israelmao: El-Rufai taking the form of a humane leader this day in quite surprising and amusing considering his 8-year draconian rule as Kaduna State governor riddled with discriminatory delivery of justice and open hostility against Southern Kaduna..There is no moral ground on which he can stand to cast the first stone because he has been found wanting against what he is preaching today while in power. The same way it amuses many when peter OBI speaks as one human right activist, technocrat and economic pundit . This is a formal governor of a backward state and a VP candidate to somebody he described as criminal and thief in Nigeria, who never studied any econonics related course nor ever fight against power that be untill he wanted to become president. It’s completely emotional game on the citizens which purely evil. They understand the emotional weakness of the citizens and they keep exploiting it. It’s sad. True leader must be consistent in power and out of power The emotional weakness are 1.We are very forgetful 2.In group bias- Even when we remember or know how stupid someone is he will always resonate with us because he belongs to our tribe, party, religion and share in our hatred for the government....Now the obidients, northerners,ADC faithfuls etc see him as hero despite the fact that he represents everything he condemns...same for APC folks when it comes to Wike |

Politics › Re: Tinubu Didn't Introduce Lagos Metroline, He Rebranded The Jakande's Metro Option by Basic123: 11:26am On Jan 27 |
OverCalculating: In 1991, Lagos traffic had become unbearable. Commuters spent hours stuck on bridges and roads, and frustration was everywhere. The Lagos State Government believed it had found a lasting solution years earlier: a metroline that would move over one million people daily and finally reduce pressure on the roads. But the project never took off.
According to Citizen:
▶️ The Lagos Metroline project, first conceived under Governor Lateef Jakande, was designed as a modern mass transit system that would run across the city at commercial speeds of about 40km/h. The plan included 30 trains, each carrying up to 570 passengers per trip, and was projected to move over a million people daily.
▶️ The contract, valued at ₦698.5 million, was awarded to Inter Infra Company of France, with the Lagos State Government providing counterpart funding. By the time the project was suspended, over ₦100 million had already been spent. Then everything collapsed.
▶️ After Jakande left office, the military administration under Commodore Mudashiru Lawal cancelled the project. The government claimed the cost was too high and that Lagos could not sustain it. The French contractors sued Nigeria and won. Lagos State eventually paid $100 million in damages for breach of contract.
▶️ Yet, years later, the traffic situation only got worse.
▶️ The much-celebrated Third Mainland Bridge expansion failed to ease congestion. Public transport remained chaotic. Buses were overcrowded. Movement across the city became a daily struggle. One commuter said, “We thought the bridge would solve everything. But two hours later, we were still here.”
▶️ Experts and planners interviewed by Citizen argued that road expansion alone could never solve Lagos traffic. The real issue, they said, was the absence of a proper mass transit system.
▶️ Former governor Jakande insisted the metroline was the right decision. He dismissed claims that the project had failed in other countries, stating clearly that the Lagos plan was different and financially viable. He maintained that if allowed to continue, the metroline would have transformed movement across the city.
▶️ Transport experts warned that without a rail-based system, Lagos would only sink deeper into congestion. Some officials proposed reviving the metroline through public shareholding or private investment, but nothing concrete followed.

DoTheNeedful: Some Nigerians enjoy trashing Nigerian universities.
Having studied in Nigerian federal universities and earning a doctorate in the US, I can say that Nigerian universities are not as terrible as some people make them out to be. I am not claiming that everything is perfect but Nigerians are often too hard on the country’s university system.
You would be surprised at the accomplishments of recent graduates from Nigerian universities in top American universities and research institutions. During my graduate studies, I never felt like an outlier in classes filled with students from the US, China, Iran, India, Europe, and elsewhere. I was doing MSC in International public health in Liverpool John Morees University then dropped out to start a masters of public health in Ahmadu Bello University,I can say it anywhere that the quality of education and knowledge have gained in ABU dwarf that of LJMU by 1000! Nigerian Universities are not really jokes! |

That said, Wizkid seems to have been riding on the legacy of Ojuelegba from years past while continuing to project an image of greatness. Buhari never worked against tinubu personally but those close to him did.. because they all k ew what he does in Lagos and has now brought it to the center
I never said a cabal in the north .. I said the bristling left power with the north when they left and still communicate same with and work with the north , more better than the south.. they never gave power to awolowo or zik but to sauduana and his people . Zik aligned .. if not for 66 and the propaganda that followed .. the east would have still be aligning .. but the Yoruba media propaganda that brought them into the center through awolowo.. and replace the east with Yoruba Gej is very a minority in the minority south south region yet he won .. don’t say Yoruba winning is something special .. if not Yoruba hatred for the Igbo tribe .. eastern Nigeria would have been there a multiple times All Nigerians knows and understands the electoral propagandists unleashed against igbos during and before electoral year.
Northern Nigeria remains the key power brokers in nigeria So its about Igbo vs yoruba to you! |

I thought Agbadorians told us Governor Abba Kabir is a big fish and will deliver Kano to Tinubu? Why is Tinubu still begging Kwankwaso despite his outrageous demands and his insistence on having the V.P slot? Kwankwaso is using his threats of defecting to ADC as leverage to get Tinubu to do his bidding because he knows he's desperate.
