The incident occurred as the minister was leaving the FCTA Secretariat through a rear exit amid the ongoing industrial action by FCTA workers.
Eyewitnesses said protesting workers moved towards the minister’s convoy in an apparent attempt to stop it, forcing security operatives to swiftly intervene and clear the route.
The protest is part of a broader strike action by FCTA workers and allied unions over unresolved grievances with the FCT administration.
There was no official statement from the minister or the FCTA at the time of filing this report, while union leaders maintained that the protest was peaceful and aimed at drawing attention to workers’ demands.

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Alwan Hassan, has claimed that 95 per cent of ministers who served under former President Muhammadu Buhari should be behind bars, alleging that their tenure was a period of unchecked power and alleged corruption.
Asked about recent scrutiny of Buhari-era officials, including ex-Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami and a former Labour Minister Chris Ngige, Hassan said: “95 per cent of the ministers under Buhari should be in jail by now.
