EntertainmentBrazilian Student Sells Virginity For $780000 by AVmonster(op): 7:21am On Oct 26, 2012
A Brazilian girl Catarina Migliorini, 20, has auctioned off her virginity, as she claims, for charity. Migliorini will receive $780,000 for losing her virginity aboard a plane with Japanese big-spender "Nastu." The auction ended at 4 a.m. EST, Wednesday.
According to The Huffington Post, Migliorini, a physical education major, auctioned off her virginity online to a man from Japan known simply as "Natsu." NY Daily News reports Natsu overcame stiff competition from American bidders Jacks Miller and Jack Right, and a big-spender from India Rudra Chatterjee. Now she is due to meet with "Natsu" to consummate the commercial transaction that involved 15 bidders.
According to The Huffington Post, Natsu beat five other bidders after a hectic final day during which the price of the Brazilian girl's "chastity" leaped from a comparatively paltry $190,000 to $780,000.
Also part of the "Virgin's Wanted" project was a young man Alex Stepanov. The price for Stepanov's male "virginity" proved something we've all suspected: a man's "chastity" is not worth much more than its erogenous pound of flesh. Stepanov sold his "virginity" for a miserable $3000 to a Brazilian woman named "Nene B." It is hoped that "Nene B" had really expected to win and not only put up her bid as a joke.
Migliorini has told the media that she plans to donate 90 percent of the auction price to charities that would build homes in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina. But according to The Huffington Post, the auctioneer, the Australian film maker Justin Sisely, is skeptical of Migliorini's claim. He said: "I was surprised she said that because in all my dealings with her, she made it clear that it was a business decision for her. Now, given how big this story is in Brazil, she's trapped. If she doesn't give any money to charity, she's going to look bad."
Some have speculated that Migliorini may be hoping that no "virtuous" charity would be willing to accept the "blood" money.
Catarina's action sparked outrage among the "old fashioned" majority who believe that a woman's "virtue" should never be sold off and that any transaction in which a woman's "chastity" is reduced to a trade commodity is prostitution.
Catarina has contested the damming label "prostitution" with the somewhat quaint logic that just as a man does not become a photographer because he snapped a picture once, a woman does not become a prostitute because she sold sex once. She said: "If you only do it once in your life then you are not a prostitute, just like if you take one amazing photograph it does not automatically make you a photographer. "
She defended her action with good business sense, saying:
"I saw this as a business. I have the opportunity to travel, to be part of a movie and get a bonus with it... The auction is just business, I'm a romantic girl at heart and believe in love. But this will make a big difference to my area."
However, she did not explain what sort of "business" this is if, as she insists, it is not prostitution, nor did she explain how many times one must earn a fortune from selling sex or snapping photos before one qualifies for professional status.
According to NY Daily News, the controversy surrounding the auction deepened when Migliorini revealed that save for the most critical moment, the transaction will be recorded by an Australian crew for a documentary film called "Virgins Wanted."
The "goods" will be delivered to the buyer on board a plane flying between Australia and the US. She will be interviewed before and after the the transaction, but the "intercourse" will not be filmed and the lucky (?) buyer has chosen to remain anonymous.
NY Daily News reports intimacy gadgets will not be allowed and "Natsu" must use a condom.
Natsu will also be tested for sexually transmitted diseases before the encounter.
Migliorini signed up to the project two years ago after she saw an ad for "Virgins Wanted."
According to The Mirror, this is not the first time someone has sold her virginity online. British student Rosie Reid, sold her virginity on eBay in 2004 to pay for her college education. A 44-year-old BT engineer paid her £8,400. Also, a 22-year-old student from San Diego offered her virginity on eBay and attracted bids of more than $3.7 million.

I see no difference between this and prostitution.. But its a free world anyway...

Mr_Anony: so you pray? how do you know that God hears you?
I would expect one who started the universe to have no trouble hearing me..
Christianity EtcRe: My Mum Is Threatening To Disown Me Because I Am A Deist by AVmonster(op): 6:26pm On Sep 07, 2012
Mr_Anony: I didn't ask you about supernatural events, I asked how do you relate with God? Is it possible for you to communicate with God? If yes how?
thru prayer I guess..
Christianity EtcRe: My Mum Is Threatening To Disown Me Because I Am A Deist by AVmonster(op): 5:37pm On Sep 07, 2012
Mr_Anony: I also believe that God is greatest and does not need worship. My next question is how do you relate to God?
I believe majority of supernatural events are false.. So if something good happens to me.. I thank God for it as he made it possible by setting things in motion...
Christianity EtcRe: My Mum Is Threatening To Disown Me Because I Am A Deist by AVmonster(op): 5:16pm On Sep 07, 2012
Mr_Anony: You remind me of a younger version of myself. My best advice to you would be to continue searching for the truth but don't write God out of it just yet.
If I were you, I would have engaged with the pastors and had a debate with them. It would help you see your position from another angle. It will also help you see the flaws in their position.
Anyway, If you are interested, i will ask if you could explain to me your Deism? I'll really love to know.
I haven't written out God.. I'm still a theist.. I gonna try and make peace with her though.. I would like to avoid any confrontations like the kind I had with my friends in school... I don't feel the need to try to convert people. I believe in God.. Not from Abrahamic faiths though... I believe the God I believe in is more powerful than other gods b/c he doesn't need people to worship him to be who he is...
Christianity EtcMy Mum Is Threatening To Disown Me Because I Am A Deist by AVmonster(op): 4:19pm On Sep 07, 2012
I'm 17 years old and I became a Deist last year... I started doubting Christianity when I was 13.. Very young I know... I was lucky to discover how much I loved science when I was young (about 9 years old ). I did not like reading so I started watching documentaries... At that time I was only interested in history... Until I discovered the world of space.. Like my classmates in school I knew little of it.. One day, we had a lesson in class about the Earth's rotation. I got into a huge argument with the entire class cus I believed the Earth rotated around the sun.. My colleagues believed it was the other way round.. My teacher at the time never said anything and let me argue with the class. They taught me a fool because they all saw the sun moving round the earth.. At the end though, my teacher stopped us and explained it to us and congratulated me on not responding to pressure..
At that moment, I discovered none of my peers shared the same interests I had for knowledge.. I made my job to discuss everything I found out about space with my friends..
When I entered JS2, I found out about the sun being millions of degrees hot.. I decided that it had to be hell since all revelations of hell from people on TBN described the place as a ball of fire (which sounds kinda like the sun). I told my friends but kept the hell part to myself cus I had no proof for that..They all had no problems believing it. When I was in JSS3, I was 13.. I increased the amount of documentaries I watched and stopped watching cartoons altogether.. A show called "the Universe" was about to begin. They were going to investigate all Celestial bodies in our solar system.. I was very exited about the show and watched the entire first season without missing an episode. I learnt about nuclear fusion and fission, how the sun is powered(which until then I just taught was hell),rocky planets, that all star were Suns and that our sun is one of the small ones and for the first time, Gas Giants... So much information in so little time made me very exited, I couldn't wait to tell my friends.. When I told my friends they didn't believe me and gave me a very distasteful look.. I didn't mind as I figured they'd find out sooner or later..then on one of these episodes, they proposed that Jupiter was the star that the wise men saw that led them to Jesus.. This was the first time my faith, which I needed no proof to believe, and science, which gave proof for everything, started colliding.. I didn't believe the Jupiter-Star things as they made it clear it was a possibility... I told my friend about it and they laughed at me... They everyone in the schools what I taught, even they all I said was that "It was a possibility".. Soon teachers heard of it and brought me b4 the principal. They told me not to ever question the bible over anything ever again... I was disgraced in front of the entire school and made a fools of by my classmates who revealed all I told and made everything worse... They laughed at my ideas of fusion powering the sun and said no one could ever find out what powers the sun...
From that point on I swore to myself never to tell anyone anything I found out..
Upon all these things that happened I still believed the bible 100%.
One day, I saw a new program.. It was about Continental drift.. I had heard that all continents move about an inch per year but didn't think anything of it.. It was here I found out the truth on how old the earth was and why all continents look like puzzle pieces of each other... It all made sense.. The Genesis account fell to pieces in my head... If the earth is billions of years, then man has been around for billions of years since he was made on the sixth day.. I had to twist it to fit the age of the earth.. This made me extremely skeptical of the bible cus if the foundation is wrong or faulty, I hv no reason to believe to believe the rest of it.. Then there was evolution..
I started watching documentaries on evolution and though it made sense I didn't buy it..
Later, evolution was taught in school.. My teacher, firstly, told us it was all lies and we should not believe a word of it.. I asked, " Then, why teach it?" "It was part of the curriculum" he answered me. When he talked about fossil records he said the does fossils are all ancient Siamese twins.. I started to believe evolution after I heard his pathetic defense..
When I became sixteen, I entered the
OAU and I met a deist who explained deism to me... I slowly found all the key flaws in the bible and decided I was not gonna live my life by a book with so many flaws.. I still fully respect religious and irreligious people...
I told my mum of my position last week as I was tired of being forced to church on holidays.. she became furious and now is threatening to disown me if I don't convert back.. She went as far as calling pastors from her Church to preach to me. When I refused to even speak with them she called me a bad seed... What can I do to fix this, any advice?
