The background check is just to see if you have applied for other countries visa like UK, Ireland and United States and have being refused and you didn't declar it on your application and also to check if you have being deported from those countries or serving bans and also aslyum... so the background check has nothing to do with local police info bro..

Please can someone enlighten me, how do they conduct background check on visit visa when Police clearance isn't required, I was about to submit a Police clearance but no provision for that.. so my Question is how do they now conduct this check? and for PR background check it is the same with normal visit visa background check.. 1. PCC is not mandatory for Canada visitor visa.

2. It's not necessary to write a separate letter to explain you're the CEO. However, you could include these relevant business/work/personal details in your Application Letter/Statement of Purpose.

3. They will check the details of the company you attached on the Nigerian CAC website.

Please how I would like to know if its important to attach Police clearance certificate on Visit visa, because there was no request for that on the Portal for Visit visa to include it. So I ignored it.
Secondly, I only stated my Company of Employment and document of the company.. Do I need to write a letter to show I'm the CEO? or what exactly? how will they verify it, however I attached the company registration document. How do they do all these Background checks in Nigeria with how the system is .. can someone enlighten me.. Thanks

I would like to know what it means when Background check is " in progress" do people who receive there Visa get this sort of info? Does it mean it would take longer to process?

I'm very delighted for taking out time to explain all of this, frankly I have been broken due to her condition, I had to pay a full time care worker to take care of my 7 month old child. She is due for another operation in March. A very major one, her sickness is bad that initially doctor told me she wont survive as she has 5 % survival but God did what he did and she survived it. Now I already have 2 letters from the Social services and also from the doctor all from the Hospital. Someone gave me a contact for Brampton MP but we don't live in Brampton, so I'll take your advice and ask her to call or meet with the MP of our city. The only fear I have is I used her personal account as sponsor. I also attached my new child birth document . I have written a personal letter of explanation but I learnt the new Ircc portal uses Ai Chinook software which they don't even look at supporting documents. I hope a human will look at my application and grant it.

3 options come readily to mind IMO as your situation is a rare exception with legitimate documents to back it up. you can choose to explore all, if anything it shows the urgency of your situation.
1. Send a compassionate email to Lagos office (lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca; abuja@international.gc.ca) reattach the letters from the hospital and social services, appeal to them how prompt processing will help you support your wife emotionally and mentally through her recovery and impending surgery as you have to care for your infant daughter who’s a citizen as she recovers.

2. Your wife should call IRCC and ask for updates, they usually leave a note on your file each time an enquiry is made.

3. Your wife can physically go to the MP office for the district/constituency she lives in (details can be found on google) if she’s able to or call/email explaining her struggles, showing same letters above and requesting that the MP help intervene.
They would normally ask her to sign a consent form, then reach out to IRCC on her behalf.

So she is a PR holder , she's not a student, she works as a professional Project manager in a company. All her medical surgeries are insured and we don't pay a cent.. it's free.. I would have applied earlier but that was when Nigeria had passport issue and it took time for me to re-new. Again how does this expedited process work? I didnt see it from the Application, I only saw Visit to take care of loved one and I clicked on it..

Your wife is a PR holder and requires medical attention and family support, so you will get the visa even faster. However, consider applying for PR yourself, so you won't need a visa in the future.

Hi Affoncad, I'm delighted with the level of accuracy and break down on this Forum, but I would need your input on my situation, this is my first application ever to Canada, My wife is a PR holder and we just had a 7months old Canadian daughter however my wife is so sick due to complications during her first surgery, this was 7 months ago, however I got invited by the hospital in Canada and also the social service to quickly come and be with her, this letter was dated 2 months ago but she has now being discharged but will return to the hospital in 2months for another surgery, however I just submitted my application with the new Ircc portal last week, with about $8000 balance however 5 months deposit is over $70K , I didn't use my account statement , only hers which we both run together, She also sent an IV explaining all and also saying she would be my sponsor for the trip. Can you please analyse my story, do you think I stand a chance to get theTRV ? do you think our situation will make them expedite the process or it will take the normal time? I'll be glad to get a response

I have a valid US visa and in the new portal, it asked for "Proof of financial support" (I submitted bank statements). I also included a self introduction/cover letter (with an overview of my travel plans) and employment + promotion letters. I forgot to add my full itinerary but I believe that can be helpful too. For a safe balance to have, I'm not sure. Someone here recommended budgeting at least $300/day. So maybe a little over that, prorated for 7 days will be good enough.

Which is better to apply for Visit Visa? IRCC new portal or GCkey for me , I used the New Portal .. it is true it has many rejections?

Hi Fam, can someone please advice me which Platform is better between Ircc new portal or the Gckey portal.. this is my first time applying for a visitors visa to support my wife who is sick in Canada and also visit our new born child who is Canadian. I was given an Invitation from the Hospital and also from Social service Canada to quickly come. Do I stand a good chance considering the high rejection rate? Any advice will be appreciated. We have a bank balance about $6k but a 5 months cash flow of over $100k. I read where they said the New ircc portal is more of IA, so wondering if that will affect my chances since it's not viewed by human.
