vastolord4:The Government gats to do the needful. People need to eat but no food. No money to buy food. Even those that sell food, there shops are now being burgled. My gosh! Let it not get to a stage that people will have money to buy food but no food to buy because the sellers have no food to sell to those observing lockdown. Many foodshops have been emptied in the recent unrest. |
vastolord4:The Trump Administration has been dropping money into the accounts of Americans to cushion the effect if the lockdown. In Nigeria it is different. That's why there is this spike in crime! |
pyyxxaro:I am telling you. A woman for that matter. And to go to hospital for treatment might be risky at this time. Omotola the actress just announced that her cousin with kidney problem died in London because the doctors were too busy treating coronavirus patients. That is London o. |
LOGOBELT:Some people don't know where the next meal will come from because the little food they have has been taken. No money to buy new food to replace. Government should just act like a father to all. |
pyyxxaro:Chai. I hope not o. Seriously Government needs to release the food. They said their is a grain reserve for emergencies. Is this not an emergency? |
The Government shouldn't forget feeding and cash disbursements for millions, not just thousands. |
Why can't Government provide enough food to accompany the lockdown. If you said people shouldn't go out to work and you didn't provide enough food. The ones without food might begin to steal just to survive. |
We ask the Federal Government once again to provide abundant foodstuff from the National Grain Reserve for Nigerians. Look at how people young and old swooped on that lorry and stile rice from it in broad daylight! They didn’t even care that it was against the law of the land! For their mind, they probably concluded that if the government would not help them, they should resort to self-help. We give kudos to the Lagos State Government for introducing Food Kitchens to feed 100,000 youths a day. But more needs to be done as there are millions of youths in Lagos. If you #lockdown, combine it with #fooddown and #cashdown. Nuff said already. Watch if you think this didn’t happen! .Video link.

May more people be healed of corona... In similar exciting news, the government announced only 5 new infections yesterday. Hope the infections rate continues to reduce. Maybe lockdown made infections reduce. But the lockdown is being spoilt by non- distribution of enough food to keep hunger at bay... |

Federal Government should release more supplies from the National Grain Reserve to quench the hunger in the land. Lockdown should be accompanied with lots of food and money. |

Nollywood star, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has just exposed one of the consequences of coronavirus in the global health sector: doctors are so busy fighting the global pandemic that patients with other serious medical conditions might sometimes meet delays… She lost a cousin in London to such a situation. On Twitter, she wrote: "I lost a Dear Cousin Yesterday in London. I am hurting . He didn’t get Covi-19. He died from a kidney transplant complication, couldn’t get proper healthcare because the Hospitals were... Continue Reading...

Update: Buhari orders release of 70,000 tons of grain for 'vulnerable people'. Source: https://www.nairaland.com/5788419/lockdown-buhari-orders-release-70000#88347610 |
This is a good first step. But more help is needed and fast! |
President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the release of 70,000 tons of grain as part of emergency relief measures for vulnerable Nigerians. Thank you, Mr President. But more still needs to be done. You need to really really ensure that the grains reach the exact people you intend it to. Doing that will help calm the unrest that is being reported in several parts of your country. Also, the criteria for defining vulnerable Nigerians should be exhaustive rather than limited. This is because many Nigerians are really really hungry right now. Mr President, currently anyone with less than N100k in their bank account(s) should ... Continue Reading
