Israel did not sponsor bin Laden because they were on his side or he was on their side, it was because they both have "Convergence of Objective".

To achieve this "Deceit of American Forces",
1) Israel wanted to (needed to) execute an "Operation" against its own "ally" America but does not want to be seen as the one behind it.
2) Bin LAden and other Islamist wanted to revenge against America, for its forever wars against their people.

(1) and (2) above, is the "Convergence of Objective" i mentioned earlier.

- Israeli Mossad approached the Islamist Group, pretending as if they are also Islamist hating on America,
- Mossad promised to finance the "Operation", provide weapons and logistics requred.
- The Saudi-Citizen Hijackers agreed to carry-out the operation on ground.
- Israeli Mossad quietly informed its Citizens who had Companies in both Towers, to find an excuse to declare a Holiday of their Business on D-Day, without letting them know what was actually coming. hence not a single Israeli Citizen or Business operating inside both Twin Towers, was affected directly.

- Once the 9/11 attack has been carried out, the same Mossad went behind to inform American CIA that the attack was done by the Islamist Saudi-Citizens affiliated with Bin Laden but claimed they were sponsored by Saddam Hussein of Iraq.
- Satanyahu also said that Saddam has developed WMD and must be taken out. (does that sound similar to what the same Satanyahu said about Libya's Ghadafi developing WMD, and now he is saying the same thing about Iran...... Ofcourse, it was all a LIE, it is just to make America fight and destroy those Countries on behalf of Israel.

- A few American Intelligence "smelled a Rat" with the "Mossad Intelligence" and on that level, despite the American Airspace being closed immediately the attack started, Bin Laden's family who were all living inside America, were allowed to pack and fly-out of the "closed airspace", to Saudi Arabia (that should tell you something!)
- The American "Deep State", George Bush and the Military Industrial Complex (mostly Republicans of War') bought the Israeli Mossad Story.

- Once everything is in motion, same Israeli Mossad and Satanyahu, joined America to hunt down Bin Laden.
The Order, was kill On-Site, Not "To Capture", less he comes and start spilling the beans about Israeli participation in the Hijack Plan.

Incase you still can see the 'pattern', let me use the case of Syria to buttress the way the Operation works:
- America had a bounty of $10Million on the head of the Terrorist Al Shaara Julani.

When it was time to "fix Syria":
- Israeli Mossad recruited ISIS members, whose Commander is Al Shaara Julani.
- Mossad funded and equipped these Terrorists to overthrow Bashir Assad, the President of Syria.
- After the overthrow had succeeded, the ISIS Terrorist Commander, Al Shaara Julani became the De facto President of Syria.
That event, as expected, fragmented Syria and weaken it.
Then Israel immediately started bombing Syria Bases and Airports, less than One Week after it helped Al Shaara Julani into Power!
Israel destroyed all heavy Weapons of Syria, killed many of Al Shaara Julani's men (terrorists) but agreed that as long as Al Shaara himself does the bidding of Israel, he would be allowed to rule Syria.

So, you can see that Bin Laden could not have gone back to Israel, he was tricked by he Israeli Mossad.
It is called "Black Ops", in the intelligence community.
