The Nigerian designers that export traditional attires to American teenagers for use during prom.
Etc
Those are the type of people that I am referring to, not BangaRice or BangaSoup. Cc Naptu2. Dangote is smilling now because of weak Niara. Whahaahaha. The economy is sliding down and someone with a brain thinks it is good when businesses declare bogus profits but shrink on global scale. |

bigrovar: Major Upgrade to My Solar Setup (20kW Hybrid System)
I just wrapped up a big upgrade to my solar system. It’s now a 20kW hybrid solar setup — built mainly on traditional off-grid components, but I also added some grid-tie functionality using Deye Micro Inverters in AC-coupled mode.
This project has been in the works for over a year, and there’s a lot going on under the hood beyond just the specs:
IoT & Control: Built a custom system computer using a Raspberry Pi 4 Compute Module running Venus OS + Node-RED.
Smart Automation: Created several Node-RED flows to keep the system efficient. One cool one uses the Solcast weather forecast to predict tomorrow’s solar yield and automatically decide whether to allow grid input — and how much.
Monitoring & Dashboard: I switched to Grafana for visualization. The new dashboard gives a detailed view of performance and energy data.
I’m working on a detailed overview (with schematics) to explain how everything is connected. Hopefully, it will inspire anyone looking to build or upgrade their own setup.
👉 Live Dashboard: https://helio.openculture.org.ng/public-dashboards/867d6afd562543508eaf080533e7b652 One day we will hear that a nairalander has built rechargeable transformer for his area. That may be you. Consider installing industrial machines ogga. |

surgical: you still saying this gibberish, nobody was subsidising any forex ,they fix it the prices based on what they want to achieve, Tinubu devalue the naira without having the production to export being a net importer ,that was a dumb move ,there is no painting anything, if it were a smart move we will all see it in manifestation not in explanation What Nigeria is feeling is the effect of a wrecked economy Fixing of price connotes subsidy if you understand economics well. What should be selling for N1500-N1700 was going for N400-N700. Thats not fixing but outright subsidy disquised with grammar. |

naptu2: More expensive imports.
Your post is very funny.
You are obviously not one of the people that I was referring to. You are seeing the short term effect and not the long term effect it has on the system. After rushing to sell your raw materials because of weak economy and currency, there are more people trying to import instead of producing locally. At the end the naira losses value until an equilibrium is achieved between demand & supply to stabilize the currency value. If the economy isnt strengthened by production all gains are temporal and stand the risk of being eroded by the imports that replace local production. |

musa234: Complete nonsense. Everyone knows the naira became even weaker under your lord and personal saviour,Tinubu. Don't try to change the narrative. Not as weak as the numbers says. Deregulation of forex sales is not weakening. The true Value of naira has always been low but it was subsidized. Thats like saying petrol should keep selling for what it sold for when subsidized. |
Business › Re: Forbes Report Says Nigerian Naira Now Ninth Weakest Currency In Africa by BangaRice: 6:47am On Sep 28, 2025 |
naptu2: Very good.
It's time for people who understand how economies work to take advantage of this. there is no advantage to this other than export of raw materials that ought to be value-added before export. The economy itself is weak thats why the currency is weak. If the room to improve the economy and thus add value isnt there or good enough, the people export raw materials and get forex in th short term but eventually imports due to weak economy will erode that short term gain and you have an overall loss in the long run. |

Mynd44: This reports can only be taken seriously by people ho dont understand how international currencies work.
This report means that the Ghanaian Cedis at 12.31 is stronger than the South Korean Won at 1,409.20 to a dollar.
Okay na while the data shouldn't be interpreted in absolute sense as it appears, it shouldnt be totally disregarded too. The strength of a currency is in the quality of market backing it from the domain where it is spent officially. Thats where the weakness comes from. |

dollarnaira: Waste of time to you and you only. Funny guy. Stay there while Valto and Mrreed are making cool cash via diy. You dey here dey talk cost of gum. This shows u know nothing about diy. Something you have not even tried out. Relax man. it is logic, why solder and gum 500 pcs of 18650 cells when you can do same with 12 or 18 bigger cells? Passion shouldn't lead to ignoring efficiency. Let me ask, in your 18650 DIY packs, how do you handle cases where after ssoldering and deploying the whole pack, few cells become weak and dont hold charge enough, thus unsettling the whole pack? You take it all apart and start doing tests or what exactly? Please riddle me that one. |

mctfopt: Chinese lithium battery market is crazy.
Loads of shady deals going on there.
If you have a good supplier hold am tight.
The rabbit hole is sure very deep.
My guy bought 250 pieces of 100AH supposedly new cells. Cells arrive and it's used cells with a new cell wrap. Supplier is saying they are not aware. Case still ongoing.
DIY is still king. Can't have it any other way. The issue i discover about we buyers is assuming what favours us. Most cells arent grade A and they hint by including something like "<=5000 cycles" in the specs. Some are even rated less than 2000 cycles. It shows you that out of the total lifecycles, someone has used some of it thus the lesser than symbol. Some chinkos also exploit the space created by such gaps in estimated life cycles of cells to sell not so good cells. |

Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by BangaRice: 10:09am On Sep 09, 2025 |
dollarnaira: Just coupling 4 to 16 cells with bolts and nuts is super less stressful compared to welding lithium ion cells of hundreds. exactly if they can understand that shape or size doesnt have to be 18650 of 2000-3500 mah always. Go for bigger cells of around 50 AH and finish the job in 10 minutes. Fewer chances of cell failure that will necessitate taking the pack apart to regroup it again. What we embrace and glorify here as DIY is largely a waste of time. Hobby or passion does justify waste of time. Time itself is a resource. The cost of gum alone ti glue 400 cells is scary. |

AMINDA: He doesn't have immunity and is out of government, what is stopping Tinubu from persecuting him? Over 106 people died this weekend. Is Elrufai responsible for that? What about the killings in Zamfara, Yelwata, Kwara and other places? Singling out the Southern Kaduna killings and attributing it to Elrufai is part of why the government and their leaders will remain lackadaisical about addressing it. Elrufai is no longer in power so they cannot even amplify the deaths anymore due to political reasons but in reality, the killings never stopped. secret society immunity supercedes constitutional immunity. |
