What I remember from history class while I was on the continent = the transatlantic slave trade and colonization. Now how is anyone supposed to develop a sense of pride based on tha ? In my mid-twenties I was exposed to the works of Chancellor Williams (The destruction of Black civilization) and Ivan Van Sertima (They came before Columbus: the African presence in Ancient America ; Golden Age of the Moor). These books played a major role in me becoming "woke". You come to realize the spiritual and psychological warfare on the African mind are very real and must be countered instead of downplayed.

Imagine if African children were taught about the Moors and how their settlement in Spain is really what allowed (western) Europe to come out of the Dark Ages. Would they still view the white man as superior/a savior and his female counterpart as a prize ? And what would ancient Greece have been without Kemet ?
