign by his friends and associates, all of which were never accounted for by the former governor.
On the actual sum the former Governor claimed he left behind, Governor Obiano made it clear that he inherited liability of about N127 billion debt from him in contracts awarded and other responsibilities, which he has been religiously undertaking in the spirit of continuity.
He said Obi flagged off several roads even on the day he was leaving office and saddled him with the burden of paying for it, but he assured the people that he has his eyes on the ball and will not allow anything to distract him from fulfilling his promises.
The Chairman of the Governor’s Re-election Campaign Committee, Chief Victor Umeh said APGA as the political spirit of Ndigbo, has in the past three and half years, availed Anambra good governance at its best, reminding the people that the upcoming guber election was not about Willie Obiano but about ensuring that the state remained free from political godfatherism.
A former Central Bank Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo in his speech said that at this time, the State needs a tested hand like Governor Obiano who has the experience and expertise to effectively steer her affairs.

How did YOU undermine the peace of our country in 2015 when ebilokan packaged his expired northerner of four years earlier, to make his fellow southerner Jonathan a one term president?
Prospect of a possible alliance between the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN and Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, was dashed yesterday in Kano as the leader of the party and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu described CPC as parading “expired leadership.”
Tinubu told ACN supporters in Kano during the party’s Presidential rally that: “What Nigerians need now is a transformation in leadership” as obtained in the advanced economy.
The two-term Governor of Lagos State explained that the leadership of ACN was offering Nigeria the brilliance of Nuhu Ribadu who, he said, is in the class of Nicolas Sarkozi of France, David Cameron of Britain, Medvedev of Russia and Barack Obama of the United States of America.
“What has CPC got to offer? We certainly don’t need expired leadership as we are offering the best in terms of brilliance, courage and patriotism in the class of Sarkozi of France, David Cameron of Britain and Barack Obama of the USA.”
Tinubu’s position came on the heels of Ribadu’s declaration penultimate week in Kaduna when he hinted during a political rally of a joint ticket between the two opposition parties to confront the dominance of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The national leader of ACN criticised President Goodluck Jonathan for shying away from the national debate held last Friday, stressing that”that singular act exposed Jonathan as a coward who has nothing to offer.”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as mere tokenism the reduction of petrol price from N97 to N87 per litre, saying the petroleum product ordinarily should sell for N70.
On Sunday, the federal government announced the reduction of petrol price, citing the fall of global crude oil price.
But the APC through Lai Mohammed, its spokesman, on Monday accused the government of making a show out of deceit, saying “a 10.3 per cent slash in the price of petrol was a mere tokenism at a time the price of crude oil has crashed by about 60 per cent”.
It argued that the pump price of a litre of petrol should not be more than 70 Naira, alleging that at N87 per litre, the government was forcing Nigerians to subsidise the massive corruption in the oil sector by N17 for every litre of fuel.

seanwilliam: I only disagree with the part that says “ no one owes you anything”. I used to say that in the past , but not anymore.Every other thing is on point. People that owe us something are our parents and government. They owe us die. Same way we owe our potential children something.
Most of us won’t be here if we really had the support we needed. Sometimes you can be extremely hardworking and smart , but if the society ( government) and background ( parents ) are against you, your chances of success is very tiny especially in this kind of country with low PP. people born in western countries have everything to be successful . There chances are higher compared to us. Even a poor person over there is considered middle class here. Why? Support system.
For every tom that came from trenches that was lucky and made it, there are millions of harry that are smarter but won’t leave that trenches due to the system ridged against them.
If not for hustle, I tell you bro, most guys wont have anything to fall back on, infact, the situation of the country would have been worse because daylight Robbery, cultism, kidnapping and other social vices would be more rampant and become the order of the day.
And apart from that, even the general public still owe each other love and compassion. Because if every one decides to stick to the mantra; all man for himself, I tell you, the society will be unbearable for everyone even the rich. Do you know why? The poor will turn against them and in the long run , it’ll be terrible.
As someone from the trenches will zero parental and system support, you need to husle like person wey no get anybody , even though you know some people owe u something, you don’t need to bask in self pity because the reality is no one is coming to save you.
There are things someone that’s coming from nothing should avoid , even though it doesn’t mean they will succeed , but it’ll increase his/her chance of success . Among others, these include ; Early marriage and procreation especially when the resources at his disposal is not enough to cater for the needs. Marrying liability , religion fanaticism, being comfortable with less etc these things plunge people into poverty.
Solutions include but not limited to, Education, Learning different skills, selling himself out there and networking with like minded people, finding a mentor , living below one’s mean, savings and finally high risk appetite; investment.
It’s not easy.
Thanks for the excellent post. I hope you realise that it’s the people who own the government and those who are allowed to be in government are simply a reflection of the majority opinion of the people who have sovereignty, ultimately.
Do you know how we can overcome the tribalism that hampers our democracy and development
edet19892015: Unless you understand your role in society, you can never make any meaningful contribution.
According to the Greeks, they are three types of people on Earth, 1. The idiots, 2. The tribesmen, and 3. The citizens.
Studies show only 10% of Africans are citizens. The remaining 90% are either tribesmen or idiots.
1. When the Greeks used the word "Idiot", they did not use it as a curse word. Idiots are people who just don’t care. If they sit for exams, they will cheat. If they are in government they will steal.
An idiot does not care at all, if he eats bananas he throws the peels anywhere instead of putting them in a trash bin.
IDIOTS won't attend monthly neighborhood meetings. They won't pay security dues. They won't contribute to community development. Even when they see or know about something that will harm others in the community they won't report it. When they see/know/have something that will benefit their community they won't share.
In fact, Idiots don't care to register for or vote in an election, yet they complain the most. If they register to vote, IDIOTS will sell their votes for peanuts.
According to the Greeks, some societies have more idiots than tribesmen and citizens.
2. The next set of people are "Tribesmen", these are people that look at everything from the point of view of their tribe.
These are people that believe in you only if you are part of their tribe. It can be terrible to have a tribesman as a leader, he will alienate the rest.
When the Greeks talk about tribes, it’s not just about ethnicity, they also consider religion, gang membership, group membership, party membership and even cult membership as a tribe.
A great percentage of Africans are tribesmen, because they view everything from the point of view of their tribes. They trust only their tribesmen
3. The last group are "Citizens". These are people who like to do things the right way. They will respect traffic light rules even if no one is watching them.
They drive within speed limits. They respect the laws, and won’t cheat in exams. In government, they won’t steal. They are compassionate and give to others to promote their well-being.
Citizens often promote projects that benefit everyone. The Greeks called this group "The Citizens".
Some countries have more citizens than tribesmen and idiots, others have so many idiots.
A tribesman can become a citizen through orientation. And an idiot can become a citizen by training and constant enforcement of the law.
But things fall apart if you elect an idiot or tribesman to lead you if he has not been reformed.
Where do you belong? Are you an idiot, a tribesman or a citizen? Reflect on your life. Reflect about your immediate community, city, state and nation.

Please tell us the truth about what ebilokan is losing as the biggest enemy of our country?
What is the truth about someone who packaged his expired northerner Buhari as replacement for one term president Jonathan, his fellow southerner?
What is the truth about switching PDP prosperity for APC extreme poverty?
thisweekng: The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Chief Olawale Edun has said the last time Nigeria’s economy looked stable was about a decade ago.
He made this statement during his maiden press conference as Minister of Finance where he outlined President Bola Tinubu’s vision, agenda and strategy for the economy.
He said, “I think as we all know, we are not where we should be. The economy is barely growing above the rate of population growth.
“But it was not always so, and I think in trying to look at the way forward, if we now have a situation of slow growth, double-digit inflation, weak/depreciating exchange rate, as well as security concerns that are resulting in an economy that is not growing and not taking Nigerians out of poverty.
“If we think back to the last time when the economy was stable- when it was growing, when inflation was low, and the interest rate was affordable, that period was about a decade ago. Growth was about 6% in 2013 and 2014.” Private sector to drive the economy
MufasaLion: These are the ladies that the younger generation of girls should emulate. They should stop emulating those jobless hookup ladies disguising as influencers.
How many hookup ladies are influencing Dangote privately to make him comfortable in the absence of a wife or partner?
By the way, does he not have a son? Are his daughters all married
Softmirror: It was the 'IRON LADY' Magret Thatcher that broke the back bone of the working unions in Britain with her 'NO WORK NO PAY' policy in the 80s.
At that time, the unions had turn strike to a routine. The are always on strike over everything and nothing at all.
In what way is our country like Britain, where ebilokan, Obi and other VIPs are hiding our stolen money in Pandora properties?
Money that should employ enough nurses and other civil servants to make basic healthcare and basic education free for all citizens and for all children respectively. Are these not examples of government services and public utilities attracting us to japa to racist Britain since we are too tribal to use meritocracy to fix our own country and communities
thewinning101: PANDORA PAPERS: Buhari visited Tinubu in corruption-tainted London villa acquired by Oyetola
