susolzik: You report to Kaduna if you make the shortlist, they'll screen your certificates and verify your age, next is the medical if you scale through, you go for 3.2km race. After that you do physical exercise/drilling. After the 3.2km race, none can be evicted again. After the drilling, you go for psychosocial tests and written exam, then you face the selection panel comprising of the GOC and members of the selection board. They'll ask you questions that relate to your discipline, your preparedness to pay the supreme sacrifice and questions around the world. That's all Thank yu, very informative... what if someone can't run the whole 3.2km, ll the person be disqualified? |

erooOluwa: Thank God you have located here already. Let's fire on. Victory is from God. Third class or no third class, let the person give it a trial. There was a time Navy mention 2nd class Lower as the minimum qualification but a Third Class holder scaled through that year and he became an Officer. Almighty God's decision cannot be stopped. Thank yu...! |

emmaraj: As a DSSC officer, you're first and foremost a soldier before your profession comes into play. You might be deployed to a conflict zone to perform your profession if the need arises. And concerning whether you should forfeit because of the "godfather" factor, please don't. People with godfathers have lost out on so many opportunities though some were lucky, and God is father over all.
Life is all about risks, if you can please try and make it to selection board if you're among those shortlisted. It's better you give your best than live the rest of your life thinking "what if"
Godspeed. 'God is father over all'... I concur, very true! |

Sunnysteve009: ATTENTION ATTENTION ATTENTION it is dishearten that some people are using this thread to discorage our galant female asparant from applying in the on going ssc, i dont no the reason behind it, some even claim that they are in the last 2014 ssc recruitment and they are giving false information people like sosulz, i was in kaduna NDA in the last 2014 ssc final interview, three females only were invited and were all droped on medicals ground because they all did not meet the required height as stated in the advert, this is what they told me after they were all droped because i had a chat wit them, and as a mater of fact 2 females that make it to interview in 2013 were all sucessful which i saw them in the camp, advice nigeria army give special consideration to female provided they make it to final selection board because they are always few. |

susolzik: Are you saying that kwara lady doesn't have the 1.65 required height or that Anambra lady too is shorter? Yes,there were 2013 cadets who were female, but height was just given as excuse for their 2014 disqualification. Are you aware the Kwara girl has a popular General from kwara as godfather and was told she won't make the list cos ladies weren't needed. To those ladies that want to apply for ssc, no harm in trying but your chance might be slimmer. #myopinion Please can yu enlighten me on what the selection interview entails... just to prepare my mind in case. Yur response ll be highly appreciated. |

xule20: SSC is a Combatant Short Service Commission (formerly known as Short Regular Commission, SRC) that is meant for those interested in field Operations AKA War or peace-keeping or Combat Operations (U assume the rank of second Lieutenant in the army -*- and R usually fielded into Infantry Corps of the Nigerian army after 9mths - 12mths of training); after 18mths - 2yrs U receive your first promotion to Lieutenant -**- and your subsequent promotions are 4years a rank or as vacancies/slots arise. When U achieve your 6th Year (Usually when U R or awaiting to assume the rank of Captain -***-), U will have the option to retire or convert to Regular commission after a physical exercise; U degree U R welcome. Navy insists on maximum of 30yrs and younger with first degree for DSSC....... Army, Navy, Air force is anyone's choice. Army is a place people R wary of because they have a tradition of promoting at a slower rate than others (though that is changing now), Air force is a place deemed better than army in terms of rate of promotions, though the level of discrimination for appointments against DSSC is far higher than that of army (in the army the man who can do the job and is qualified gets its; airforce they will consider Regular Commission qualified or not before DSSC). Navy is deemed the best in terms of pay and other things; the problem is that its deemed the most difficult to enter...........so U choose as your Spirit leads Please, do yu have any idea how many people they employ from each state or for each course? Kindly reply... |
