You are absolutely right, I remember the 90s ladies were all light skinned., I was a child in the 90s so forgive my ignorance. I started watching Nollywood in the 2000s when Genevieve, Ini Edo, Chioma Chukuka(spelling??) became very popular. I guess I was happy to see women that looked like me being the leading ladies and not the dark-skinned best friend.

I do not follow Nollywood like that but these girls were getting movie roles in the 90s, 2000s and 2010s. I cannot name a single light skinned actress that has had a long Nollywood career, yes some were popular flash in the pan actresses but they have all disappeared into obscurity.
