Well, not by any chance supporting the current situation of the country, but this comparison no follow at all. If you go backward to let's say 1980, the cost of a bag of cement may even be less than N20. Minimum wage now is 30k, which is being reviewed. What was the average earnings in 1992? Even in the US, where you all take as model, prices of commodities in the nineties are not the same today. Global inflation is the word. As I said, I'm not by any chance supporting the current harsh situation in Nigeria but that comparison is off track.

Inflation in Nigeria is 29%? Is that the same rate in US as well? I went too far, Benin Republic next door. Comedian.

I'm from Akwa ibom.
AKWA IBOM is only big on paper and on the internet.
Nothing is working here, apart from worship centers, big hotels, beautiful stadiums and 10 lanes roads, human capital development here is zero, unemployment is very high, and the government is doing nothing about it.
But you will see ignorant Akwa ibomites bragging about having the best worship centers, stadiums and hotel in Nigeria.
You can quote me and insult me, but I must let people know this bitter truth.

This fool - gare is one of them. Worship center celebrant.

It's really saddening. That cursed Raymond Dokpesi listed his AIT on the Stock Exchange, and millions of Nigeria including myself bought Shares in the company, after few years, that vagabond de-listed his company from the Exchange while the company is still existing, and without returning our investment. The fraudulent company continues to operate while nothing is being mentioned about our investment. Thoss criminals that run the Exchange watched as we are scammed because they are part of the gang. These so called rich men are hell bent on making the average Nigerians return to poverty level, so that they will have only the Rich and the Poor, the want the Middle Class completely erased. Our God will continue to punish them.

Since 2004 when I started buying company Shares, if I had used the money to marry three wives, by now, I will have about 15 children and 60 grandchildren grin angry

Guy you are so funny 😆 but damn! You are the set of Nigerians who lost money in the 2008/09 stock market crash. I was just getting into the labor market then. Nigeria has always been a crime scene. I hope in time you make back all your losses including wives and children cheesy

Politics / Re: Hunger Protests: Why Tinubu Can’t Govern Like Buhari By Farooq A. Kperogi by azpekuliar: 9:13pm On Feb 10
brain54:
"I know of no CBN governor in my lifetime (until Cardoso) who couldn’t articulate economic policies effortlessly. Even Godwin Emefiele had no difficulty defending his policies. You may question his competence or disagree with his policies, but he could at least clearly formulate thoughts about what he was doing. Cardoso gives me the jitters. Nigeria is in way worse trouble than it realizes with an airhead like that as CBN governor."

This part off me...

Anyway Tinubu also has a cult like following. But not as loyal as Buhari's. Many are beginning to shift loyalty!

Stop playing. He has no such cult like following. Someone who lost his state of birth and his adopted base where he has his political base. Could never have happened to Buhari. His so-called cult follower is limited to out-of-school children turned cultists, street thugs and “agebros”. Buhari’s followership straddled both the educated and non-educated classes.

As if all that is not enough our lives are worth almost nothing. I just saw another video of cars attacked by bandits on the Akoko - Kabba highway. The driver of one of the vehicles was shot dead just to be able to bring the car to a halt and whisk all the occupants into the bush. Anyway when una celebrate una nations cup victory finish Nigerians will come back to stare reality in the face and decide when enough is actually enough.
