Politics › Re: What The Six Geopolitical Zones Contributed To The VAT Pool And Received In 2024 by babat89: 5:04pm On Jan 25, 2025 |
naijacann: The information is deceptive in a way and distorts the contributions of SE It failed to account for the percentage of South Easterners residing in various parts of the country and contributing hugely to this VAT. Remove SE indigenes' consumption strength/ expenditures from Rivers(SS), Edo (SS), Lagos (SW), Abuja (NC) Delta (SS) and Kano (North) and lets see what their VAT would eventually be. Everyone knows south easterners travel a lot and contributes hugely to wherever they reside. This is why I believe the data is deceptive and does not give the whole picture. How about the areas where the South Easterners are predominant? The South East! No dey cap rubbish oga. |

The North just expects free money from the South. The North lives off the South.

djon78: There might be a Truth to it because Alhaji was very frustrated after the debacle he had with the refinanery. He was even regretting it because ondo and later ogun where the first place he wanted to build the refinery. Alhaji regretted putting that kind of whooping $20 billion dollar investment. He felt he was sweet tongued into bringing that to Lagos. So the drama after completing the refinery really unnerved him So if he situated the refinery in his village, the Oil&Gas cabal would have left him alone? Or which kain reasoning be dis? |

onuman: Even if president Tinubu uses the National Assembly to pass his Tax Reforms Bill and goes to the Supreme Court to stamp it, when he leaves office, the north shall use its undue large political representation in the National Assembly to reverse everything. If political representation is balanced through merger of ailing states in the north, or creation of new states and representative constituencies to fill the yawning gap between the north and the two southern regions, whatever other political reforms of this administration shall stand long after Tinubu leaves office. Are there only 2 southern regions? |

kettykin: The relocation wave is surging with intensity. Landmark Group has boldly uprooted and shifted its entire operations. One can only hope that the dominant Niger Delta-owned banks and oil giants will seize the moment, relocating their headquarters—or at least a significant part of their operations—to Port Harcourt. Failure to act now risks leaving the region vulnerable to the next toxic chapter of political neglect and economic marginalization as the proverbial cock crows its timely warning.
Due to numerous inquiries in the thread.PH was part an parcel of the Eastern region. PH was originally developed to evacuate coal from Enugu. PH was originally called Igweocha.
They are absolutely losing their minds over a business that coughs up N10 Billion per year in taxes relocating to PH . Imagine the chaos if bigger players like Access Bank, UBA, Zenith Bank, Seplat, Nextoil, or even the Zinox Group decide to pack up and leave too. Lagos is living on borrowed time, and the clock is ticking.
Word on the street is that even Dangote is fed up with Lagos’ endless drama. Rumor has it he’s planning to move his main HQ to Abuja and rent out his Lagos office once it’s finished. If that happens, expect BUA to follow suit, and Lagos will finally settle into the role everyone’s been envisioning: the economic hub of Yoruba land and little more. Ogbeni don drop beer palour gist? Word on the street...🤣 You don ever see Dangote one-on-one for your life? |

Hussein035: They will also be told that you were marginalized because of your forefathers greediness. What happened was that before oil was discovered in the South the north was the region feeding the country. All revenue generated from cocoa and other agriculture products were shared to all regions including SS and SE and there was no problem and your forefathers were happy with it
But immediately oil was discovered in Bayelsa your forefathers forgot that the revenue is supposed to be shared just like they were doing to cocoa. Your forefathers immediately realized that they are igbo and DECIDED to become a Biafran nation because of their greediness not to share a natural gift with other regions whereas other region was feeding them when they had nothing
Hope you understand now You are a liar, the North NEVER fed the country. NEVER! The North was and has always been very poor! The British lumped the North and South together so that the North could thrive. The North is no different from their brothers in Niger. The cash crops that generated money from Nigeria were Cocoa, Rubber, Palm... Stop the lies oga. You have no claim to one Nigeria. It is either we restructure or we go our seperate ways. You cannot impose Sharia in your states then prevent other people from doing what they want to. |

edebemba: You asked a very important question 'why she had the names of her accounts under fictitious names?". OK, we are still reasoning. In Economics, one of the sources of raising business capital is by borrowing from friends and relatives. You may have business ideas but do not have money to execut it. Your friend or relative may have money but do not know where to invest it on. If you approach your friend and he buys into your idea, he will give you the money for the business. Now, if your friend or relative gives you the money, are you going to deposit the money in your friend's account name? Have you not heard about people who give out money to others and remain as dormant partners? Remember, that man, Dauda, was SA to Jonathan and he came from Yenogoa. He and Mrs Jonathan must have some kind of rrelationship for she to give him that kind of money. I am just thinking. Do you believe youself? |

A girl who doesn't know how to dress is 'doing hersef!' when those thin-legged gehs outside there catch her bobo she wee understand. Life is all about balance, balance on a knife-edge. Don't be bad-bad and don't be holier-than-thou. It's just that difficult-to-explain point between the two. I guess the girl wouldn't shave her personal areas regularly too.
