Our economic challenges actually began when Major General Aguiyi-Ironsi abrogated regionalism and promulgated Decree Number 34 on May 24, 1966, which effectively ended regionalism, took control of all resources, including oil, which had hitherto belonged to the regions, and domiciled them in his military government. How Tinubu Is Reversing The Damage Ironsi Did To Nigeria One of the cardinal principles of President Tinubu's renewed hope agenda, which was prominently featured during the campaigns, was his promise to reform Nigeria by devolving power to the lower levels of government. We have seen the first fruition of that promise with Local Government autonomy Local Government autonomy achieved via a judicial victory at the Supreme Court on Thursday, July 11, 2024. But there is more. Nigeria's golden age was the first five years after Independence when we practised regionalism. That is when we had our fastest and most consistent economic growth and were a lender nation rather than a borrowing country. That idyllic situation was shattered on the night of January 15, 1966, when Majors Emmanuel Ifeajuna and Chukwuma That idyllic situation was shattered on the night of January 15, 1966, when Majors Emmanuel Ifeajuna and Chukwuma Nzeogwu executed their coups. There was wild jubilation all over Nigeria after the January 15, 1966 coup, because Nigerians believed it was a patriotic and nationalistic coup. Then, the names of those killed were announced over the radio, and it was discovered that only people from the North, West and Midwest were killed, but no politician from the East was killed. After the coup failed, the remaining cabinet members asked the British for military assistance, but the then British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Sir Francis Cumming-Bruce, said that such assistance would have to come from either the Prime Minister or an acting Prime Minister. At that, there was a quarrel between the Northern Peoples Congress Ministers who felt that as senior members of the coalition, their candidate, Zanar Dipcharima, the Minister of Transport, should be sworn in as the acting Prime Minister. However, the NCNC Ministers felt Ozumba Mbadiwe should be the acting Prime Minister. As a result of this stalemate, they invited the Attorney As a result of this stalemate, they invited the Attorney General of the Federation, Taslim Elias, who said the Constitution was on the side of the NPC. Is this not for personal use? Be smart! !!!! FIRS and SIRS should investigate this matter. He cannot be generating money from the public and diverting it for personal gain without paying taxes on the funds..... |

A few weeks ago on social media, X platform to be precise, there was the circulation of anti-Yorùbá job adverts by Igbo immigrants. To those who believe this is a new phenomenon in Yorùbáland must be hypocritical and part of the group of people who continue to be ignorant in their actions. Since the suspension of the regional system of governance by the Igbo military thugs, Yorùbá have lost their economy/wealth, political will, and common Yorùbá vision. No thanks to the 1966 coup by the Igbo who have never hidden their agenda to not only destroy Yorùbá and its civilization but also to appropriate all that belongs to us as a nation. Years ago, YYF strongly advocated for YORÙBÁ JOBS FOR YORÙBÁ PEOPLE (Thinking Yorùbá First and foremost). However, many criticized this with no deep reasoning for such declaration and public enlightenment. Up until this moment, the Igbo nation has been the biggest beneficiary of the Unitary system of government and will forever reject a return to regional governance alongside total devolution of power. The agitation for Biafra is a complete distraction and propaganda by Igbo political actors and their propagandists in and outside Nigeria, deceiving the Yorùbá public with rhetoric that they are the economic backbone of Nigeria. Over the past years, we have conducted numerous political lectures that explain and expose all Igbo propaganda and the reasons why artificial poverty and insecurity are ravaging our daily lives. Later today, we shall revisit one of President Adeyinka Grandson's lectures where he discussed Yorùbáland being the "economic backbone of Nigeria." Only a return to the regional system of governance will bring the government closer to the people with greater responsibilities and accountabilities, ultimately eradicating EBI NPA WA caused by the Yahoo Yahoo Unitary system in a multicultural country like Nigeria. |

If Nigerian soldiers have resorted to creating social media content, we are doomed. When did they start doing this? I am sure these soldiers are on duty because no armory can hand over a rifle to any soldier unless he has been scheduled for a specific duty and part of their duty period has been carved out to be humiliating a religious sect. This is how unbusy and lighthearted it can get among the men in uniform. An average soldier's watchword is "vigilance." Could you tell me how careful these soldiers are about creating viral Christian videos? We are doomed, and it is only because of the soldiers deployed to keep an eye on a particular region that Boko Haram has not been totally destroyed. |
