Johnjustice:
If we don't destroy dollars it will destroy Nigeria.

Ban dollar use inside Nigeria now. Naira is our legal tender, with this, it is illegal to spend any other currency inside Nigeria or use any other currency for payment.
this wouldn't address the root cause of our failures...

Generating revenues and supply of dollars is what will keep us afloat as a nation... we need to as a country invest in security, innovation and large scale manufacturing...

And the government should be serious about fighting corruption.. we should destroy corruption rather than destroy the dollars...

Our country is too corrupt...

Removing petrol subsidy suddenly on the day of his inauguration without planning for the consequences of such massive policy change?

Floating Naira without adequate plan to contain the effects of such tricky policy change especially given our criminally poor forex earning capacity?

Being couple of months away from one year in office but still hasn't have a clear comprehensive plan to revive the economy?

Is the one flaunted Renewed Hope Manifesto an empty beautiful document?

Ebi npa wa!

magoo10:
Where are those quack accountants that said borrowing is normal ,they even went ahead to compare Nigeria with other developed nations that borrow.
You have oil but because you borrow too much to fund corruption and embezzlement the oil looks useless today as it is used to pay for the recklessness of yesterday . Continue borrowing
those fools are very useless people...any one who has listened to them and even by the slightest chance thought that they were making sense is also stupid.

We compare our very corrupt country with other trail blazing countries just to support our take loan - embezzle loan cycle.

We must get sense soon for this country.. and the fool who initiated thus madness is relaxing at daura..

Business / Re: Nigerians Spent $98 Billion On Foreign Trips, Education In 10 Years – CBN by bayelsaowei(m): 6:49am On Feb 07
Nigerians have spent more money on education and health care outside of Nigeria than in Nigeria. More so, these monies spent is higher than the FGs budget allocation for education and health care.

This says a whole lot. If our hospitals and schools are fixed to standard Nigeria would have saved and trapped these FX in country, thereby making the naira a healthy currency.

festacman:
Managing the economy is more than fiscal and monetary manipulations. The key thing is productive economic activities.

- President Tinubu, please come back home sir. Nigeria needs a new economic foundation.
- Convoke a something like 'National Economic Conference' to develop a nationwide roadmap that will tap the economic potentials of geopolitical zones
- Set up a versatile economic think-tank and keep an open mind to their ideas. Look beyond Wale Edun and work with some crazy young minds to create out-of-box ideas for policies and programs.
- Develop short and long-term Economic and Development Plans and actively Implement it.
- Be positively strong-willed and don't sacrifice crucial things that MUST be done today for tomorrow's 2nd term. Nigerians will always appreciate positive results.
- Stimulate production in different aspects of the economy through incentives, make vital reforms of laws and processes, enthrone intentional concessions, etc.
- Move focus and relocate effort from attracting FDIs to encourage local industries, SMEs and entrepreneurs.
- Create more employments, boost local food production develop creative export drive strategies to earn forex.
you expect all these from corruption?

It means further increase in the prices of things across boards. Tougher times ahead but, for the sake of our sanity, let's remember...

1. Tough times never lasts but tough people do.

2. Every problem is an opportunity if only you can take a second look.

3. Elections have consequences. So, let's use this opportunity to learn our hands-on bitter lessons.
majority of Nigerians will and can never learn..they are frozen in real time..

Is it not many fools who were out there collecting perfumes and what not from Desmond elliot? Is it not also many fools here on nairaland still praising this present administration that they are doing just fine??

It is almost impossible for majority of Nigerians to have sense.

OP too made good his point by pointing out the aspect Omokri didn't spell out for Nigerians.
on one hand we want FDI and then on the other hand we should run away from them...

Instead of the foolish Reno to just hold the Nigerian government accountable for plummeting our economy and the lives of Nigerians he is there speaking like he knows it all..

Reno is a glorified rabble-rouser who lacks actual substance. So based on his logic, Nigerians with investments in other countries should not repatriate profits back to Nigeria after certain periods. They should simply leave their profits in the overseas countries of investment forever. So investors are now father Christmas? If the Nigerian government makes this their official stance, which foreign investor would be crazy enough to bring their hard earned money to Nigeria?

Furthermore, GLO is not a publicly traded company so they are not obligated to reveal much about their financial structure. How sure is Reno that 100 percent of their revenue stays in Nigeria?
you dey mind the idiot...then in the same vein he goes ahead to support dangotes purchase of foreign crude with the scarce FX available in the country..
