The US seized a lot of documents from the compound of Al-Qaeda founder, Osama Bin Laden during the 2011 raid in which he was killed. Due to national security and sensitivity issues, most of those documents have not been released to the public. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) recently released one such file which sheds light on Osama's liberal views towards masturbation.

In 2015, US officials refused to release details on the 'extensive' porn collection found in Osama bin Laden's Pakistani hideout because of the 'nature' of the material.

Certificates obtained outside Nigeria will continue to be more valued and considered over those obtained in the country due to some factors, the United Kingdom-based Metropolitan School of Business and Management, has said.

Among the reasons adduced for the value placed on foreign certificates by the institution include “use of dynamic and relevant practice-based approaches” and the combination of corporate experience with “interactive teaching methodology with live case studies”.


The Assistant Country Director of MSBM (Nigeria), Mosisiye Kayode, stated this in Abuja during the Enterprise 101 workshop organised for business managers, young professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs.

She said,
“We have affiliations with schools in the UK but anyone participating in our school in Abuja has worked, studied and lived in the UK at a particular time because you cannot give what you do not have. So anyone who is going to teach in our class is someone who has studied, worked and lived in the UK .

“If you have a certificate from the UK, it is more appreciated because they know that we don’t just give you the teaching, we give you the real life scenario.

“Enterprise 101 has always been a vision of ours; we have actually been looking forward to bringing in people and entrepreneurs in Abuja to come around because most of them have things they will want to share with other young people just for young aspiring entrepreneurs to actually gain from.”

A civil servant and one of the participants, Chukwugozim Melekwe, said that regardless of his exposure to business from an early age and a successful job, the workshop was a platform to further learn and network to broaden his scope in business.

Another participant, Yinka Lanre, said that businesses in Abuja were recording turnovers in billions.

The police in Lagos have arrested a suspected one-chance robber, Ajibola Alao, for allegedly dispossessing some residents of the state of valuables during robbery attacks. The suspect, however, explained that he became a robber to secure his siblings future, saying he didn’t want them to end up as robbers like him.

Alao was arrested last Thursday by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad after dispossessing a resident, Asotie Benedict, of his phones and money in the Oshodi area of the state.An official of the RRS said the suspect and his gang had pushed the victim out of the bus while in motion.

He said,
“The suspect, in company with the driver and conductor of their operational bus, a Volkswagen bus with number plate, APP 820 XE, picked up the victim at Ladipo. He was to alight at Oshodi under bridge.
“However, when they sighted officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority at that bus Stop, they pretended they were ascending the bridge towards Oshodi Oke. It was at that point that they dispossessed him of his two mobile phones and a wallet containing N60,000. They then threw him out while the vehicle was in motion.”
The victim, in his statement to the police, said they gave him N100 as transport fare back home after throwing him out.

He stated that he, however, chased the vehicle till he spotted a patrol van of the RRS and raised the alarm.

“They chased the vehicle to a halt and arrested Alao, who took all I had on me. But the driver and the conductor abandoned the vehicle and escaped.
“All they took from me were found in his possession and some additional phones, which he said they took from previous victims,” he added.
Alao, in his statement, allegedly admitted to being member of a three man one-chance gang that operated in the Oshodi area, saying he had once been arrested by the police.

He said, “I have been in the business of one chance since 2015. I was once a pickpocket, joining buses to Sango, Agege, Oshodi, Apapa, and disembarking after stealing from commuters.
“At a time, I was arrested by the Mushin Olosa Police station. My mum, who was ill and on admission in a hospital at that time, was brought to see me. She pleaded with the officers and secured my bail.
“She insisted that I should stop stealing from people. She added that the consequences would be too severe for me if I went back to crime. A few weeks after the incidence, she died.”

He said he went back to crime to raise funds for his siblings so they would not feel the absence of their mother and also to secure their future.
“I went back to crime to raise funds for my siblings so that they won’t follow the same path. I am the first child and the breadwinner of the family. Since the death of my mother, I have been taking care of my brothers.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said the suspect had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, for further investigation.

The Ghanaian woman and her three children who died in a fire outbreak in Finland, have all been laid to rest. The late Nana Ago Prah and her three children died in the early hours of Friday, December 9, 2016, when their home was razed down by the fire. John Kwame Atta Owusu, the husband and father was at work at the time the tragic incident occurred.

The woman and her kids were buried in Helsinki, Finland on Saturday, February 4, 2017.

Tightening its screw on the multi-crore ponzi scam, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), India's premier law enforcement agency for the investigation of corruption cases, on Friday, February 3, arrested Mir Sahiruddin, managing director of Green Ray International Limited (GRIL) who was on the run for nearly three years.

A native of Balasore district, Sahiruddin was hiding with his family in Nigeria. He had entered India on Bangladesh passport by impersonating him as Ahmed Hussain and was arrested from Kolkata.

Confirming his arrest, a CBI official from New Delhi said Sahiruddin of Sasanbad village under Jaleswar police limits had returned from Nigeria a few days back.
"Earlier a look out circular was issued against him and other directors of the company. He will be brought to Bhubaneswar on Saturday," he said.

GRIL is accused of duping nearly Rs 2,000 crore from poor and unsuspecting investors of Odisha and 13 other states on the pretext of providing them astronomical returns in a short span of time.
On September 28, 2015, CBI sleuths had raided different branch offices of the ponzi firm.

The raids were conducted at 13 places in Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Khurda and Nayagarh districts. Corporate office and houses of the company officials at Jaleswar and relative’s house at Tarpur in Jajpur were also raided simultaneously.

The national probing agency had seized documents related to the chit-fund scam and schemes floated by the company, which has foreign connections and alleged links with anti-national forces.

Sources said, Bhubaneswar CBI SP Rajiv Ranjan had been tracking Sahiruddin since long. Altogether 13 cases were registered against the company authorities under various sections of IPC and Prize Chits and Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act 1978 in Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Sonepur and Khurda districts in 2013. Chhattisgarh police also had registered five cases and arrested one director Ayub Saha and one branch manager. Sources said GRIL which dealt in gold and silver trading possessed nearly 20.68 acres of land in Balasore district that had been confiscated by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch.

The company had a deposit of Rs 57,41,541 in 46 accounts, which was frozen while the EOW had seized Rs 9,55,745 in cash, 246 gram gold coins worth Rs 4,15,751 and 9.5 kg silver coins worth Rs 6,66,200.

Apart from the 41 branches in the State, GRIL had 67 more branches in Maharashtra, Goa, Jharkhand, Chhatisgarh, Bihar, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat besides its international branch in Bar Dubai. Earlier, Sahiruddin was arrested by State Security Service (SSS), the primary domestic intelligence agency of Nigeria on July 15, 2015 on the grounds of suspected money laundering. Later, he managed to obtain bail.

The accused was hiding at Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, with family to hoodwink the CBI. He was also allegedly involved in gold trading. Investigations revealed that his company had transferred crores of rupees from India to Dubai and then Nigeria through hawala brokers.
