Information reaching https://lifes-prings..com.ng/ from the local news source states that:

Parents and guardians in Akure and some towns across Ondo State stormed various schools in panic on Tuesday to withdraw their children.
This was a result of the rumour that some soldiers were purportedly going to schools to force pupils to take immunisation.

In one of the schools visited by https://lifes-prings..com.ng/ crew in the state capital, some parents were seen in agitation to take their children home but the school authorities shut the entrance gate, saying the report was false.

At another school, the headteacher, Mrs Bosede Orisamehin, said some parents besieged the school to withdraw their children, claiming they heard that some soldiers were forcefully administering immunisation on schoolchildren.

She said the security man quickly locked the gate but the angered parents damaged the gate and gained entrance into the school premises, prompting the school authorities to close for the day.
Public Relations Officer of the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Akure, Major Ojo Adenegan, however, described the immunisation report as false.

He said the Army does not and will not engage in immunisation of children as it was not part of its duties, blaming some bad elements in the society for spreading such rumour.

“We are using this medium to inform the general public to disregard such information; there is no ongoing medical outreach in Ondo State. The information is the handiwork of mischief makers and should be treated as such,” he said.

Adenegan further appealed to parents not to panic as the security agencies in the state were fully on ground to ensure the safety of residents of the state.

Similar, the Ondo State government asked the people to go about their businesses without any fear, saying they should by rest assured of their adequate security.
According to a statement signed by the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Yemi Olowolabi, investigations revealed that the news was false.

He said, “The state government wishes to inform parents, students, teachers, school authorities and the general public that the rumor is baseless, unfounded and should be disregarded. Real-time investigation across the state has shown that none of such things exist in Ondo State.”

Olowolabi also urged residents to be on alert in case of any strange occurrence and report such as prompt as possible.

Before Monday’s attack, the government had vowed to identify and prosecute all those behind the attack on Ta’agbe village.

It had also warned that any person or group found to be providing refuge and escape for perpetrators of the act would not be spared the wrath of the law.

PoliticsBuhari, AGF Ask Court To Dismiss Suits Seeking Magu’s Sacking by bestguru(op): 12:36pm On Oct 16, 2017
President Muhammadu Buhari and the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), have asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to strike out all suits seeking the removal of the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrhim Magu, from office.

“This honourable court cannot invoke its judicial powers under Section 6(6)(b) (of the Constitution) to hear and determine this case,” the President and the AGF stated in a preliminary objection challenging the competence of a suit seeking Magu’s removal from office.

The AGF took the legal position backing Magu’s appointment despite the reported strained relationship between the minister and the acting EFCC chairman.

There are said to be pending 17 suits filed in support and against Magu’s appointment, following the refusal of the Senate to confirm the appointment of Magu as the substantive EFCC chairman on two different occasions.

One of the suits is said to be pending before the Yola Division of the Federal High Court, another in the Kano Division, while the rest are said to be pending before the Abuja Division of the court.
It was learnt that the President and the AGF took the same position in all of the suits seeking Magu’s removal from office.

Responding to one of the suits seeking Magu’s sacking, jointly initiated by two lawyers, Ahmed Yusuf and Peter Asa, on March 24, 2017, Malami filed a preliminary objection to the matter on behalf of himself and Buhari, who is the fourth respondent to the suit.

The Solicitor General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Justice, Mr. Dayo Apata, leading Mr. Tijani Gazali and other lawyers in the ministry, signed the preliminary objection on behalf of the President and the AGF.

The suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/227/2017, has Magu, the EFCC; the AGF, President Buhari, the Senate, and its President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, as the first to the sixth defendants respectively.

In their response Buhari and the AGF contended that the court lacked jurisdiction to hear the suit because, among other issues, the plaintiffs lacked the locus standi (legal right) to file the suit.
They added, “The plaintiffs do not have sufficient interest in the determination of this matter.
“The plaintiffs’ civil rights were not breached by the defendants.

“The plaintiffs did not meet the necessary pre-condition to file this suit.”
The two defendants, on whose behalf they filed the notice of preliminary objection, prayed for “an order of this honourable court striking out this matter for want of jurisdiction”.

They insisted that the plaintiffs lacked the right to institute the suit but were merely attempting to confer such rights on themselves when they were not instructed by the Senate to file the action.

The preliminary objection read in apart. “The plaintiffs claim to be concerned Nigerian citizens and legal practitioners, thus imparted upon themselves the right to institute this suit, notwithstanding the fact that the National Assembly (particularly the Senate) is a legal person capable of suing and being sued. The Plaintiffs did not depose to the fact that they were instructed by the Senate or the Senate President to institute this suit.

“The plaintiffs are seeking inter alia an order restraining the 4th defendant from re-nominating or representing the name of the 1st defendant (Magu) to the Senate for appointment as the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.”
The two defendants maintained that the suit was wrongly instituted by the two plaintiffs and ought to be struck out.

They added, “My lord, we humbly submit that a perusal of all the processes in the court’s file will reveal that the plaintiffs instituted the action wrongly as they do not possess the locus standi to institute same.

“The plaintiffs have also failed to follow the due process of law in filing this suit and have not brought this action by way of Judicial Review contrary to Order 34 of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules.

“This honourable court has therefore been deprived of the jurisdiction to hear and determine this suit.
“And if it is, your lordship has the power to, among other things, strike out this matter in its entirety. We urge your lordship to strike out this matter for want of jurisdiction.”

Prayers sought in the suit included, “A declaration that by the combined effect of the provisions of section 2(3) of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (Establishment) Act, 2004 and Order 131 of the Rules of the 5th and 6th defendants, the 4th defendant cannot validly reappoint/ re-present the name of the 15‘ Defendant to the 5th efendant for confirmation as the Chairman of the 2nd defendant having being previously rejected twice by the 5th and 6th defendants.

“A declaration that by re-nominating, re-presenting the name of the 1st defendant to the 5th and 6th defendants for confirmation as the Chairman of the 2nd defendant. having being previously rejected twice by the 5th and 6th defendant, the 4th defendant is foisting a candidate upon Nigerians.”

PoliticsProvide Dirt Information About US President "Trum" And Collect $10m- Larry Flynt by bestguru(op): 4:21pm On Oct 15, 2017
Hustler Magazine publisher Larry Flynt offered $10 million Sunday for dirt to help remove from office US President Donald Trump, in a full page ad in the Washington Post.

“I do not expect any of Trump’s billionaire cronies to rat him out, but I am confident that there are many people in the know for whom $10 million is a lot of money,” he said in the ad.

The porn magazine founder noted that he had used million dollar cash rewards before to elicit information that helped upend the careers of two Republican politicians.
“For the current crisis, I have upped the ante to $10 million,” he wrote. “Make no mistake, I fully intend to pay this entire sum.”

The top of the ad, written in all caps, reads simply: “$10 MILLION FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE IMPEACHMENT AND REMOVAL FROM OFFICE OF DONALD J. TRUMP.”

It goes on to question the legitimacy of Trump’s election and lists offenses ranging from Trump’s alleged collusion with Russian meddling in the US election to his sabotaging the Paris climate accord.
“But most worrisome is that, long before climate-change apocalypse strikes, Trump might trigger a nuclear world war,” he wrote.

“Impeachment would be a messy, contentious affair, but the alternative — three more years of destabilizing dysfunction — is worse.”

The ad lists an email contact and a hotline, which the Post reported would be staffed on weekdays, 8:30 am to 6 pm, for the next two weeks.

The Commissioner of Police in Abia State, Mr Anthony Ogbizi, has said that weapons, including petrol bombs and one double-barrel gun, were recovered during the raid carried out on the residence of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

Speaking on Thursday during an interactive session held at the officer’s mess in Umuahia, Ogbizi said that the raid was carried out based on an intelligence report and joint effort with the military and they will not hesitate to revisit the home of IPOB leader if there is a new evidence.

“We have an intelligence report that an uncompleted building is being used for training Biafra secret service and we have confirmed it, so my question is, are we not supposed to go there to verify the evidence?
“We recovered many of Biafra’s insignia, the staff of office and some of those items are being analysed,” Ogbizi said.

He said that the petrol bombs were found in buckets and incriminating documents and letters, concerning IPOB’s activities and plans, were also recovered during the raid on Nnamdi Kanu’s house.

(DGW) PRESIDENT Adama Barrow of the Republic of Gambia in a bid to secure his seat and consolidate his hold on power clamped down on Jammeh's loyalists in the army and had them detained since since his ascension to the presidency.

Jammeh, he feared, could make covert operations to overthrow him in a bloody coup which informed his interest and desire to launch a major crackdown on his loyalists among whom are the military officers below.

Captain Yahya Jammeh, Lieutenant Malik Sanyang, Lieutenant Yousufa Jammeh, WO1 Pa Sanneh, WO1 Ismaila Jammeh, Staff Sergeant Lamin Badjie, Corporal Dino Sanneh, Lance Corporal Mustafa Kujabi.

Others are, Lance Corporal Mbemba Camara, Sergeant Malik Bojang, Lieutenant Souleyman Sanyang, Corporal Lamin Gibba, Staff Sergeant Samboujang Bojang, Lance Corporal Aba Badjie, Corporal Lamin Nyassi, Staff Sergeant Amadou Badjie.

According to a military source, some of the detainees have spent no fewer than eight calendar months while the crackdown continues following a series of arrests made recently which the Gambian public interpreted as a covert operation and a selfish design to consolidate his hold on power.

Some military, analyst say, this is another ill-conceived plan to transform himself to yet another dictator which is being greeted with discontent from many quarters.
