I was called by a colleague at work to help check his 2015 Mercedes gla250 cos a client that came to get it was complaining about a misfire at the point of test drive. After plugging in my scan tool, I discovered every four cylinder in the car was actually firing to full capacity and after a brief testdrive, we got to discover it was the wheel nuts that was not screwed properly making the car produce some weird noise during test drive. Aside that, this car was good to go but here's a little experts advice if you are looking to get this car. The 2015 Mercedes Benz gla250 is subcompact luxury crossover segment built by Mercedes for those who want a fun, compact SUV. It comes with 2.0L turbocharged 4cylinder engine and a 208 Hp available in FWD or 4matic AWD. This car is great for city dwellers but not ideal for family and rough road commuters. This car comes with a few good perks and some not so pleasant report when not handled carefully. It comes with the iconic Iconic Mercedes grille, sleek crossover stance, and upscale interior materials (MB-Tex, real aluminum/wood trim). Looks more expensive than its price. It also comes with a fuel economical engine and wouldn't consume that much fuel if your engine is in optimal condition. Its compact size makes it easy to handle when driving and also easy to maneuver in tight spaces. Another good perks for this car is that it comes with a 5-star NHTSA rating, standard collision prevention assist, attention assist, and 9 airbags with an Optional blind-spot monitoring and lane-keeping. Some of the problems you might encounter if you buy this car which to some extent, is preventable if you are one that has a good maintainance culture will be the following ; 1. Turbo oil leaks (Aviod over revving when cold). Cost of fixing is between ₦800k -₦1m 2. Problems with camshaft adjuster (rattling on cold start). Use Mercedes Benz 229.5 oil every 7k-8k kilometers. Cost of fixing is between ₦400k-₦600k. 3. Transmission hesitation. Use OEM Transmission oil when servicing and avoid oil top ups. 4. Electrical issues like infotainment systems failure, Ecu/sensor failure. Cost of fixing is between ₦150k - ₦300k. 5. Suspension problems due to bad roads. Avoid overloading. Cost of fixing is between ₦200k to ₦250k if you must install the full set. Irrespective of all these challenges, I believe with good maintainance culture, you can get the best out of this car. Asking price for this car can cost between ₦23,000,000 to ₦26,000,000 depending on the dealership you are buying from. Using the services of a car diagnostic expert is very important if you are interested in getting this car or even any other car . I can help you on that should you need my services.
