By Ricky Awodi Nigeria’s Naira is holding steady against the US Dollar at the start of the week, and some people are calling it a rare moment of relief. But can we really trust this calm? At the official market, the Naira trades around ₦1,356 per dollar, a small shift compared to last week’s ₦1,344–₦1,370 range. Meanwhile, the parallel market is still higher, with rates around ₦1,410–₦1,430 in Lagos and Abuja. According to Parrot Newspaper, the stability is linked to reforms by the Central Bank of Nigeria, especially the Electronic Foreign Exchange Matching System (EFEMS), which has curbed speculative trading and improved transparency.
