Why can’t you build roads the same way in Anambra state?

Why should he do that when his fellow citizens are not interested in the more important and more basic outcomes of governance in terms of utilities and services that are provided by well paid civil servants?

What % of schools in Anambra are private compared with public schools? Is that the same ratio in Europe and America where Soludo’s son is feeling fly about shining oyinbo congo huh

The one-drop rule is a social and legal principle of racial classification that was historically prominent in the United States in the 20th century. It asserted that any person with even one ancestor of black ancestry ("one drop" of black blood)[1][2] is considered black (Negro or colored in historical terms).

This concept became codified into the law of some states in the early 20th century. It was associated with the principle of "invisible blackness" that developed after the long history of racial interaction in the South, which had included the hardening of slavery as a racial caste and later segregation. It is an example of hypodescent, the automatic assignment of children of a mixed union between different socioeconomic or ethnic groups to the group with the lower status, regardless of proportion of ancestry in different groups.[3]

The one-drop rule is defunct in law in the United States and was never codified into federal law.

That story is both heartbreaking and powerful. It highlights the deep sacrifices some families make for education, especially in places where poverty is widespread and school fees are a burden. The grandmother bringing live chickens shows the value she places on her granddaughter’s future it’s an act of love, desperation, and determination.

At the same time, it raises serious questions about access to education. No child should be sent home because their family can’t afford to pay. It’s a reminder that education, though often said to be a right, still isn’t truly accessible to all.

Won't it be more powerful for the grandmother to lead others as Fela's mom did to ensure that her local and state government officals prioritise their commonwealth for employing teachers, accountants, administrators, lab attendants, librarians, coaches etc to make primary and secondary schools free for all children huh

Would this be an issue if we don't hail our tribal leaders who loot money that should make education free for all children, with matching funds from the UBEC established by PDP's Obasanjo/Atiku administration in 1999?

Do you know if Akwa Ibom also has less than 5% public schools owned and run by government? Or the state has more than 5%?

“The short-term goal is to achieve a naira/dollar rate of 300 naira/US$ and gradually achieve a less than 200 naira rate over the next four years, Tinubu stated.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, on Sunday evening boasted that he could provide uninterrupted power supply to Lagos residents between six and eight months.

Fashola spoke at the commissioning of 8.5 megawatts Lekki Independent Power Project (IPP), the fifth of such power projects in the last five years in the state.

The governor said the addition of the Lekki IPP was a testament to the fact that stable power does not require rocket science to achieve in the country.

While challenging power distribution companies in the state, Fashola said, “Let the Eko DISCOs sign a contract with me, giving part of their concessioning to the state government, in about six to eight months, there will be power in all homes in Lagos State,” Fashola said.

He added, “So, let no one say that he has no money to deliver power for the entire country. This is the limit to which the law allows us to do, but we have done this to make a statement that power can be generated. So, when they come with lies that power is impossible, you can tell them that we have power here; we make it possible”.

The project, courtesy of the state government, in partnership with Heritage Bank, is to serve Lagos State Water Corporations in Lekki Phase 1, Oniru, Victoria Island and Ikoyi, as well as over 25km of public lightening in the Lekki axis.

Commissioning the project, Fashola said he felt fulfilled with the conduct of youths that delivered the project, despite the difficulties in getting to the finishing point.

He said it also showed that the money to improve the Nigerian economy is here, “since we don’t need the World Bank to come and do this for us.”

Also, General Manager, Lagos State Electricity Board, Damilola Ogunbiyi, said the state had shown that reliable and sustainable power projects are possible through the youths. Ogunbiyi said though it had been a successful story, the state was just scratching the surface in its “aggressive development plan” in the area of power.

Promoter of the project, Faruk Agoro noted that the new IPP was an innovative idea of world-class natural gas-fired power generating facility, sold to the government by youths and it was bought into, to support government institutions, especially in the area of water supply and security.

Nigeria's Debt Burden Swells: Each Citizen Now Owes N624,527, Rises By 63% Under Tinubu Administration

Nigeria's public debt has surged significantly, with the amount owed by each citizen increasing by 63%, according to a review of the data released by the Debt Management Office.

When President Bola Tinubu took office in June 2023, the country's debt stood at N87.3 trillion. However, by September 2024, this figure had ballooned to N142.3 trillion, representing a substantial growth in the nation's debt burden.

According to population data from the World Bank, Nigeria’s population as of 2023 stood at 227 million.

With the total public debt standing at N87.3 trillion as of June 2023, it would mean that debt per capita (that is debt owed by each Nigerian), stood at N383,000 as of June 2023.

With the current total public debt standing at N142.3 trillion, it means that the debt per capita surged to N624,527 per Nigerian as of September 2024.

This amount is nine times the country’s minimum wage of N70,000.

Nigeria's debt crisis is deepening, with the country's total debt stock surging to N142 trillion as of September 2024. This represents a 5.97% increase from the previous quarter, driven largely by the depreciation of the naira, which has increased the cost of external debt obligations.

Tinubu is a step ahead of Trump.
Is Trump also doing CBEX scam of borrowing new loans to pay SMALLER old loans like ebilokan did for IMF and sukuk recently huh

Agbegbaorogboye:
Nigeria recently announced the full repayment of the $3.4 billion emergency loan obtained in 2020 from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), with the final installment paid ahead of schedule on April 30, 2025.

The loan, taken under the Rapid Financing Instrument (RFI) during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, was meant to cushion the economy against the oil price crash and recession risk.

The IMF has confirmed that Nigeria no longer appears on its list of debtor countries. Nigeria has also never taken an IMF bailout loan.
However, while this repayment signals a commitment to fiscal responsibility, Nigeria still owes a total of N74.38 trillion in domestic debt and $44.9 billion in external debt as of December 2024.
This is based on the most recent data published by the Debt Management Office (DMO), which has yet to publish the data for the first quarter of 2025.

Domestic Debt: Bonds and Bills Lead the Pack
Nigeria’s domestic debt profile continues to be dominated by long-term and short-term instruments issued by the Federal Government:

FGN Bonds: N55.44 trillion
Nigerian Treasury Bills: N12.35 trillion
Other Domestic Instruments: N3.97 trillion
Promissory Notes: N1.54 trillion
FGN Sukuk Bonds: N992.56 billion
FGN bonds alone make up nearly 75% of all domestic debt, highlighting the government’s continued reliance on the bond market to fund its budget deficit.

External Debt: Eurobonds and the World Bank Dominate
Despite paying off the IMF loan, Nigeria’s external debt burden remains substantial. As of December 2024, total foreign debt stood at $44.9 billion, with the top five creditors being:

Eurobond holders – $17.32 billion
World Bank (IDA) – $16.56 billion
Exim Bank of China – $5.06 billion
African Development Bank (AfDB) – $2.10 billion
IBRD (World Bank) – $1.24 billion

Notably, Nigeria’s exposure to commercial debt markets through Eurobonds means higher interest costs and increased vulnerability to refinancing risks.

While the principal IMF loan has been cleared, Nigeria is still obligated to make annual payments of around $30 million in Special Drawing Rights (SDR) as part of service charges and administrative fees until 2029.

These charges are standard for IMF facilities.

Still, the repayment improves Nigeria’s image in global financial circles and may help its case in future multilateral and bilateral negotiations.

Why Is the Debt Still Growing?
Several key drivers explain the growing debt pile:

Currency Devaluation: With the naira trading around N1,550/$1, dollar-denominated debt now translates to more in naira terms.

High Budget Deficits: The federal government continues to finance large deficits by borrowing both locally and abroad.

Refinancing Needs: Maturing short-term securities like Treasury Bills mean that existing debt is often rolled over or refinanced at higher costs.

SCAM OF THE CENTURY: GOV. AMOSUN DISPLAYS BAGS OF SANDS AS PYRAMID BAGS OF RICE DURING CHRISTMAS TO DECEIVE CBN GOVERNOR WHO RELEASED N8 BILLION LOAN FOR RICE PLANTING

December 21th, 2017 was a memorable day in Ogun State as the Ogun state government launched its MITROS rice, her own version of the LAKE rice. Secret Reporters reliable sources captured several dignitaries from across the country who graced the occasion. Among whom were, the CBN Governor Mr Godwin Emefiele, Kebbi State Governor Alhaji Abubakar Bagudu and other dignitaries who were present to launch the rice project.

At the event, Governor Ibikunle Amosun revealed that the rice had different varieties and they were all planted within the state by the state government. Part of the rice farm was located in Sawonjo in the Ogun West Senatorial district of the state. The governor further revealed that the state government has harvested and processed a total of 110,000 bags of rice translating to 183 trucks of rice at 600 bags per trailer.

It was however shocking when our source revealed facts about the lies and deceit involved in the said MITROS rice right from the venue of the launch. It was revealed that no rice of such quantity was planted in any part of the state and none of the rice mills displayed during the launch were functional. The little ones displayed by Amosun are the ones he bought from different sellers across all the markets in the state, then after, was SAND FILLED IN SACKS AND DISPLAYED AS RICE to deceive the CBN into believing that the N4bn agriculture loan has been put into massive rice production. The governor knows there is no rice farm to take the CBN governor to and the total number of bags of rice to be displayed isn’t up to 7,500 which won’t reflect rice production of N4bn. That’s why the fake rice pyramid had to be created to reflect the acclaimed 110,000 bags of rice displayed during the launch which will make the governor access the second batch of the loan. That was why the commissioner for agriculture recently revealed that the sum of N4bn was used to plant the recently launched MITROS rice

Further information gathered by Secret Reporters revealed that the pyramid of rice displayed to show 110,000 bags of rice actually housed not more than 2,500 bags of rice. Furthermore, various insider sources then backed this information with detailed pictures of how the governor, Ibikunle Amosun had deceived the CBN governor and others that graced the occasion.

The Biggest Rice Pyramids in Africa. Built with 1million Bags of Rice Paddy planted and harvested from states across the country under the Anchor Borrowers Programme ABP.

CBN is matching rice millers with RIFAN to off-take the paddy, mill and supply the Nigerian markets. They have set up machineries to prevent hoarding and ensure the milled rice are sold to Nigerians.

The paddy recovery is an ongoing effort as harvests are never concluded at the same time. Aggregated paddy for the pyramids is a fraction of the recovered paddies and the ones used at the unveiling represents about 25% of the loan amount.

2023: PDP and politics of healing Wike’s self-inflicted injury

Then, the race began in earnest for three years now, reaching a frenzy with the works of the two PDP committees on zoning. The first was the Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi committee on the zoning of the PDP party offices. The Ugwuanyi committee quickly told the world the committee’s assignment did not cover zoning the office of the president. Though this was true, the question is: why didn’t the Ugwuanyi committee zone the PDP chairmanship to the North without aligning it to the divide that would produce the PDP presidential flag-bearer? The second committee headed by Gov Samuel Ortom of Benue state was specifically on the zoning of the presidential ticket and, with the votes of the representatives of all the 17 Southern states without any exception, the Committee unanimously recommended throwing open the PDP presidential ticket, which the PDP NEC simply upheld.

One thing irrefutably stands out – Wike shot himself in the leg. Here was a man who had an overarching influence on both committees but could not insist that the ticket be zoned South. Many had wondered why? The reason is also relatively in plain sight: the Southeast factor. As the clamour for zoning of the presidential ticket of the PDP to South reached its crescendo, many had pointed out the fact that though the PDP Constitution had prescribed zoning of the office of the president to be between North and South since the South-west and South-south had taken their turns in producing the president and the vice in this current dispensation in the persons of Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, zoning this time around, should not just be to the South but the Southeast.

Atiku Abubakar went a step further by offering to step down from the race if it would be agreed that the touted zoning to the South would mean micro-zoning to the Southeast. Wike and the rest could not take the Atiku challenge maybe because Atiku would likely back Peter Obi, who was his vice-presidential running mate in 2019 and an ally. The prospects of Peter Obi picking the ticket if PDP zoned South was so real compelling Wike to go for an open contest, believing he could pick it up ahead of Atiku, Tambuwal and Bala Mohammed, given his large war chest.

Lawmaker scores Lagos Water Corporation low

A Lagos State lawmaker, Mr Saka Fafunmi, on Thursday expressed dissatisfaction at the performance of the state Water Corporation.

Fafunmi, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA), said in Ikeja that the corporation had not been able to justify statutory allocations to it.

The lawmaker, who represents Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 1 at the assembly, spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He said that the corporation had the capacity to generate much fund internally through water rates but had relied solely on government funding because of poor performance.

'' Anyone that is using water will be willing to pay for it; the corporation has not been giving us water.

"Is there any new community that Water Corporation has given water? People depend on boreholes; even government estates have industrial boreholes.

"Why do we keep pumping money into an agency that does not give us the desired results?'' he asked.

He noted that the Adiyan Waterworks was located at Ifako-Ijaiye, where many of the residents had resorted to digging boreholes as a means of getting water.

''A lot of people are falling sick because they don't drink clean water.

''In the same compound, where you have sewage, is where you have a borehole.

''There is no way you can manage the sewage that it will not leak and pollute the water; everyone drinking such is drinking contaminated water,'' he said.

The lawmaker urged the corporation to increase water reticulation and supply to residents.

I hope Lagos have enough houses to rent to people on monthly basis o
Yes nah.

Ebilokan and his placeholders built millions of low cost houses over the past 26 years of high IGR, loans and allocations plus PPP projects since they are redeemed saints of Oshiomole's Association of Past Criminals, APC.

How many house did the government built to achieve this or they want to tell me how to charge my tenants on the house I use bank loan to build where collecting monthly rent will have negative impact on the interest been paid back.

This government is insensitive and lack direction.
Very insensitive and lacking in direction for governance but highly skilled in looting the people's commonwealth.

How many low cost houses have been built in A-looter Propaganda Congress, APC's 26 years stranglehold on 20 million smart Lagosians, compared to what Jakande did in just four years before incorruptible military dictator Buhari locked him up for stealing? Why did he hand over to the master planner of Lagos looting in 2023 instead of letting him rot in jail huh

eluquenson:
REVISITING SOME OF THE LATEEF JAKANDE'S GOVERNMENT ACHIEVEMENTS FROM OCTOBER 1979 TO DECEMBER 1983 (FOUR YEARS AND 3 MONTHS) IN LAGOS STATE

* His government built Lagos State University

* His government established Teacher Training College and the College of Education.

* His government built low cost houses in Ijaiye, Dolphin, Oke-Afa, Ije, Abesan, Iponri, Ipaja, Abule Nla, Epe, Amuwo-Odofin, Anikantamo, Surulere, Iba, Ikorodu, Badagry, Isheri/Olowu, Orisigun etc.

* His government established the Water Management Board and Waste Disposal Board on the 18th of August, 1980.

* His government constructed the Adiyan Water Works to increase water supply in the state to 18.16 million litres per day.

* His government modernized and expanded the Iju Water Works which was first commissioned in 1915. This increased daily capacity from 159 million to 204 million litres per day.

* His government purchased and commissioned the giant car crusher equipment. The equipment was designed specifically to crush derelict vehicles in Lagos State. It had the capacity to crush 45 vehicles per day.

* His government constructed, rehabilitated and resurfaced Epe/Ijebu-Ode Road, Oba Akran Avenue, Toyin Street, Town Planning Way, Alimosho-Idimu-Egbe Road, Idimu-Iba-LASU Road, the new secretariat road and several others.

* His government constructed Victoria Island/Epe Road and thereby creating an ‘oil rig’ for Lagos State.

WHO SAYS 4 YEARS IN OFFICE IS NOT ENOUGH FOR MEANINGFUL ACHIEVEMENTS?

IT'S A FACT THAT 90% OF GOVERNORS IN NIGERIA SINCE 1999 WITH REVENUES AT THEIR DISPOSAL CANNOT BOAST OF A QUARTER OF THESE ACHIEVEMENTS EVEN WITHIN THEIR EIGHT YEARS IN OFFICE.

When will EFCC rightly declare ebilokan wanted for his CBEX teeming and lading fraud in repayment of debts by borrowing more loans?

Repaid IMF and sukuk loans but increased world bank, Afreximbank, sukuk and domestic loans. Yet his tribalistic supporters want us to praise him instead of asking EFCC to declare him wanted. shocked

What has ebilokan’s 26 years master plan reforms yielded in Lagos apart from deprivation of basic services and utilities despite squeezing out IGR from the public with high allocation that has not stopped the agbalọwọmeris from borrowing money?

Abi 26 years is not enough for your long run ni huh

Reflect7:
They initiated nothing.

Nigeria decided voluntarily to restructure its economy.

Tinubu could easily have continued with borrowing $10 billion annually to pay for fuel subsidies, and left the dual exchange rate regime that led to arbitrage by companies meant to be producing stuff, and other companies fleeing altogether, leading to further debt and economic decline.

Instead we’ve stopped the subsidies, and even repaid billions of dollars in debt.

Just last week the World Bank announced that Nigeria is currently achieving its fastest economic growth in 10 years.

So nobody forced Nigeria to restructure. It was the smart thing to do.

Buhari didn’t do it because he was scared of the backlash, but Tinubu is a stronger leader.
How does someone with Reflect as moniker tell lies anyhowhuh

FG, states add N57tn to debt in 18 months
12th May 2025

Nigeria’s total public debt rose by N57.3tn within the first 18 months of the current administration, according to an analysis of data released by the Debt Management Office.

The increase represents a 65.6 per cent surge in the debt stock, growing from N87.38tn recorded at the end of June 2023 to N144.67tn as of December 2024.

President Bola Tinubu, who assumed office on May 29, 2023, inherited a debt portfolio that already reflected heavy domestic obligations, including a N22.7tn Ways and Means balance from the Central Bank of Nigeria. However, within a year and a half, Nigeria’s borrowing profile expanded sharply, driven by increased local debts and a steep depreciation of the naira.

At the end of June 2023, the DMO reported that Nigeria’s total external debt stood at N33.25tn, while domestic debt was N54.13tn. By December 2024, external debt had jumped to N70.29tn, while domestic debt climbed to N74.38tn.

The rise in external obligations, both in absolute and proportional terms, marks a shift in the composition of Nigeria’s debt, with foreign debt now accounting for nearly half of the country’s total debt stock.

socialmediaman:
The 2018 Rating by Transparency International placed Nigeria at 148th position out of 180 countries. Nigeria was improving over the years under the previous government, until Buhari got elected as president, things became worse.

There is a difference between fact and fiction. We need to face facts, Buhari is worse than GEJ when it comes to fighting corruption, at least that’s what the facts prove.

Most of us believed there was corruption under Goodluck Jonathan’s Government. I agree with those who did, there was corruption, but not as bad as it is today under Mohammadu Buhari.

In 2012, Nigeria was placed at 139th position, In 2014, Nigeria gained 3 steps and was placed at 136th position. Under Buhari, Nigeria has lost many positions down to 148th.

There’s no further proof needed that corruption has worsened under Buhari’s government compared to previous years.
